Hogsmeade village, the only village left in England that was completely muggle free. Narcissa had only been to the village a few times in her life and it wasn't anywhere near the extravagance of Diagon Alley but it would do for the months she was at Hogwarts. Plus, it was the only place she could meet Bellatrix during the year. Her sister couldn't get into Hogwarts, for obvious reasons, and Hogsmeade was the only place Narcissa could get to outside of Hogwarts until Christmas break.
And that was what Narcissa Black was doing, walking into a run down pub called the Hog's Head. It was nearly empty, only one person sitting at the bar, drinking out of a filthy glass. The little blond wrinkled her nose in distaste and looked around the pub. She took a few steps in, trying not to get any of the dirt on her clean clothes.
Narcissa could see why Bella would want to meet here. It was out of the way, and no one would think of looking for the esteemed, rich, Black sister's in a dump like this, but that didn't mean Narcissa liked it any better. The fifteen year old didn't want to sit down on the chairs, but she knew it was inevitable, she would draw more attention if she just stood in the middle of the room. She went and sat down at a table in a shadowed corner, where she could see the door, but she herself was in the shadows. The bartender came over and said she had to order something but there was no way Narcissa was going to eat or drink anything here. She pulled out a few Galleons and tossed them to him, "Don't bother me," She said in a commanding tone. The bartender pocketed the Galleons in his greasy apron, nodded and walked back behind the bar where he proceeded to clean a dirty glass with a just as filthy cloth. Narcissa shuddered.

It had over a year now since Bellatrix had graduated from Hogwarts, and she hadn’t spent a minute missing it. So many became sentimental and such silly things once they left the school after their seventh year, but she hadn’t been one of them. After all, what was there to miss? Constantly being surrounded by obnoxious children, rules, curfews and dreary old professors who taught nothing useful past third year? That was around the time the brunette had began realizing they were silly old cowards, anyway, always preaching about how muggleborns and sometimes even muggles were equal to them. Corrupting young magical minds with such outrageous ideas ought to be punishable – and, if the Dark Lord had his way, it would be. What a beautiful thought.
Despite that, though, there was one thing currently at Hogwarts Bellatrix found herself missing; her youngest sister, the lovely Narcissa. She loved both her sisters, yes, but in a way, she found it easier to relate to Cissy than to Meda. Strange, in a way, since they were four years apart and all, but it was the way it was nonetheless. Maybe the age difference was a part of it. Cissy had always been too young to excel at the same things as Bella did, while Meda was something of a rival even if neither of them intended it to be that way.
Anyway, it was because of Narcissa that the nineteen year old found herself in Hogsmeade today. Normally, she preferred to stay further away from the school, both because she loathed the place and because, well, there might be aurors around and her fascination with the Dark Lord and his cause wasn’t exactly a secret. No, she wasn’t wanted or anything – she hadn’t done anything she could be arrested for (that anyone could prove, anyway) – but it was better to be on the safe side nonetheless. It wouldn’t surprise her even a bit if someone was watching her when she was this close to places like Hogwarts.
That was why she had asked to meet Narcissa in the Hog’s Head rather than the more reputable Three Broomsticks as well. The Hog’s Head was appalling, so she wasn’t particularly happy about it, but they both knew they’d be going back to somewhere more luxurious later, so it didn’t seem like such a huge sacrifice for a bit of privacy.
Naturally, she was relieved to see that the pub was as empty as usual, and even more relieved to see that the blonde was already there, hidden in a corner. Bella loathed waiting. Hearing her sister say ”Don’t bother me” to the waiter as she drew closer caused the brunette’s eyebrows to arch slightly, though. ”Are you being bothered, Cissy?” she asked, tossing a glance at the man behind the counter before taking a seat opposite her sister.

