lyrics by pink , template by rozz of caution 2.0 , banner by cel , wearing AWWClickForJames James passed back and forth within the tower. He had to leave it there, he wasn’t ready. James growled in frustration, that night it was so perfect. He knew Lily actually loved him, they kissed, they had laid together and fell asleep together, then why was asking her on a date so frightening? James had asked her out millions of times before, what made this different? Oh, possibly because she was going to say yes and show up. His heart was racing, well, here went nothing. It took all morning to think of such an idea. Lily knew something was coming; he was after all a puppy dog on a leash. The question was, she had no idea what was coming. He placed the letter on the front table in their common room before turning back around and facing the door. The letter was rather plain, it had her name in red letters and on the inside it simply said ‘Pond’ with a single Lily pedal. James knew Lily was bound to be back in the common room after her rounds. She would have to see it, and if not. Well, he would look like an idiot but that was okay. He hoped for the best. James quickly ran back up to his section of the tower. He stared in the mirror; he had to actually look like something Lily should be graced with. Not something she was stuck with.
James quickly struggled out of his white t-shirt pulling out a comfortable black one. He yanked it over his head to look back in the mirror. Great, he went from casual to flying practice. He turned opening up the trunk and pulling out his green patch work jacket. He smiled slipping it on. Did the two things even match? Black went with everything, right? If James hadn’t started avoiding Frank maybe he would have asked him to help him out. Frank usually had a decent sense of style. But lately James couldn’t even look the guy in the eyes. He was royally ticked out off and afraid of being called completely idiotic because Frank had finally lead James to act like someone Lily would want to date. How could he be ungrateful? So instead of causing a scene, he was just going to ignore him. James shrugged in the mirror, turning he pulled off the loose jeans to find some a little heavier in weight. He pulled them up and fastened his belt. He pulled his wand from the drawer and tucked it into his pocket. After his nightmare, he wasn’t leaving anywhere without it. He sighed, his eyes checking off his look, he was alright that’s when he met his head, in greater detail his hair.
James stood looking down at a bottle of hair gel Lorilyn gave him about a year ago. He never touched that stuff simply because he couldn’t run his hands through it, beside he liked the messed up hair look. This was so restricting. James winced as he slowly unscrewed the cap from the container. He put one finger in it and let a low cry out. “Ahh,” He paused looking back down to his finger. So, it didn’t eat him alive. He rubbed it in his hands then started rubbing it through his hair. Wincing, twitching and sniffing then snorting out the awful smell he sighed. He dropped both hands, he used just enough that it held back the locks of hair that enjoyed falling into his face. He smirked, it wasn’t half bad. Taking another small handful he maintained the rest of his hair. He could have done without the weird almost girly smell but eh, what could he say, the stuff wasn’t awful. Finally giving in about what he looked like he turned away from the mirror. He looked down to the small clock on his table and twitched. He was running out of time.
James pulled a basket out from underneath the bed before walking back into the common room. He slowly picked a pedal off a Lily and laid it next to the letter. It took him an hour to find a spell that would hold the pedals in place for at least two hours. “movando,” James muttered quickly before making a few steps and dropping a couple more pedals onto the ground. He continued this small trail all the way until the pond. He made a small circle with the pedals before stopping in front of the spot he had picked out. It was a little farther from what the eye could see back at the courtyard. James finished throwing them out before turning back to the spot in hand. He slowly put the basket down, digging through it. He pulled the blanket it out first, luckily it was one of the warmer days of October and the sky was clear. He then pulled the candlesticks out, lighting three candles. He pulled the croissants out, pausing for a moment he looked around. His eye caught the bouquet of Lily’s lying next to the basket. He placed a two plates out, tonight was going to be simple. He just wanted to get to know things he didn’t know about Lily.
He flattened the blanket out so it fell flat. He sighed, this was a lot of effort on James part. He couldn’t help but laugh, if only the guys could see him now. Gel in his hair, planning a romantic date, with Lily of all people, he shook his head. She was the only one that could do this to him. He already missed holding her, he missed the way her lips felt on his. How was he going to survive graduating and knowing he wouldn’t get to see her every day. James glanced down at the watch around his wrist. He was basically out of time. He turned to look back towards the castle, no sight of her yet. He let the bouquet of fuchsia lily’s in the middle of the small picnic area. He held the last Lily of the pedals he was laying out all over campus in his hand. He sighed quietly sitting down on the blanket. He laid back starring up at the clouds. He laid the Lily over his heart and his eyes closed slowly. Was this even real? He wished he could write his mum and tell her all about it. How her and dad’s picnic basket worked perfectly, how her locket would look beautiful against Lily’s skin. He missed her so much, she would have loved Lily.

