( HISTORY ) : Marigold Travers and Steffan Parkinson arranged to marry. There was a fourteen year gap between the two of them, but that was not the point. The point was that the Travers were rich and the Parkinsons were almost bankrupt. Steffan was their only son and Marigold was an only daughter who was extremely spoilt and not very pleased to marry an aging old man. Still, she went ahead with the marriage after leaving Hogwarts, but with extreme dislike for her future husband right from the start.

It was barely over a year into their marriage that Marigold found herself pregnant with her first child. With luck, it would be a son and she wouldn’t have to go near her husband again. And it was a son. The Parkinsons had their heir. Her job was done. Marigold did try to look after her son, but she was quickly tired of the wailing baby. Plus, she was only eighteen! Staying alone in the mansion while Steffan was out working did not suit her. She soon took to going out during the day and exploring the Muggle world, amusing herself with watching them. She always made sure to get home before Steffan. Her mother had warned her that he had a temper, but Marigold had yet to see it. She wasn’t about to try either.

It was though her wanderings in the Muggle world that she got to know one Cadmon Frobisher. He was twenty one and extremely good looking. He was a photographer and Marigold had caught him photographing her. Marigold soon entered a whirlwind romance that lasted several months. She found out that she was pregnant again, certain that it was Cadmon’s. She was preparing to leave her husband and son when Steffan came back early one day and caught her packing her things. With a few drops of Veritaserum, Steffan learned the truth.

To say he was not pleased would be an understatement. He controlled his wife using the Imperius curse, hunted down the Muggle and got rid of him. He debated getting rid of the child as well, but decided against it. He would make sure she was the perfect model of a pureblood lady. That was the family Callista Dephine Parkinson was born into.

Her mother was no more capable of taking care of her than she could of herself and Callista and her brother was in the care of their house elf and a nanny. Callista went through all the lessons that were taught to be proper of a pureblood lady as well as being introduced to the pureblood ideals that her father took special care to inform his two children about. Callista was not a rowdy child, she was quiet, did not have a temper, and did not speak up when something was troubling her. By being that way, she got praise from her father who saw that as how a lady should behave.

Liz’s childhood went by with no memorable incidents. Her brother was off to Hogwarts and judging from his letter, extremely proud to be in Slytherin. Of course they had to be in Slytherin. It was the only thing expected of them. That, and to be a Death Eater. When it came to her turn, Callista had the choice to be in Ravenclaw. Thinking of her father’s face when he learned that she was in any other house but Slytherin, Liz started to argue with the Hat before it laughed and sent her on her way to Slytherin. Her Hogwarts years were much like her childhood. Liz was definitely more of a background person. She only spoke when spoken to, kept out of trouble unless she absolutely had to do something and excelled in her studies.

It was in the summer of her fifth year that something major happened. They had visitors to their mansion. It was not something that happened often. Her father and her brother welcomed the Dawlishes. Callista had been given a dress to wear for the day. They all settled down in the living room and with a drink in their hands, her life was changed. Her father announced that she was getting betrothed to the Dawlish boy. Like how she was taught, Liz maintained an outwardly surprised but pleasant expression. No, she did not like the boy. And now she was expected to marry him?

After the Dawlishes left, Callista remained in the living room, just sitting there and wondering what to do with her life from then on. It was a couple of minutes later that she heard a piercing scream, following by a bang. Her mother, whom she’d never really spoken to (because her father forbid it), came running into the living room, pulled her by her hand with remarkable force and started dragging her towards the front door. Her mother was clearly not well as her father had said. Liz heard snatches of words that made no sense to her. Her mother stopped by the front door, grabbed Liz by the shoulders, shook her hard and said ‘You’re a Frobisher, your father is Cadmon Frobisher and he is so much more the man than Steffan Parkinson will ever be. Now run!’

And after saying that, she let go of Callista and dashed towards her father, who had just appeared. Liz was not that inclined to run out of her house just because she’d been told that by her mother who was obviously more than a little insane. It wasn’t long before her mother was subdued and that incident was never spoken of again. That didn’t stop Callista from thinking about it, along with her impending marriage to someone who she absolutely cannot stand.

She’s now in her final year and has been in a relationship with Dawlish for a few years now. Callista wants out, but she doesn’t know how to do it. Will she even get out of it?
