It was a dangerous job; actually Lucius had two dangerous jobs since graduation Hogwarts. He was now the Dark Lord’s servant and played a role in the Cursebreaker scene. In other words Lucius Tyson Malfoy was a very busy man. He was gone often, in fact so often hardly anyone kept tabs with him besides his boss and his fellow Deatheaters. However there were two exceptions to this rule. The first of course was his betrothed Narcissa Black. It was natural for him to remain in contact with his love. The second on the other hand he should have cut ties with a year ago. Then why hadn’t he? He was starting to approve of Narcissa more and more these days and yet his heart still wrenched when he thought of Phae. After several attempt to obliviate her from his mind, she found her way back. Phae was his disease. She was stuck to him and yet she was no good for him. She wouldn’t pick a side in the war, it was clear they were not meant to be together. Then why was he having such a hard time letting her go?
It was that bit of rebellion that never left Lucius Malfoy’s skin. He left the book under his arm, he had to get out of the office and decode the rest of Mageiras lost manuscript before next Tuesday. They left for another trip next Tuesday. Afternoon, Malfoy Lucius nodded in return before hurrying out the door. He placed his wand underneath the mass of his cloak retrieving the leather bound book from under his arm. He needed a quiet place to rest. Knockturn Alley. No one bothered you there. Closing his eyes, Lucius aparated to Knockturn Alley. He usually always saw some fellow Slytherin Housemates, once in a while he saw a few Ravenclaws but that was about it. This place was slowly developing into a Deatheater hideout. Lucius pulled the green hood over the very apparent blonde hair and slowly slipped the black book into his cloak.
The sketchier a person looked, the better he fit in. Lucius learned a hard lesson outside of Hogwarts and rather quickly. Not everyone cared about how rich and infamous you were. There were the people who just wanted you to suffer and learn that just because you were rich didn’t mean you had friends in the highest places. Of course he did better off than most in this area, because he was in fact rich and infamous it just wasn’t everything anymore. In fact Lucius learned a lot of lessons since being out of Hogwarts. Most he didn’t want to see and the others he had burned onto his forearm. He yawned once before darting around a corner. He hugged the leather bound book against his chest, his wand in open range of a quick hand in his pocket. That’s when it happened. He knocked into something. Grunting Lucius stumbled back over in his step. Whoever it was, was just in as much of a hurry as he was. Lucius clung to the dark green cloak to recollect himself. Depending on this very person in front of him depended on whether he was about to curse someone or help them up.
He noticed as he started working alongside the Dark Lord he had to pay attention to who he knocked over these days. Previously it didn’t matter. These days if he knocked over someone higher then himself on the food chain he could be severely punished. He also noticed his personality was growing darker, slightly morbid. The sun didn’t shine any longer; love was hardly a concept and loneliness well he was still adjusting. It was a hard price to pay for an entertaining job and the right allegiance. He pulled himself up onto his feet before looking towards the person who was also slightly pummeled in tight corner stone.