She groaned. Lily was not having a good day. And if you asked why, she probably would not be able to tell you why. It was just one of those days when everything anybody would do would just irritate her to no end. These kind of days were impossible to fix because there was just nothing you could do about it! She walked into the Head's common room, coming back from her N.E.W.T. Herbology class. Herbology was her least favorite subject, but she had to take it to become an Auror like she wanted. She threw her bag on the floor, and it slid to the table in between the couches. She dropped face-first on the couch and groaned loudly. She did not hear anybody else bustling around, so she knew that James was not here. Her heart dropped. Where was he?
Lily got up and looked around. A small letter crossed her vision. Her curiosity got the best of her; she grabbed it and read it. "Lily" and "Pond" was written across it and nothing else. She saw a Lily petal on it and grinned. So what did this mean? Was she supposed to go out there and meet him? Was that his way of asking her out? She didn't want to be rude and not meet him there, so she practically ran up stairs and pulled out some clothes that she deemed suitable to meet James in. She decided on a striped, blue dress, a pair of blue flats, some blue earrings and a matching cuffed bracelet. She sprayed a bit of her perfume that her mother sent her not too long ago and fixed her hair up quickly. There was no telling how long James had been waiting for her out by the pond, but she did not want him to wait any longer for her arrival.
She pushed the door open and stepped out. Lily saw a trail of petals outside. Giving them a strange look, she followed where they led her. Considering that there was a matching petal by the letter she received back in the common room, she assumed they were from James. She followed the petals all the way out to the pond, smiling the entire walk. She saw James out on a picnic basket and grinned. She walked down to wear he was. By then, he was facing the opposite way. She quietly walked up behind him and blew in his ear. "Hello, love." She greeted sweetly.

lyrics by pink , template by rozz of caution 2.0 , banner by cel , wearing AWWClickForJames How did love get this amazing after he felt like the world was going to tumble down around him? He wasn’t positive, but he was not going to complain about it. He yawned once more, he then heard a voice. James opened his eyes in time to hear the quiet “Hello Love,” James quickly sat back up turning to see Lily. His smile brightened, she looked absolutely stunning. He jumped to his feet. Stunning wasn’t even the word he was looking for. He paused, he needed something, oh that’s right. He needed words, and he couldn’t find any. “Wow,” James finally mumbled quietly. He took Lily’s hand in his, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. “You look absolutely beautiful Ms. Evans,” He turned to face her, the smile spreading from almost ear to ear. James glance caught the end of the trails of Lily. James smirked nodding towards the trail. “So, was that puppy enough for you?” James asked simply. Oh if Sirius knew, even Remus would probably call him a softie.
His eyes turned back towards the picnic area. He held an arm up for her to take. He made his way back towards the picnic. He used the other arm to present the area to her. He pulled the top of the basket open. It was the same picnic basket that his mother and father used when they traveled to France on their honeymoon. That wasn’t the only thing that stood close to James heart. Something that was hidden in his green jacket pocket. Not now though, not now. “Hungry, M’lady?” James questioned, quirking an eyebrow. Luckily he had caught Lily before she would have had the chance to go to the great hall. His father gave him the suggestions of croissants, fair shea butter, the seedless vine grapes, macknea cheese and several varities of meats. Sure it had probably cost James a little, but his father was more than happy to help. Ever since the fatal day, James hadn’t talked to Harrison about anything besides the standard “How are you, How are you really?”
When Harrison heard something other then the words mum he jumped to the occasion. Harrison had been trying to get past the devastating loss but perhaps James wasn’t allowing him to. Harrison was the one that suggested to tame the mop on his head. James moved nervously, his hand reaching up to run his fingers through his hair when they froze after touching the stiff locks of hair. “Hm,” James murmured. He wasn’t quite sure if he liked this. James leaned over pecking Lily on the cheek. He smiled, “So, Ms. Evans relieve me of my stress, how am I doing?” James asked. He had never had to be ‘cute’ before when taking a girl out. Usually they just wanted to lay around and well make out the entire time. Lily was so much different, so much more than just a make out buddy. He wanted to know every bit of her. James picked a grape from the gold tray popping it into his mouth. He paused.
