Can't show up on time

Sharlan sat staring outside the window. The only thing visible is the brick wall to the next floor. Sharlan slumped in her chair placing one foot over the other, sighing carefully. ‘Now I need you to file these, and take them to the department chair.” Sharlan slowly looked up to Maggie, rolling her eyes once. ‘Remember, no open toed shoes, No bright colors, Get your lab coat on, no skirts, no leather gloves, latex, no leather period, Got it?’ Sharlan glared slamming her head ontop of the pile of paperwork. She was the farthest thing from average and at least everyone knew at Hogwarts. Now in the real world, she had to keep her originality hidden in order to stay ‘safe’. ’Get moving, or I’ll-‘ Sharlan picked her head up to look at Maggie. She grinned. “Or what? You’ll fire me?” Maggie rolled her eyes, pointed towards the paper work and marched back down the aisles of small glass orbs. Alice figured it out, her ‘gift’ It wasn’t a gift to Sharlan. It was well, a burden. People treated her different, but now that she was taught how to open this gift she didn’t black out anymore.
In fact she did something cooler, she could for see things, than Maggie would shove objects in front of her and make her record them. She claims one day they would do something. Sharlan hardly believed some of the things that she said, and even fewer did she actually remember. Her dreams on the other had she learned how to open her mind and experience the dream as a prophecy. These also had greater meanings then most people gave them credit for. Hogwarts had a rule of protection over their seers, until they graduated they were protected from the outside world influences. Now that she graduated they did their best to keep Sharlan from the other side. The now very dark side. Sharlan hated anything original and this, was very original. Keep the dangerous person away from the dangerous side, aka the other side’s greatest weapon. She hardly bought into any of it. She slept nearby within the hall, she learned the ways of the head leader Maggie, who was also a seer. Although Maggie learned of her gift when she was much younger.
Sharlan was training to take over just in case something ever happened to her. She hated the idea of dancing around a bunch of orbs, but what could you do when this was your said destiny. Sharlan sifted through some of the paperwork. Filing orbs, it was the greatest honor anyone could bestow upon her. She sighed jumping to her heels. She was now seen as normal, and she had a hard time fitting in still. Her tattoo was now open and freely born to the world. She was marked the seer. If she did anything odd people just nodded and continued walking. She missed being different, she missed having true friends. She missed the friendships of Hogwarts and the family she was given because of it. Orsi wasn’t even there anymore, he was stuck within the grounds of the castle. She missed him, she missed everyone. She missed the Slytherins that pushed her down the stairs, the Ravenclaws that claimed Thoth never existed. Which too much dismay she learned he didn’t exist. That the signs she received were mere fixations of her visions growing. She missed Mollie, Alice, James…Remus. Noelle was busy at work. Pretty much the rest of her year were Aurors and here she sat doing paperwork.
Sharlan pulled her hair into a messy bun, letting the sides dangle along the side of her neck. She pulled her leather gloves back on. She stared at the white lab coat before rolling her eyes once more. She hated that thing, it proved she was nothing more than Maggie. Just someone to watch the orbs, as if they would get up and leave by themselves. Her eyes carefully traced the files, she closed her eyes for a moment. Yellow files in the blue cabinet, front desk secretary. She slowly picked them up and walked towards the elevator. Walking in strappy sandals was tiring after sitting at a desk all day. Her eyes carefully examined the people as she met the secretary. Sharlan slowly handed the file towards her. “Lovely sacrificial day, isn’t it?” Sharlan asked glancing out the window to the thundering sky. The secretary eyed her for a second. Sharlan laid her hands on the desk grinning. She paused seeing Sharlan’s arm tattooed she smiled and nodded. ‘Yes Ms. Dippet, it is,” Sharlan growled taking a step away from the desk. No one understood she actually wanted to fit in. Not be branded by a category of people. Sharlan heard something down the hall, a familiar…sense?
Sharlan’s head swirled, it was him. She didn’t know how she knew, she just did. Maggie said it would take time before she ever understood most of the seers powers. She got a late start in life. Remus. Remus Lupin. The world knew Sharlan adored that man before they even knew each other. Sharlan tucked a strand of brown hair behind her ear before turning around.
“Remus?” She breathed heavily, she paused. He was busy. He was always busy, Aurors were busy people. Was he an Auror? She didn't keep up with anyone anymore. She quickly turned around, he wouldn’t talk to her anymore. Things changed after Hogwarts, that’s what they all said. Things changed. Why cause another heartbreak? Why cause another person to stare at her, look at the now visible tattoo understand. She was a danger to society, she was a danger to the order, she was a danger to the Deatheaters. She was a danger to herself. And there was no one left to talk too...except Maggie.
