Marlene groaned in frustration as she slammed her quill onto the table in front of her, splattering ink all over the parchment next to it. But at that moment in time she was beyond caring about the state of the parchment, for that splatter of ink was the only thing on it, much to her dismay. This Transfiguration essay was slowly killing her, and despite the fact she'd spent most of the evening working on it (well, that was debatable) the furthest she'd gotten was writing her name and the title. Homework, as most people knew, wasn't Marlene's favourite thing. In fact, most of the time, she never even bothered doing it. To Marlene, homework and any other writing element in classes was completely a waste of time. To be good at magic, you shouldn't need to write essays about it! The only important part was the practical element, and Marlene exceeded expectations of any NEWT student with this. It was common knowledge that Marlene was one of the most skilled duellers in the school and if she bothered to work in class she would probably be the top of the class. But this wasn't the case, and Marlene often come the bottom of her class because she simply refused to do work (and if she did, she rarely put effort into it). Today though, McGonagall had decided to give Marlene an ultimatum. This came after reading her last essay, which was nowhere near the standard McGonagall wanted her NEWT students to be and she had told Marlene that unless she re-did the homework to a satisfactory level she wouldn't be able to partake in any practical parts of the lesson. Hearing this, Marlene was distraught and was left with no other alternative than to actually do her homework. Marlene cursed McGonagall again under her breath and pushed the hair out of her eyes. It wasn't that she wasn't smart, because she was. She was able to pick up most things quicker than a lot of her classmates and she understood exactly everything her teachers told her, but she struggled actually getting it down on parchment. And she was easily distracted. Marlene looked out of the window outside and her mind began to drift off to other things...more important things. Like Quidditch! She instantly brightened at the thought of her favourite sport and she started to think about an upcoming match. I'll need to talk tactics with the rest of the team, she thought to herself. Then we can go down and train so that...By now she was off in her own little world and her homework was laid forgotten in front of her. A little part of her brain was telling her that she should really carry on with the homework, but the larger, less responsible part of her brain carried on thinking about Quidditch. words: 489 tag: anyone <3 notes: first Marly post!

people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open Orsi had no idea what to do! His life was full of Sharlan, the band, and sometimes James and his posy. Now they had all graduated. He was stuck a seventh year with absolutely no motivation and for a Ravenclaw that hung out with Hufflepuffs this wasn’t ideal. His grades were slipping and he had no idea how much longer he could keep up with the midnight practices. Eventually he was going to have to give up something, and something told him his Ravenclaw instincts wouldn’t appreciate what he gave up. He yawned slowly taking his time to look around the Library. This was so dull, he had a stack of textbooks up to his neck and his trusty camera at his side. The only stick present in Orsi life at the moment was that of drumsticks and he held them in the side of his pocket. If you asked him where his wand was, he had no idea at the moment. And cared even less about finding it. Now that Sharlan was a seer [which explained a lot] he never saw her. In her letters she wrote that this was the Ministry’s way of watching her to make sure she didn’t burst into flames—or something in that matter.
Everyone and their wizard brother was an Auror. That was such a wizard scene and Orsi didn’t want any part of it. Then why was he in Hogwarts? Well because you couldn’t go anywhere without a degree and he didn’t want to have to deal with his family on his own. Here he had Myron, and Kirley. Without them there would be no such thing as the upcoming band. Orsi yawned once his head dropping back and fourth between D.A.D.A and the silly class Divination. To bad Sharlan didn’t practice the real divination of reading tea leaves or watching crystal balls. Then she could help him with this dreaded subject. ”You set the right cup on the side…”Orsi tried to focus but he could feel his eyelids dropping beyond help. He slowly lifted his arm so he could set his head in his palm. Within seconds Orsi was head bobbing faster than James Potter did in Potions. He could feel himself starting to fall backwards. The chair rocked back and forth on the back two legs when finally. The feeling of falling kicked in last minute. ”GAH!Orsi shouted as he started free falling. In attempt to grab the desk he pulled three textbooks, a piece of parchment, and his camera onto the ground with him.
Orsi chuckled lying among all the things he pulled down with him. He would do that. He looked up to notice the back of Mars’ brunette head. He would knows her anywhere. She was one of the girls in his year that he got along with that belonged to Gryffindor. Although he didn’t quite agree with her Quidditch frenzy(He swore it was Gryffindor trait) she did enjoy rock music and since the Myron’s band was all about rock, they met eye to eye. The houses made a slight difference. ”Hey Marly” Orsi piped in for a second with a slight smile. She probably heard the crash. He shrugged his shoulders picking up his camera from the side. With a click he took one of the Gryffindor aged girl who had been sitting directly in back of him. Who until late was now over him. Orsi slowly pushed the textbooks away and ran a hand through his hair. That could have felt better. Maybe it was time to give it up, perhaps everything.