James pulled another grape from the stand, the stem sticking in the grape. He smirked turning to Lily. “Let’s play a game. Mm?” James plucked another grape this time it didn’t have the stem. He held the two grapes. “If you pick a grape and the stems still attached you have to ask a question to me, anything you want to know. About anything, even dirt on Sirius if you’d like,” James replied quirking an eyebrow. “Without the stem, I get to ask you anything?” James tightened his hand on hers. He smiled broadly towards her direction. “What do you say Lily, you up for it?”

Lily could not help the smile that crossed her face. It seemed natural to grin and her love. An awkward feeling overcame her as he stared at her. What was he thinking? Oh, how she wished she was a Leginmens. She looked at at him as he told her she looked beautiful. "Why, thank you, sweetheart," she reached up and kissed his cheek, "You don't look half bad yourself. she smiled. Lily looked back towards the trail as he asked her and gestured to it; she giggled, "Quite." She replied with a smile.
She took his arm naturally. Lily followed him to the picnic table, a smile on her face. "You did this?" she asked. It was so sweet and cute. Very much unlike the James she once knew. He had definitely changed. Maybe there was more - much more - than she thought had changed about James. It was very obvious that he did change. One would have to be deaf and blind to overlook it. Or maybe just harsh. Depends on the person supposedly. Lily smiled. She had not eaten yet, and she previously was upset about that, being a bit hungry. Now, it was all alright by her. She definitely would not have passed this opportunity up. She nodded, not knowing what exactly to say. "Did you make all of this?" she asked. The James she knew probably would not have made it, but who know? Maybe he did want to thoroughly shock her - as if she already wasn't - further and make her goods.
She sat down on the picnic blanket. He kissed her cheek, and she smiled. "Well, Mr. Potter," she turned, looking him directly in the eye, "You are doing a fine job. Stop worrying too much." she assured with a sweet smile on her face. She followed his action and reached for a grape. Her red eyebrows rose as he suggested a game. "Oh?" she listened to him explain the game. Normally the redhead would have declined without a second thought. But she had to think about this. She wanted to let go of the high-maintenance Lily everybody knew and come out as this new Lily who would escape danger and laugh. She plopped the grape she had in her hand in her mouth. "Alright," she hesitated, "I'll go along with it. I'll play." she smiled. "I'll start," she declared, reaching over and taking a grape out. She checked it; she saw no stem. She looked up at him, peering through her eyelashes.

lyrics by pink , template by rozz of caution 2.0 , banner by cel , wearing AWWClickForJames James smirked as Lily told him he didn’t look half bad. So the glue that was very stuck to his head was well worth it? He smiled. Well if she said it was worth it, it was definitely was worth it. James smile only grew as Lily agreed that the display was puppy enough for her. She sounded shock when she asked if he had done all of this. James slowly nodded. “I had to call a pretty good reinforcement, but he okayed the plan. The old man always knows best.” James replied quietly. Harrison really did always know best. He had nailed this to a tee, it just meant that Lily and his mother had the same taste in corny dates. She sounded even more surprised when she asked if he had made all of it. James slowly nodded again. “Yeah, a few mess ups, a few extra spells, early mornings in the kitchen, yeah it was made. I hope it doesn’t kill us,” James replied quirking an eyebrow in a rather over barring joking manner.
James face brightened even more when she said his name. She replied that he needed to stop worrying. He raised an eyebrow in rather a large amount of surprise. “Well it’s hard trying to be perfect,” James replied. “Because you deserve perfection,” James smirked once more, pecking her on the lips. James smiled when Lily agreed to play the game. He had to start off easy and casual. If she freaked out at the beginning there was no leading up to the rather more interesting questions. This was a perfect opportunity for James to learn all of Lily’s secrets. He shifted so he could watch her pick her grape. No stem, he smirked. “Aha,” James couldn’t help but let a chuckle form. She turned to look at him, looking under her thick lashes with those emerald jewels. He bit down on his lips, what did he want to know about Lily Evans.