”Are you being bothered, Cissy?” Her sister's voice brought Narcissa's attention from the bartender to Bellatrix, who was now standing in front of her. Narcissa smiled a small smile but said nothing while she waited for her sister to sit down. Looking at the two you would never guess they were sisters, they looked nothing alike. Narcissa had long blond hair and blue green eyes, while Bellatrix had dark brown hair and eyes.
"Just avoiding getting some form of food poisoning Bella," The blond said, her voice haughty, "After all, who knows what sort of germs are hidden by all this grime." As if to prove her point the bartender sneezed into the rag he was holding, which he proceeded to wipe a cup with. Narcissa shuddered, thoroughly disgusted by this place. She hoped she never had to come here, or anywhere like here, ever again.
Though she figured putting up with this place for a little was worth getting to see Bella. Narcissa always missed her eldest sister during the year, though she loved Meda dearly her other sister wasn't Bella. Meda, she could confide in, Bella, she could learn from. "Please Bella, tell me what's happening out there, Mum and Dad won't. They seemed annoyingly stubborn about leaving me out of it." Though Narcissa did love being spoiled by her parents, she did not like being treated like a baby by them. "And it's not like the teachers here are any good at keeping us informed on what's going on." If anything the teachers were even worse than her parents, trying to protect the students from the harsh reality of the world, if that were even possible. "And I don't even bother with the Daily Prophet, everything printed in it is controlled by the Ministry. You're the only one I can trust to tell me the truth." Narcissa batted her eyelashes innocently. Someone else might buy that Narcissa was innocently curious, but Bella wouldn't, she knew her too well.
"I want to know what's going on with the war. It's got to be more interesting than anything that goes on here." Narcissa sighed, she really didn't like Hogwarts, she would much prefer being at home where she could actually know what was going on, and where she wouldn't be forced to mingle with halfbloods, and even worse mudbloods. "In fact, anything would be more interesting than what happens here."

Bella chuckled slightly as she looked over at the bartender just in time to catch him sneezing into his rag. ”Oh, that is disgusting,” she said, a bit fascinated by how this place only seemed to become more and more appalling. One would think a simple cleaning spell could keep things in order, but that thought had apparently not occurred to the pub’s owner. Or maybe he just didn’t care. She certainly wouldn’t have cared much, had her greatest accomplishment in life been owning a tiny pub in Hogsmeade. It seemed like such a waste of time. On the other hand, though, she was glad someone wasted that time so people had somewhere to meet when they wanted to be discreet.
”Don’t beg, Cissy, it’s not attractive,” she chided almost automatically as the blonde asked her to tell her what was going on. To some, the word please might be as good a spell as any (especially when combined with a pretty face), but Bellatrix didn’t like asking for anything. The Blacks were virtually wizarding royalty, after all, so they shouldn’t need to ask. ”And save your pretty eyelash batting for silly boys, won’t you? I know you too well to fall for it.” Her tone was more playful than reprimanding this time, however. All the Black sisters were beautiful, naturally, and Narcissa was perhaps the best of them at using it. Not a bad ability to have, that.
”Can’t wait to get out of Hogwarts, right?” she then asked, sighing theatrically. Merlin, those last years had felt like forever for the brunette. She was certainly glad that was all behind her. It seems we’ve reached a bit of a standstill, though. Temporarily, of course, but frustrating nonetheless. The Order of the Phoenix is recruiting a bit too fast.” She paused for a moment, casting a quick glance over at the bartender before speaking again, a bit more quietly now. ”Not that it matters, of course. We are as well. Regulus will be initiated soon, and probably Malfoy as well. The Order is ridiculous, thinking they can fight the Dark Lord.”

Narcissa was absolutely appalled by the way this place was run and if it were not a convenient place to meet Bella where they wouldn't be caught she would have done all she could to put it out of business. Bella's chiding just made the younger girl smile innocently, "Bella, when you're as pretty as I am you can make anything, including begging, look good." Yes Narcissa was vain, but then she had a reason to be. All three of the Black sisters were beautiful but Narcissa was the one who probably cultivated it the most, after all it could be used to her advantage at times, as Bellatrix pointed out. "Hmmm, well the boys are smart enough to know it would be in their best interest to do what I want."
Her older sister's sigh prompted Narcissa to sigh as well, she knew that Bella would understand better than anyone at how boring Hogwarts could be. "I can't wait until I am graduated and free of it all." She said, she was tired of the rules, the teachers, the classes, and most of all the other students. "The Order is nothing but a load of muggle loving fools who think they have a chance against us." She hissed, her voice full of venom, her plain disgust and hatred of the idea plain in her beautiful face. It was disgusting that there were people who thought that muggles and muggleborns were equals to purebloods, and what made it even more disgusting was that there were people from noble families, like their cousin Sirius, who thought so.
"Blood traitors," Narcissa spat, thinking with fury of Sirius, who had disgraced the Black family time and time again. And there were other pureblood families who had been equally disgraced by their own children. The Logans, the Longbottoms, the Potters. All good pure families who were lowering themselves to the status of mudbloods when they could have been on the winning side. Those families would have to be destroyed now, ancient families that had always been pure would be wiped off the face of this earth, because they had made the wrong choice. It was harsh, but it was necessary, like in gardens. Sometimes you had to prune back a flower so that it could grow properly, it was the only way.

