( RIDDIKULUS! ) : Marlene's greatest fear is failure and the form her Boggart takes, changes depending on when Marlene actually sees it. For example, if she were to encounter one before a particularily big exam, it would be her failing it but before a big Quidditch game it would show her failing her team mates in some way. Her boggart always take the form of her failing in one way or another
( EXPECTO PATRONUM! ) : The form of Marlene's patronus is an eagle and her favourite memory was from when she first got her wand at Ollivanders. It was something that she had waited for for years and when the moment came, it was even better expected. She was now able to control her magic and start to do important things with it and she got a great sense of pride from that. When the wand warmed her fingertips, it felt as if at that moment she truly became a witch and was being accepted into the Wizarding World completely. It was a moment she shall never forget.
( DEMENTOR'S KISS ) : Marlene's worst memory is when she lost her first Quidditch match; she felt awful about it because she'd let down her team and she could tell they were all disappointed with her.
( MIRROR OF ERISED ) : What Marlene desires most is to live a long and plentiful life.
( PET PEEVES ) : + Petty girls
+ People walking too slow
+ Prejudice and snap judgements
+ People who pretend to be something they're not
( PERSONALITY ) :
[/li][li] DEPENDABLE "Marlene isn't the sort of person who would make a promise and then break it. She sticks to her word and this makes her easy to rely upon."
[/li][li] OUTGOING "She's definitely not the type of person that hides from the spotlight. Wherever she goes she normally finds herself the centre of attention because she's not afraid to speak her mind."
[/li][li] SOCIAL "Being the party girl that she is, it's easy for Marlene to make lots of friends across all of the houses."
[/li][li] STUBBORN "Marlene doesn't really listen to what other people have to say if she doesn't agree with it and when she's told she's got to do something she doesn't want to, she flat out refuses to listen."
Marlene is a typical Gryffindor. She's brave and she's very reckless which sometimes aren't the best qualities because she can get into all sorts of trouble because of them. Luckily for her, she has the ability to think on her feet and not get stressed in bad situations, and this (for most of the time) is able to save her. One thing that Marlene loves to do, along with a lot of other Gryffindors, is party. If there's a party on, she'll be the life of it, getting drunk and dancing with everyone there. She's social and outgoing, which makes it easier for her to make friends, but it's also quite easy for her to make enemies because of her lack of tact and quick temper.
Unfortunately, like everyone else, Marlene has her flaws. She's impatient, rash, and never does what she's told to do. This annoys her professors to no end and it usually leads to her getting a detention from them. She also has a pretty quick temper (that she has inherited from her mother's side of the family) which is something else which can get her into lots of trouble with both professors and students.
Marlene is very lazy when it comes to school work. She hates reading textbooks and writing essays, so when she gets homework like that she prefers not to do it. And if on the off chance that she decides to try it, she usually doesn't put much effort into it. This is something else that leads to her getting detentions. Marlene isn't that fussed about low marks on essays because she excells in the practical parts of the lessons, which in her mind is the only important part.
Marlene is also very stubborn. Once she has an idea in her head, she'll stick to it and nothing anyone could say would be able to change her mind. Sometimes this be negative but this characteristic can sometimes be viewed positively because it makes her dependable and loyal. She's easy to rely upon because she's so stubborn that nothing would stop her from breaking any promise and this is why Marlene doesn't really view being stubborn as a flaw.
One of Marlene's biggest passions, is Quidditch. When she was younger her Dad and her older brother taught her how to play in the garden of their small house in the countryside. They didn't get to go there often, but whenever they did, Marlene would spend all her time practicing on her broom. One time the family held a party there and it was such a sunny day they all decided to play Quidditch. Being one of the youngest, Marlene ended up with the only position that was left, Beater. After some complaining she was still forced to play, much to her dismay, but after about 10 minutes of playing the game, she really started to get into it. She was surprisingly strong for her age and gender and and she shocked most of her family when she knocked out her uncle with the bludger. From that moment on, she knew that Beater was the position she wanted to play and she made it her mission to become Beater in the Quidditch team when she got to Hogwarts. After a lot of training and practice she acheived this dream.[/blockquote]

( HAIR ) : Her hair is long, brown and unruly. When she was 13, she decided that brushing hair was overrated and opted out of it, instead choosing to let it do what it wants. Currently she has a long sweeping fringe, while the rest of her hair falls in uncontrolable waves just past her chest. She feels that her hair resembles her reckless personality and makes her look less feminine, which is better really because she has never been very lady-like anyway.
