NARCISSA ROSALIND BLACK CAUSE I'D RATHER WASTE MY LIFE PRETENDING THAN HAVE TO FORGET YOU FOR ONE WHOLE MINUTE For the last week the castle had been buzzing with excitement over the next trip to Hogsmeade. So much in fact that the Professors had grown quite irritated trying to get them to concentrate. The excitement of Christmas was just wearing off, and with the promise of getting out of the castle for part of a Saturday the students were unruly to say the least. Narcissa had quickly grown tiresome of her classmates inability to focus and act like mature adults instead of children and had snapped at younger students more than once, using her status as a Prefect to scare them half to death.
Not that Narcissa wasn't excited about going to Hogsmeade, she was, but she didn't see any reason why her classmates had to act like foolish children. She managed to contain her excitement and act in a dignified and lady-like manner as was expected of her.
When the morning had dawned the students of Hogwarts had looked at the ceiling in the Great Hall and groaned. On the weekend of Hogsmeade visits everyone prayed for nice weather, but apparently the weather wasn't going to cooperate this time. Once out in the cold Narcissa had pulled the hood her coat up and bent her head to keep the wind and snow out of her face.
The sixteen year old wouldn't have bothered with the freezing journey through a blizzard except for one thing. Lucius. The two of them had been exchanging owls since he had graduated Hogwarts that past June, and they often met at the Three Broomsticks during the students' visits to Hogsmeade. Narcissa always looked forward to these visits, she hadn't let go of her feelings for Lucius, despite the fact that the sixteen year old rarely got to see him. Yes, he could be infuriating, but he was also very charming, and Narcissa was willing to overlook his flaws.
The blonde finally reached the Three Broomsticks and she pushed the door open, quickly stepping into the warmth of the pub. She brushed the snow off her shoulders and arms, pulled her black leather gloves off, slid them into her pocket, and then lowered the hood, revealing her delicate, pointed features and blonde curls.
Her heels made a 'click click' sound on the wood floors as she walked to the bar and ordered a butterbeer. She paid for it with a few Sickles she pulled from her pocket and carried it to an empty booth that she could sit at to wait for Lucius. Once at the booth the teenager removed her coat, revealing her black skirt, pink blouse and choker necklace. One would think her stupid for wearing a skirt with no tights in the dead of Winter, but Narcissa had not dressed for practicality, she had dressed to impress, and that was far more important.

This was his life, run to a gathering of deatheaters, crack a curse, return the curse to the owner whose paying you millions of galleons to crack it. Run home, sleep for about a couple more hours, go on a ‘mission’ spy on some aurors, get a new curse. REPEAT. It was getting old, Lucius went from giving all the orders to now answering to two new leaders. His boss, and his well other boss. His last mission had taken him all the way to France. Of course while he was there he found a little gift for his betrothed. He couldn’t come home after this long of not paying the Three Broom Sticks a visit empty handed. Someone hit him over the head because he was starting to fall for the youngest Black Sister. He loved the way she was excited to see him, the fact that she wrote to him as if he were the only thing that mattered. The fact that she showed him attention in a world where attention was only given to the Dark Lord or a career path agents. She was giving him the attention he had wanted for some time after graduation at Hogwarts. Was that such a crime? To feel wanted, needed, and well loved? He had written back to her asking her to meet him after he got back from France. The Three Broomsticks, luckily it fell on a weekend where the students were allowed to frolic around. He wouldn’t want to have to break some rules, now would he?
Lucius left his work at home. For once he wanted to spend time with Narcissa and not with work knocking at the back of his brain. He hardly had time to leave the luggage and dig out the small box with the charming pair of emerald earrings. Glancing at the clock hanging on the wall he decided to not to change and to head straight over there. He couldn’t keep his lady in waiting. That was just rude. Lucius Malfoy was no rude to his lady. Stepping out onto the porch he then aparated outside the pub. He pulled a hand through the tangled blonde mess throwing the green cloak from his head. He yawned once untying the strings to reveal the dress shirt and pants. It was clear he had just gotten off duty. He hadn’t even shaved the 5 o’clock shadow was clear as daylight. He held the box in one hand, his wand was currently being stuffed in his back pocket. The cold gray eyes searched the premises. A few girls cringed under his gaze, he smirked once before spotting Narcissa. With a few long steps he met her side. He grinned, making his way closer to her. He moved a long strand of blonde hair behind her ear before placing a gentle kiss on the side of her cheek.
“Mon Amant,” Lucius stated. Things had changed since Hogwarts, he didn’t care who decided to watch. This was his betrothed after all. He pulled the chair directly behind her and placed it next to her. He sat down straddling the sides of the chair, he slowly slipped his arms around her waist holding her gently. He set his chin gently on her shoulder, kissing the side of her neck. He grinned against her soft skin before pulling away. “Miss Me?” Lucius asked quietly. He felt the small box in his hand poke him once before he remembered the gift. He slowly pulled the navy box out and leveled his hand in front of her waist, and slowly brought it up to her sight. “For you, Me Belle.” Lucius quietly whispered. He picked his chin up, placing another small kiss on the back of her head, amongst the mane of blonde hair. He had missed someone, he had missed Narcissa. This was different. Lucius never missed anyone. Lucius tightened his grip around her replacing his chin. ”How have you been, love?” He asked, his voice no more than a whisper.

NARCISSA ROSALIND BLACK CAUSE I'D RATHER WASTE MY LIFE PRETENDING THAN HAVE TO FORGET YOU FOR ONE WHOLE MINUTE Narcissa was just taking a sip of Butterbeer when the door of the Three Broomsticks opened once again and, along with a rush of cold air, Lucius walked in. She could have picked him out of a crowd of a million pale blonde men with finely chiseled faces, because she knew his face almost as well as her own. It was his face that she saw when she closed her eyes, his faces that swept through her dreams at night, and his face she was always searching for in a crowd, even if she knew he wasn't there.
It was only a moment later, and a few strides of his, and he was standing next to her, brushing some of her blonde hair behind her ear, and kissing her on the cheek. "Bonjour Lucius," She said, giving him one of her most dazzling smiles. She smiled a more secret smile when he wrapped his arm around her waist and began kissing her softly. She practically melted into his arms. This was what she had spent her days in class dreaming of, the moment that he would hold her in his arms, and whisper to her softly. Those moments, so precious, were few and far between, but for now they would have to do.
"Of course I missed you," She teased, a smile resting on her lips as she looked into his grey eyes, "But the real question is, did you miss me?" As if she even had to ask. Narcissa knew the answer to that question already, but she liked hearing him say it out loud rather than just assuming things. Besides, the way someone looked at you and the words they choose were vital in these kinds of situations, so she always payed very close attention to those things, because they could make all the difference in the world.
When Lucius held up the jewelry box and said it was for her Narcissa laughed. "Oh Lucius, you shouldn't have," She told him, but they both knew she was very pleased with the fact that he had brought her a gift. When she opened the box and saw the emerald earrings her smile grew. "They're beautiful," She whispered and set the box down on the table, looking over at him over her shoulder, "Thank you." At these words she leaned over and kissed him very gently, and briefly on the lips, so briefly one might think the kiss had been imagined.
"I have been bored," She said with a sigh. "Hogwarts holds nothing to interest me now that you're gone," She added, turning to look into his grey eyes once again. "It's ever so dull without you there," She told him, running a finger down his cheek slowly. "But there's nothing to be done about that I suppose." She sighed dramatically and let her hand drop from stroking his cheek, content with just looking at him for now. "But now, I'm sure you have been doing far more interesting things, what with all your traveling for work."