He knew the basic things, maybe he wanted deeper questions for these. He could get to know her truly better. He wanted to ask her how many others she had been with, what she saw in Snivey. But he couldn’t bring himself to ruin the game at the very beginning so he decided to play it simple. “What are your favorite muggle activities?” James asked, he was always fascinated by muggle things. Some of the sports they played were absolutely engaging and James sometimes wished he could have joined a sports team and played for a while. His father would have not approved of that. “I do enjoy the games during winter. Men strap long stakes on their feet and go bounding down endless hills in the fleet of the snow! So, thrilling!” James replied quietly. Realizing it wasn’t his turn he slightly scolded himself. He pulled a grape off preparing for after Lily’s question. No stem as well, maybe if he was quiet about it, he could pretend he hadn’t pulled this one. He turned to meet her, he was incredibly interested in her answer. Muggles were fascinating creatures.

Lily smiled back as James. She could not hide the genuine shock that James Potter did something for himself without the assistance of any house elf or "lesser being" or servant of his. That was how he acted like he was when they were younger, so Lily never really got that thought out of her mind. Lily laughed. Yes. It always seemed that fathers knew best. Was that just a coincidence, or fact of life? Well, Lily would never know. She would never be a father. A mother, hopefully. Her thoughts somehow trailed to her and James being parents. Her face blushed a deep red when she realized what she was thinking of exactly. She snapped back to reality to hear him answer her about the food. She laughed a bit awkwardly, still recovering from her thoughts, "Yeah. You and me both." she looked at him, a small smirk on her face.
She watched him as James told her that she deserved perfection. She chuckled, pecking him back. She turned to face him, looking him directly in the eye. "James," she started, her tone light but serious all the same, "When are you going to realize that whatever you do is perfection to me?" she asked. It was true. He could have messed up every dish in the basket, he could have failed at finding a way to bring her down to the pond; it would still be perfection to her because it came from James, her James. She leaned over and kissed his cheek sweetly.
She braced herself for his question. Was he going to ask something completely embarrassing? She turned her head to the side. Her favorite muggle activities? "Um," she had to think about it. Every time she had went back to the Muggle world it was to check up on her family. She had not done much anything for 'fun' in the Muggle World in a long time since the war broke out. She was too worried to do anything. She listened to him go on about skiing; she was sure he did not know that that was what it was called, so instead of bringing it up she simply chuckled. "Before the war broke out, I always went to the park and just sat there. Maybe read a book?" she admitted. She looked down at her lap, "Maybe it's childish, but it made me feel invincible like how children think they are." Lily looked back up, a faint tint on her cheeks.
Lily looked down and saw that the grape he grabbed did not have a stem either. "No stem?" She asked, just to clarify. She didn't want that. Lily was awful at coming up with questions to ask. She thought. "If you could go back in time, and prove to the past us that we would end up here, on a date, how would you do so?" she asked. She was quite interested. Lily never, in a million years, would have guessed that she would wind up on a date with the incompetent, the insufferable James Potter. But now, she couldn't think of anything else she wanted to do.

lyrics by pink , template by rozz of caution 2.0 , banner by cel , wearing AWWClickForJames James couldn’t help but smirk, he had always been well a rather cocoky gentleman and Lily was doing nothing but boosting ego. Thankfully, his ego had been a little shot lately. So at the moment Lily was just attempting to repair something that had been long gone. Whatever he did, was perfection to her. Well, that was some mighty change of heart in Lily’s case. James shrugged his shoulders. “I wouldn’t say that Lily, love.” He reminded gently. “I can think of quite a few ways, I would be far from perfection, but you darling. You are always and will always be perfection to me…” James stammered for a moment, she kissed his cheek and his smile grew. Was that even possible? He listened to her comment, the park? James closed his eyes what did the park look like again? He pictured large rolling carts traveling along railing up and down and around. And there was spinning wheels with lights all over. His father was never one for parks, he said they were loud, over priced and dirty. Wait, that wasn’t a park. And why would Lily spend her time sitting and reading when she could have been on the spinning wheel of lights.