( EYES ) : Marlene has petite and rather feminine eyes, and that's why she's not very fond of them. They're a quite unique mix of hazel and chocolate brown with the odd fleck of gold in them.
( BODY STRUCTURE ) : At 5'8 and 125lbs, Marlene can be best described as average. She is neither skinny nor fat, but she likes to consider herself as rather healthy, and she is neither short nor tall, which doesn't really bother her either. She's completely content with being average. Marlene's face is quite round and delicate (but she'd describe it as podgy) and she's surprisingly tan to say she lives in England, but this is probably just because she likes to spend a lot of her time outside, mostly on her broom or playing Quidditch. She has an average size nose, which she thinks looks slightly disfigured, and small rosy lips which are way to "pouty" for her liking.
( ATTIRE ) : Marlene usually just throws on whatever she can find; she's not really into fashion that much and doesn't care what people think of her, so she just puts on anything she feels like.
( DISTINGUISHED ) : Marlene doesn't feel that she had any really distinguishing features. The thing about her that draws the most attention though, would most probably be her hair.
( PLAY-BY ) : Brittany Flickinger

( PARENTS ) : Michael McKinnon, 50, Unspeakable, Half-Blood[/blockquote]
Sophalia McKinnon, 53, Unemployed, Pureblood
( SIBLINGS ) : Michael McKinnon Jr, 20, Auror/Order Member, Ex-Gryffindor
Millicent McKinnon, 15, Student, Ravenclaw
( OTHERS ) : -
( HISTORY ) : Marlene was born into a relatively well-off family who lived on the outskirts of London. She already had an older brother, Michael, who was 3 and two years later came another brother, Millicent. Most of her childhood passed without incident, but growing up in a household with mostly males was quite a challenge. Marlene was heavily influenced by her older brother Michael, and this could probably explain her rather boy-ish behaviour that she's never really grown out of (much to the disappointment of her mother). She often got into trouble for being disobedient, usually because of Michael's influence, but at this point in time, it wasn't over anything of great importance (eating sweets when her mother told her not to etc.).
It was during her early childhood that Michael and her father started to teach her to play Quidditch and this is when she discovered her passion for it. But it wasn't until she was eight until she discovered which position she loved the most.
Soon, it was time for Michael to go to Hogwarts and Marlene was left without her partner in crime. But Marlene, not being one to give up easily, wasn't deterred and turned to her younger brother, Millicent, to become to him what Michael was to her. Millicent wasn't as reckless or loud as Michael or Marlene. He was a lot more subdued and quiet and he rarely ever spoke his mind and although Millicent wasn't as good a company as Michael was, he was sufficient enough to keep Marlene occupied until she went to Hogwarts two years later.
Most of the McKinnon family were sorted into Gryffindor (with the odd exception) and when Marlene was sorted there when she first arrived at Hogwarts it didn't come as much of a surprise. She was the typical Gryffindor, brave, reckless, smart and loyal, and she fit in there straight away. And although Michael and Marlene weren't as close as they were when they were younger, they still kept in contact because they were in the same house.
Marlene soon settled into school life and enjoyed most of the aspects of school life. But most definitely not really the homework. Marlene was very lazy when it came to school work. She hated to read textbooks and write essays, so when she gots homework like that she prefered not to do it. And if on the off chance that she decided to try it, she usually didn't put much effort into it. This is something that led to her getting detentions and not getting along that well with the teachers. But Marlene wasn't that fussed about low marks on essays because she excelled in the practical parts of the lessons, which in her mind is the only important part. One class that she particularily enjoyed was Defence Against the Dark Arts, most likely because she was the best in this class. It didn't take her long to realise that it was something that she wanted to do as a job, and she's now working towards to becoming an Auror.
When Millicent came to Hogwarts, he was sorted into Ravenclaw. Although the McKinnon family were slightly surprised to have a Ravenclaw in the family, they weren't all that shocked. Millicent had always been quiet and studious, and most definitely a lot less loud and reckless than his older siblings. Although Marlene was a little upset that Millicent wasn't in the same house as her and Michael, she wasn't that put out because she knew that Millicent would fit in better in the Ravenclaw house.