Bella simply shook her head. ”You’re so vain, Cissy,” she said, an unusual softness in her voice. Although she was often harsh when she spoke to her sisters – just as she would be with anyone else – there was a soft spot in her heart reserved for Narcissa. That was the only reason she found the vanity tolerable, as she would probably laugh at anyone else acting like her, no matter how pretty they might be. ”Be careful with the boys, though. Wouldn’t want anyone to ruin that face.” Then, as an afterthought, she added, ”They’ll only just live long enough to regret it.” Yes, she was quite protective of the blonde, far more than with Andromeda. Then again, that was only because her relationship with the middle sister had become strained recently. She still cared for Meda a great deal. After all, they were sisters.
”Patience, dear,” she said, but chuckled only a moment after. ”That’s what everyone told me. But it’s ridiculous. Ridiculous!” She paused for a moment, looking into the blue eyes of her younger sister with an amused expression on her face. ”After all, they don’t teach us what we need to know. We’ll serve him, Cissy, and the stupid little spells they teach at Hogwarts” – she hissed the word, as it she loathed the very name – ”can’t possibly prepare us for that.” In fact, she was quite sure nothing could prepare anyone for that, because it was such a great honor, such a privilege, that she found herself absolutely overwhelmed. And the Dark Lord was… powerful. Intoxicating.
That reminded her of another fact, though. ”And even if that wasn’t the plan, we’d still be getting married. I to Rodolphus, of course, and you…” She broke off abruptly, realizing what she had been about to say. She had been present when Lucius had been informed he was to marry Narcissa, but no one had actually told the blonde, as far as Bella knew. Deciding it was best to change the subject as quickly as possible. ”No matter. Do you want anything to eat? Drink? Merlin knows I don’t want anything from here, but we could go… somewhere nicer, if such a place exists this close to Hogwarts.”

Bella called her vain, but Narcissa just smiled, "And why shouldn't I be Bella?" She asked with a coy smile. Yes Narcissa was vain, but she was beautiful, so it was alright. It wasn't like she was ugly and vain, there were girls like that, and Cissy couldn't stand them. "Now now Bella, there isn't a boy out there that could mess this up." She said with a slight chuckle. Cissa knew that if there was a guy who tried to mess with her he wouldn't last very long. Bella wound find them, end of story. Then Bellatrix brought up the Dark Lord, but of course she did, there wasn't a person in the world who supported him more than Bella, none that Cissy knew of anyway.
Narcissa would never tell Bella this but she didn't know if she wanted to join the Death Eaters. Yes she supported the Dark Lord, there was no doubt in her mind about that, but did she really want to spend the rest of her life serving him? That was what the fifteen year old didn't know yet. Bella hadn't hesitated at the chance, she thought the Dark Lord was the greatest person to walk this planet, but Narcissa was more cautious. But Bella's next words caught her attention, there was no way she could ignore it. ”And even if that wasn’t the plan, we’d still be getting married. I to Rodolphus, of course, and you…” The blond's green blue eyes snapped to her sister's face, suddenly narrowed. What was that Bella had said? She was getting married!! To who?! Bella tried to cover up her mistake, change the subject, but Narcissa wasn't going to have any of that.
"What do you mean Bella?" She asked, her tone calm, but with a frosty undertone that hadn't been there a moment ago. Yes it was dangerous to speak to her sister like that, but Narcissa didn't care. Bella had just revealed an extremely important piece of information that she was not about to let go. "Who am I all set to be married to? And don't like to me Bella, you know that just makes me mad." Narcissa was not going to let her sister change the subject again, she was going to get the information out of Bella one way or another. If she was suppose to marry someone she wanted to know who. She would have asked who had planned it, if that answer weren't so painfully obvious, her parents.