The park, he could hear Remus in the back of his head, giving him a lecture about how silly he was for not knowing the basics of muggles. Could anyone blame him? He grew up in a family that never needed muggle entertainment. Besides the point, he couldn’t think of this ‘park’ if he wanted to. “I believe I know what a park is,” James stated. He opened his eyes. “But perhaps, I am wrong. Love, why ever would you read in a place with carts that roll faster then muggle mobiles? And the wheel of spinning lights? It takes you higher than any normal building, and lovers go on with large overbearing imitations of animals. And of course there is the food, I have never been but I heard the large breaded stick is delicious,” James and his lack of knowledge. Sometimes it bothered him. “I’ve always wanted to go, my father was hardly for the park,” James rolled his eyes. “The carts looked quite thrilling! And muggles are suppose to scream when they lunge over the head of the mountain and put their hands up. Is that for their safety?” James wasn’t quite sure why anyone put their hands up in a moving vehicle.
James froze when Lily caught him with his no stem. That was so unfair he liked hearing about muggles. On top of being caught she asked a question that sent his head whirling around. James rubbed the back of his head. What would he do? Well he would know he didn’t have to put much effort in getting her attention. Obviously he wasted a lot of time trying to woo her when it did the opposite. “Perhaps,” James started trying to find the right words to describe the mess in his brain. “Less talking, and more doing?” James thought this through. “If I would have showed you how much I loved you, instead of talked about it. Maybe you would have thought my words to be a bit more genuine.” James replied nodding slowly. “And of course, I possibly could have tried less, maybe let the chess pieces fall and see where they landed. I’m not quite sure, if I was given that moment to go back, if I would change much,” James replied looking back to emerald orbs. “It was worth the heartache, because now, you were well worth the fighting…and at least now. We have stories to tell the k-everybody?” James had almost slipped and said kids. Merlin knew he wanted it but did Lily? It was so soon. James leaned over and stole a kiss from her. “You were and always will be worth the fighting,”

Lily smiled at James. Was this really the boy who she had previously despised everything about him? Was this really the boy who had basically stalked her until she was sixteen? Was this really the boy who asked her out every single day that they were in school together for at least 6 years? She found it hard to believe. So much had changed about him, and her as well. His actions from this year had changed her perspective about him. She did not despise everything about him anymore. She was falling for him; she was falling for him hard.
She smiled when he mentioned that he knew what a park was. She knew for a fact that James was the only son of a pureblooded family. His parents must have never exposed him to many things muggle. Lily could try and understand that. Sending a muggle into the magic world was very odd for her; she would assume that it would feel the same if the roles were switched. "What?" Lily looked thoroughly confused when she heard James's response. She listened to James's banter. Lily nodded, a smile coming back to her face.
"James, honey," she grinned at him, "You're thinking of a different kind of park. You're thinking about an amusement park. I'm talking about just a regular park. Amusement parks are wild and crazy; they have roller coasters and bumper cars and ferris wheels and cotton candy." she giggled, "and no. It's not for their safety. It's out of adrenaline, I believe." She smiled warmly at him. "I'm talking about normal parks. Normal parks just have benches and swings and teeter-totters and things like that. Those kind of parks are more for young, small children. Like babies." she added. She had always liked regular parks better than amusement parks.
Lily sat quietly, her hands folded daintily in her lap. "Maybe," she mused quietly at his first thought. He continued and she listened intently. Her mouth slowly formed into a sure smile. She heard his little slip up, but she didn't say anything about it. She kissed him back, a smile still on her lips. She pulled away and hugged him close to her. She smiled, "See, if you had said something like that and not have bothered me endlessly, I maybe - just maybe - would have fallen for you." She admitted, pecking the side of his face quickly.

comment, tags; marissa=Lily , notes; Female Ferrets Spinning xD It was the best I could come up with. , status;complete.
lyrics by pink , template by rozz of caution 2.0 , banner by cel , wearing AWWClickForJames James wonder continued as Lily explained that what he thought of was an amusement park. Amusement? Truly the name spoke all it’s glory, an amusement park. So the park you had to amuse yourself? But the Amusement Park amused you without effort. Genius! He had no idea why people picked on muggles, the entire naming was brilliant in his opinion. James eyes widened when Lily explained more, bumper cars? Cotton…Candy? James couldn’t help himself, muggle things blew his mind. “Cotton Candy?” James pictured a family of well rounded muggles partaking of candy strapped to the others back. It was a strange picture, but James would sure want Lily in some cotton candy. “The clothes are made of candy? Now why doesn’t Honeydukes come out with a Cotton Candy line?” He tried picturing a ferris wheel. He did know what a ferret was, perhaps a ferris was the female version of the ferret? I was feminine wasn’t it? He had no idea. He pictured female ferrets strapped to a wheel spinning round and round, poor things. He wondered how that amused people? Did they wait until the female ferrets lost their lunch?