It was in her third year that Marlene began to pursue her dream of becoming a Beater for a Quidditch team. She went to the tryouts for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, but didn't make the cut. She had the strength to be a Beater and the flying skills, but her aim wasn't as good as some of the older people that also tried out. Over the next year she worked on her aim (with some help from Michael) and after a lot of hard work she was up to the standard that the Quidditch team needed, and she finally acheived her dream.
Marlene is now in her final year at Hogwarts and she can't believe that her school days are almost over. Although she can't say that she's going to miss the work aspect, she's going to miss the rest of it (mostly the familliarity and the comradery of the Gryffindors). But Marlene isn't one to dwell on the past and she's ready for the next big adventure that life's going to throw at her.

( ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE ) : As Marlene McKinnon from Marauders Unlimited. To say that a bunch of lunatics had just escaped from Azkaban, and their intent, it seemed, was to attack Hogwarts, Marlene McKinnon was surprisingly calm. She'd first heard the news from some of the other Gryffindor girls in her year, who'd ran up to the dorm where Marlene had been trying to catch up on some sleep. Eventually, partying hard and barely sleeping did catch up to you, and you had to take the odd day off to relax and catch some extra "Z's". She was on the verge of drifting off when they burst through the door shouting loudly about the escape. It took a while for them all to explain, because of all of them talking over each other and Marlene's inability to concentrate on what was actually coming out of their mouths. But finally, once they'd finished, Marlene nodded in understanding with a small frown on her face.
"Okay," she had said in a soft voice, obviously deep in thought. "Thanks for telling me guys. I'm going to sleep on this because I'm too tired to think much more about it. 'Night girls." Following that, she'd hoped to turn over and fall asleep but the Gryffindor girls protested, then proceeding to tell her that every student had to sleep in the Great Hall for safety precautions. This, surprising to the other girls, had got a much bigger reaction than the news about the escapees. She'd snapped back up and voiced her anger at the news, and all of the girls took a wise step back. Everyone? In the Great Hall? In sleeping bags? There was no chance of her getting any sleep in one of those.
Grabbing her pillow with an annoyed "hmph" she followed the girls down to the Great Hall. "This so stupid," she muttered to herself angrily. "There's no way that they'd come here...And there's no bloody chance of getting any sleep with everyone in there...there'll be people chatting all bloody night." In her mind, she knew was being a tad dramatic. I mean, there had just been an escape from Azkaban and she was more upset that she had to spend the night away from her warm bed. But, she did know that the entire thing was completely unnecessary, which was probably why she was so angry because of it. She knew there was only a miniscule chance of the convicts coming to Hogwarts, let alone them actually getting inside. What sort of idiots would try to attack Hogwarts if Dumbledore was there protecting it (not to mention a host of other highly skilled teachers)? It wasn't a logical move for them...and if they were smart enough to escape from Azkaban then she was sure that they were smart enough not to come here.
Even so, as she stepped into the Great Hall she gripped her wand and took a sweeping glance across it, stopping every so often to look closely at the Slytherins. These were obviously the most likely people to try and help the convicts get inside, so she watched them for any strange happenings. None of them looked particularily happy though...just smug. Marlene narrowed her eyes at them and carried on looking around the Hall. She doubted any of them were actually assisting the convicts, they were just smug about the escape, she was sure.
Everyone else in the Hall seemed to be slightly more frantic than the Slytherins, especially the younger years. Marlene saw that annoyingly optimistic Ravenclaw, Annabel Something, trying to brighten some of the first year Ravenclaws. As much as that girl was far too sickly sweet for Marlene's tastes, she couldn't knock her for trying to make the little ones less frightened. She carried on looking around the room and her eyes landed on a certain Gryffindor friend of hers, Dorcas Meadowes, sat looking anxious in one corner of the room. Marlene stopped instantly and watched Dorcas. She'd been so busy worrying about having to sleep in a sleeping bag, that she'd completely forgotten the effect this escape would have on one of her closest friends. It hadn't even occured to her how she, a muggleborn, would be feeling about it all...Suddenly Marlene felt incredibly guilty.
She grabbed a sleeping bag off the nearest Professor and made her way over to her friend. She was never great at the whole 'talk-about-your-feelings' thing but every now and then she came in handy as emotional support to her friends. But that of course was only on odd occasions. She slid into her sleeping bag and sat down next to Dorcas with a sigh. "Hey," she said quietly, looking at her friend. "How're holding up?" Not the most tenative of approaches, but then again, Marlene was never the one to beat around the bush.