Bella knew she’d made a mistake. Their parents obviously had not informed Narcissa yet, and Lucius… well, she’d hardly expect more of him. Had she really expected her little sister to go along with changing the subject? No. Narcissa was too clever for that. It had been worth a shot, though, because the brunette didn’t really want to tell Cissy this. Fifteen was too young to be engaged. Bellatrix herself had been eighteen, and as far as she knew, no one had been decided for Andromeda yet – and she would have known, too, since Druella told her more or less everything. That was definitely one of the advantages of being their mother’s undoubted favorite. Right now, though, she almost wished she hadn’t been present at the reading of old Abraxas Malfoy’s will. If she hadn’t, she wouldn’t be in this awkward position right now.
Narcissa did have a right to know, though. This was her life, her future, that was being discussed, and had Bella found out that one of her sisters knew who she’d be getting married to before she did, she would have done anything to get that information out of them. Now, Bella and Cissy weren’t all that similar – none of the sisters were, to be perfectly honest – but they wouldn’t tolerate someone keeping important secrets like this from them. So she was hesitant, yes, but there was no doubt in the young woman’s mind that she would have to tell the blonde what was going on.
”I was asked to come with mother and father when Abraxas Malfoy’s will was read,” she said, eyes fixed on her sister. ”He was a crazy man with a lot of crazy ideas.” She suspected the younger girl already knew where she was going with this, but there was still a part of her that hoped for some sort of distraction. That wasn’t going to happen, though, so why was she making this more difficult for both of them? ”Anyway, after explaining in excruciating detail the importance of keeping our pure blood pure, which I agree with, of course, but still…”
She paused. Of course she agreed, but there was some kind of odd resentment building up in her because Narcissa had been chosen. She didn’t want to be the one to marry Lucius herself – in fact, she’d happily never see his face again in her life – and she knew that there were things about Andromeda that might make the middle sister unsuitable, but why Cissy? Cissy was her baby sister, and although it was necessary and she would not question Abraxas’ judgment, the blonde was just a child, for Merlin’s sake! This disagreement with her parents’ decisions was not something Bella was used to, but it was a genuine feeling nonetheless, probably helped by her dislike of Lucius. Her voice as she spoke again betrayed none of that doubt, however. ”He wanted you to marry his son. Our parents were ecstatic.”

Narcissa crossed her arms as she watched her sister, her eyebrows raised, expectant. She could tell that thoughts were racing through Bella's mind, trying to find a way out of this conversation, and seeing none, and admitting that she was just going to have to come out with the truth. Narcissa was going to find out who she was engaged to, and then she was going to send a very angry letter to her parents asking why they thought they had any right to decide who she married. Bella began to speak, and Narcissa found herself looking into her sister's dark eyes. She heard the name Malfoy, and felt her stomach drop. She felt all the colour drain from her face, leaving her face bloodless, even paler than usual. She took a deep breath, and it sounded more like a gasp. The rest of Bella's words seemed to come from far off, slow and distorted, but Narcissa didn't need to hear them to know what her sister was saying. She was betrothed to, "Lucius Malfoy," Her voice was barley a whisper, and it cracked. She sounded as young as she was, young and upset and she felt like a fool.
"That lowlife piece of scum, I trusted him!" She hissed, not even caring that she had broken her deal with Lucius to "keep them a secret." He had known, that day that he had kissed her, he had known that they were engaged, and he hadn't said a word. He had used her, made her act like a fool! She had opened up to him, admitted that she had feelings about him, and he had been using her. Narcissa could still feel the pressure of his lips on hers, could feel his hand moving through her curls, across her cheek. That had meant nothing, it had been a game to him. She was nothing but a fifteen year old girl who was going to have to marry him whether she wanted to or not, so he could anything he wanted. Now Narcissa was feeling like a fool, and Lucius was going to pay for making her feel that way. She was going to make sure he never made that mistake again.