“I’m not quite sure I agree with ferris wheels, well, is it fun to watch?” James asked Lily. His train of thought was quite convinced this was what amusement parks were all about. Being amused, he hardly found spinning female ferrets amusing. Then there were the roller coasters? How the bloody hell was that amusing? He pictured coasters on his mother’s coffee table with wheels underneath. Perhaps for grandparents when they could no longer move their own coaster? Why were their grandmothers at this ‘wild and crazy place’. Then she replied that the carts that moved, people did raise their hands for safety but for an adrenaline rush. James cocked his head to the side, muggles were strange, but they fascinated him at the same time. “If I were to let go of my broom during a game, which would be disastrous! Do the muggles know they are risking their lives? Who is foolish enough to let go of the car they are steering over that metal and so high up!” James was quite concerned for these muggles, were they suicidal?
He then pictured Lily sitting among a slide reading. He smiled, she was so sweet, innocent and beautiful. He knew what slides were, he was now recalling a park. He went to one, once long ago. With a babysitter. He nodded slowly. Lily stated that it was for babies. He nodded. “Yes at the least the babies hold onto the slides, while their parents at amusement parks are letting go of the carts. The irony,” James replied smiling. James laughed when Lily replied maybe that would have worked. James Potter’s ego had been shot down a little, he had lost his essential James Potterness. It didn’t mean it was all gone. He shrugged as if he didn’t really have much else to say. Those his last sentence won, he smirked. She kissed his cheek, James wrapped an arm around her pulling her close. He set his head on hers, smiling softly. “It’s true, love. You’re always going to be the one I fought for,” James let a small sigh form. “Your turn love,” James replied pulling the grapes closer, the hard part was over for now. He wanted another question out of Lily. “May we go see the female ferrets spin on wheels, and this cotton candy sometime?” James asked, kissing the top of her head.

Lily nodded, then grew confused when James spoke again. She laughed wholeheartedly. "No, no," she said, "Cotton candy is basically just spun sugar. But they add food coloring to make it colors." Lily did not eat a lot of cotton candy, but Petunia had when they were younger. Lily had some every now and then, but she did not eat excessive amounts. Lily shrugged when James asked about ferris wheels. Personally, Lily liked them a bit. They were romantic for the most part, but she did not like being at the peak of them all, "Yeah, I suppose. I like them." She laughed a bit, and shrugged daintily. "I'm not sure! I'm not as fond of roller coasters as I am ferris wheels. Far too scary." she admitted.
All of this speaking of muggle things made Lily a bit sad. It made her realize that she missed the innocence of the Muggle world much more than she let on. Lily chuckled when James made his comment about babies being the smarter ones, or something like that. Lily had zoned out a bit, getting distracted by how she still wanted to be in touch with her Muggle background.
She snapped back to the reality. Reality. She was in Hogwarts, not her home in the Muggle world. She was with James, not her family. Lily was pulled close to James, and she buried her head next to him. She smiled, "I love you, James." she murmured, never wanting to let him go. But she did. She leaned up, her back straight up as she grabbed for a grape. She examined it. No stem again. She turned her head towards James. "Of course we can!" Lily replied to his question.

lyrics by pink , template by rozz of caution 2.0 , banner by cel , wearing AWWClickForJames James quirked an eyebrow, this cotton candy was not cotton at all. It was candy in a puffy cotton like manner. He now knew what this cotton candy was, and now he really wanted to partake of some. James couldn’t help himself, when Lily said she found the spinning female ferrets far more entertaining than the rolling coasters. He supposed that he would like spinning ferrets far more then he liked rolling coasters. “I like the ferris wheel too,” James replied, quite blindly. When the two would go to the first amusement park, Lily was going to have a lot of explaining to do. Lily replied that she was scared of the coasters. James smiled, a rather wild grin. He supposed the coasters were flat, they couldn’t possibly be terribly to scary. You set glasses on coasters, how scary could they be? He hugged Lily tighter. “Don’t worry love, I’ll protect you from the coasters!” James had no idea what he was talking about, but it was still James none the less. And he was bound to protect Lily from anything that ever crossed their paths, even coasters.