Bellatrix didn’t want to look at Narcissa as the truth dawned on her. She didn’t even want to be in the same room, completely unsure of what to say as she was. It would have been so much easier for everyone if Andromeda had been the one to convey these news, if Andromeda even knew, that was. She probably didn’t, actually. Either way, Bella was not an advisor, not someone who knew what the right thing to say to make people feel better was. She was a fighter, proud and passionate and determined, not someone who could hug and kiss away everyone’s problems even if she wanted to. And right now, she did want to. It was the strangest thing, this urge to protect Cissy she had – and she could protect her against anyone who would hurt her physically, but she didn’t know how to deal with emotions. Not even her own.
”I didn’t want to be the one to tell you,” she said, her tone almost apologetic. That was certainly unusual for her. The blonde opposite her was an exception to so many things, though, the one person she might actually love as much as she loved herself. Heck, Narcissa’s situation even made her question her parents’ wisdom. So yes, it was true – Bellatrix, the psychotic, sadistic Black sister, did have a weak spot for her baby sister. Not that anyone would actually get to know that. She knew there was no changing this now, though. All the arrangements had been made, everything was in order. Their parents were absolutely ecstatic, and even Lucius had tentatively accepted…
Her trail of thought was abruptly cut off by Narcissa speaking again. ”I trusted him!” Bella looked back at her, dark eyes staring fixedly at her. ”What are you talking about, Cissy?” she asked, her voice sharp once more. Trusted him? Who in their right mind would trust Lucius Tyson Malfoy? Merlin, if he had done anything to her sister, she would Crucio him until he lost his pathetic little mind, and she would enjoy every second of it. ”What has he done? Talk to me!” Her voice was a little louder than it should be now, but she didn’t care. She was just about ready to stroll up to the Hogwarts gates and murder him this instant, but at least she possessed the patience to wait until she was told what was going on.

Narcissa's thoughts were racing. She had made a fool of herself in front of Lucius, she had let him get under her skin, and all he had been doing was messing with her. To him she was nothing but another girl to be played with before being discarded like a toy when another newer, prettier girl came along. But there was one big difference between Narcissa and all those other girls. They could all pull themselves to their feet, dust themselves off and walk away when Lucius was finished with them, Narcissa couldn't. All she could do was stand on the sidelines, watching and waiting for him to come back to her, because she was to be tied to him so completely that it would be pointless to try and get out. She was going to marry him, and there was no way she would be able to get out of it. Not without bringing shame to herself, disgracing her family, and angering her parents. She was going to be stuck, forever in that endless circle.
”What are you talking about, Cissy?” Bella's tone was sharp and Cissy found that her sister's dark eyes now had an angry glint to them. "What has he done? Talk to me!” Her sister's loud tone brought the eyes of the bartender and the one person sitting at the bar to the two sisters. The blond made a shushing motion to her sister, the last thing she wanted was everyone in the bar to be listening in on this conversation, it was embarrassing enough already.
Narcissa knew that she had to tell Bella now, there was no way she could get out of it now, but doing so would be admitting that she had been made a fool of, that she had fallen for everything he had said, and Narcissa didn't want to do that. She was feeling shamed enough as it was and telling Bella wouldn't help. But none of that mattered, she had to tell her sister, Bella wouldn't leave her alone until she did, so the blond drew in a deep breath and pulled herself to sit up straighter. Meeting her sister's eyes she whispered softly, "The other day Lucius and I were talking in the common room, and..." Narcissa trailed off for a moment, thinking about how Lucius had said they would have to keep it a secret, lest her sisters found out and got angry with him. Narcissa hesitated a moment, remembering his lips on hers, his hand gently caressing her cheek. Did she really want to tell Bella that? Did she really want to break her promise to Lucius? That thought lasted only a moment before she killed it. Of course she did, he had lied to her, played with her, all the while knowing the truth. She wanted him to suffer.
"He kissed me." She said softly, lowering her eyes to her hands, which were clasped on her lap. "A few times and..." She sighed, feeling her cheeks flush slightly, "I kissed him back." She looked up at Bella from under long eyelashes, trying to gauge her sister's reaction. "He's very good at making you believe whatever he wants you to believe." It was almost painful for Narissa to admit that she had believed what he had told her, but she had to. "He had me hanging onto his every word, eating out of the palm of his hand, falling for him, and on I'll bet anything that he was enjoying every moment of it."

”Don’t shush me, Narcissa,” Bellatrix replied almost automatically, but her voice was definitely lower now. Really, she was just taking her annoyance out on Narcissa in the nicest way she could. Since she hadn’t even heard what the deal with Malfoy was yet, the fact that she was already irritated should be something to be concerned about. Not for her little sister, of course, but for more or less everyone else she could possibly encounter before tracking down Lucius. And she was going to have to track him down, she could tell that just by the few words Narcissa had said moments ago. He had done something he shouldn’t have, something that had upset her Cissy, and she would not have it.
They had been talking in the common room. Bella’s thoughts were already headed in the direction of Lucius somehow having hurt Narcissa physically, because she didn’t have any higher thoughts of him than that he might do something as stupid as that. She remembered Narcissa saying she had trusted him, though, and she would have reacted differently to finding out she was engaged to him than if this was as simple as loathing. Why couldn’t it just be as simple as loathing? And, while on the subject, why couldn’t Bella just bring herself to loathe Rodolphus? Hatred was simple, easily solved by an Unforgivable Curse or two, but the sad thing about it was that hatred was hardly ever involved all by itself. There always seemed to be some underlying reason, some breach of trust or similar disappointment that caused it to be mixed with regret or even some form of… love.
”He kissed me.” If Bella had eaten or drunk anything within the last hour, she would have choked on it, and for a second, it felt like she was going to choke on air. Lucius had kissed Narcissa several times and not told her they were engaged? That was completely unacceptable. Oh, she didn’t mind him playing his foolish little games with foolish little girls, but for Narcissa to be one of them? No. So completely, utterly wrong. If his plan had been to go into this marriage with the youngest Black girl naively hanging onto his every word, well, he was going to have to make a new plan and do it fast - and that plan was going to have to involve his pretty face shattered into a million pieces. She wanted absolutely nothing more than to see him in severe, excruciating pain right now.
”I’ll kill him,” she hissed, her nails actually digging into the wooden table. Every fiber in her body burned with rage, the kind of rage for which she had found the best cure to be torturing someone to the brink of insanity. That was something Lucius definitely deserved for toying with her baby sister. In a way, it was surprising that he hadn’t known better, that he was willing to actually risk Bella’s wrath by pulling a stunt like that, but she had never really considered him all that bright. Still, he was not going to get away with this. After looking at her sister for a moment, the brunette quickly rose from her seat, prepared to storm the gates of Hogwarts right now if she had to. ”He’s not getting away with this.” Her voice was still just a hiss, but anger stung in every word nonetheless. This was absolutely unforgivable.

As soon as she had told the truth Narcissa didn't know if she regretted it or not. On one hand she did, but that was just the after effects of trusting him, the shadow of the feeling she had had for him. That would be gone in a moment, and she wouldn't regret selling him out to Bella at all. Whatever her sister did to him he deserved it. ”I’ll kill him,” Bell hissed, and the look on her face was not favourable. In fact it was scary, even to Narcissa. She had the urge to slide her chair away from the table and away from the fury her sister was radiating. But she didn't. She had seen her sister angry before, and yes sometimes it was a little, unsettling, but she could deal with it. This was still her Bella, still her older sister.
Then Bella rose to her feet, looking like she was prepared to storm Hogwarts and hunt down Lucius all on her own. "Bella," Cissy got to her feet and leaned over the table, grabbing her sister's arm, "Stop it," Bella was scaring her a little more now, and when the blond saw the gouges in the table that could only be from Bella's nails she felt the fear escalate a little. Yes her sister got angry, it happened, but Narcissa had never seen her sister quite this mad, and it was scaring. "Bella just sit down," She hissed, pulling her sister back and practically pushing her into the chair she had just vacated.
When her sister was sitting Narcissa felt a little calmer, she threw her curls over her shoulder and put her hands on her hips, looking down at Bella. "I can deal with him myself," She said, remembering her conversation with Lucius, how she had told him that she could take care of herself. If Bella came after Lucius he would think that Narcissa was nothing but a pretty face that could talk and nothing else. She would never be able to live that down. "Please Bella, just let me deal with him." She was hoping her sister would agree, it would make things so much easier, because if she didn't it would become a matter of who could find Lucius and curse him first.

The ways of which she could possibly destroy Lucius Malfoy were swimming inside Bellatrix’ mind, from images of Crucio to simpler non-magical torture to the Killing Curse itself. No, she was not opposed to the idea of killing him, not even before Narcissa had confessed this to her, but now, it seemed like a viable option. The risk of getting caught was there, of course, but also not entirely inevitable. If she used a method other than the Killing Curse, it could be pinned on someone else. After all, he was a snotty little brat. Surely there were other people who wanted to hurt him as much as she did. Well, maybe not quite as much, but possibly just enough to actually kill him. How was it that this had never occurred to her before? It could be so very, very easy – and even if it turned out not to be, it would be worth it.
Having her arm grabbed by the blonde brought her back to reality, though, and although she tried to shake off her sister, she soon found herself being pushed back into her chair. Narcissa’s desire to stop her made her even more annoyed, but at the same time, this was Cissy and she needed to at least hear her out. As she crossed her legs so that she could sit more comfortably (until she had to leap up again, as she was planning to), Bella looked up at her younger sister, fury still burning in her eyes. ”He deserves a slow, painful death,” she muttered under her breath, now clutching her wand with her left hand. Patience was not something Bellatrix Black possessed much of.
Narcissa’s request caused Bella’s eyebrows to shoot up, and her lips narrowed into a skeptical semi-frown. ”How exactly were you planning on dealing with him, Cissy?” Her voice had changed from a loud hiss into its more typical haughty tone, underlined more than usual by the way she spoke her sister’s nickname. ”You’re engaged to a loathsome scumbag. I could take care of that.” By take care of it, of course, she meant either hex him into a permanently vegetative state or just have him killed. Either way, Narcissa would be free from having to put up with his stupid games. Out of all the eligible young pureblood women bloody Abraxas could have chosen, why did it have to be one of her sisters? It had to be some kind of cruel prank he’d wanted to pull after his death, just to see if the House of Black would actually allow a mangy worm like Lucius to marry one of its daughters. This really was a new low for their noble, respectable family.

Ways that she could get back at Lucius without Bella's help were running through Narcissa's mind. She could curse him, that would be definitely be fun. She would have to use magic since he was older and bigger than her and physically hurting him without magic wouldn't be possible for her, but Bella had taught her plenty of hexes, jinxes and curses to use on enemies, and Lucius was definitely an enemy right now. Hmmm, maybe she could find a spell to turn him into a slug, which she could then use in a potion. Of course Narcissa wouldn't actually go through with that one, as killing someone was in a completely different league from cursing them, but it was fun to imagine Lucius turning into a slug and then being boiled in a cauldron.
"Bella I'm not a child anymore," Narcissa argued when her sister questioned her, "I'm perfectly capable of dealing with my own problems on my own." Throughout Narcissa's life whenever she had had something she needed help with she had always gone to her sisters. If she needed advice she went to Andy, if she needed someone beat up, well that was when she went to Bella, but she was fifteen years old now and could take care of herself. She just had to prove it to her sister. "Oh must you keep reminding me I'm engaged to him." Narcissa said, her voice holding a hint of annoyance at her sister now, "I already know and it's bad enough without you repeating it." She crossed her arms and looked down at Bella with long-lashed eyes.
"Just let me deal with him Bella, I'm perfectly capable of doing so, besides you can't exactly just waltz into Hogwarts anymore, while I on the other hand, can." Narcissa knew that that was one tiny fact that wouldn't necessarily stop Bella, but it would definitely slow her murderous rampage down, maybe enough for Narcissa to get to Lucius first. It didn't really matter which of them found Malfoy first, either way he was going to wish he had never heard of the Black sisters.