James swore he saw a glint of sadness cross those gorgeous eyes. Had he done something wrong? Had he said to much, his heart ached. Why wasn’t Lily happy? His goal had become to make her happy all the time, this was possibly the worst he could ever encounter. At least when she was mad at him, she felt happiness inside. He bit down on his lip. “Lily, lovely. What is the matter?” He questioned watching her, he couldn’t possibly have upset her, could he? He felt her burry her head against him and his heart ached once more, how he could he sit next to someone he loved so much and not feel the sorrow she was showing. She murmured that she loved him, he felt slightly better. Still, something was bothering her. And he needed to know why before he self combusted. James watched Lily for a second, she acted as if she was okay, but was she really? Girls did that weird thing where they said they were fine but inside they wanted you to ask them what’s wrong, but then they get mad at you for not believing them. He had no idea what to do, and he surely didn’t want to ruin this night.
He watched as she grabbed a grape, he still didn’t want to let her off the hook. She had replied to his earlier question of that they could most definitely go one day. He couldn’t help but let a grin pass his lips. He loved doing things like muggles did, but he couldn’t possibly let her off once again this easy. James placed a hand under her chin to have her look him in the eyes. He eyed her grape and then smiled. “Why the grim look Lily darling?” He questioned. “None of this, “I’m fine, nothing’s wrong, silly girl nonsense either” James replied with a rather large grin. He knew he won this round, Lily couldn’t lie to him. Her eyes were gorgeous and not only were they amazing to look at, they also told most of her feelings. He grinned once more, brushing the hair from her face, he placed a kiss on her forehead, his arms re circling around her, he never wanted to let go.

Lily smiled brightly at her boyfriend. Her boyfriend. Her boyfriend. Sure, Lily had had several boyfriends beforehand. But never would Lily have expected James to be her boyfriend. The blasted little prick would never quit stalking her until late last school year. It was a weird picture, seeing them together and not arguing over the simplest of things. The redhead used to have the deepest and utmost hatred towards the current Head Boy. And now? Oh, Lily was just falling in love with him. Her friends got a kick out of the news for sure. She did not even want to think of telling her parents about this. The Evans' were very protective, so Lily was anxious about it. There was no telling. Not to mention, this was the same boy Lily had been complaining about for the past seven years in letters and every vacation she came home.
She giggled when James said he would protect her from the coasters. She grinned widely. She felt like telling him that they weren't those kind of coasters, but decided against it. She would do it later on in the couple's life. Lily looked sadly at her boyfriend. She shrugged, "Oh, it's-it's nothing. I'm fine." she lied. No, she wasn't exactly "fine" per se, but she was just homesick. It happened every school year when she was at Hogwarts. Lily loved her home in the Muggle World, but she still had not completely and fully accepted that she did not belong in that world, her old world. The magical world was her home, and she was going to have to adapt one way or another. She didn't particularly feel like talking about it though, not wanting to ruin this date.
The redhead acted like she was fine, smiling at him, not wanting him to worry about her despair and longing to be back in the Muggle world. His hand came under her chin and lifted her face to look him in the eye. She cursed under her breath. He had figured out her - and every other girl - plan and excuse when they did not want to talk about it. His hand brushed across her face, moving her hair out of her emerald eyes. Both of her hands tightly gripped his, "I suppose I..." she trailed off, "I suppose I just miss the Muggle World..." she admitted. "Things were so much more simple."

lyrics by pink , template by rozz of caution 2.0 , banner by cel , wearing AWWClickForJames James watched Lily, he felt awful. He probably didn’t help the fact that he was pure blood and his little knowledge of the real muggle world. He only knew things he watched on the television and read about. And let’s face it, he hardly had time to read a book, and couldn’t hardly sit still to watch anything on the tv. He didn’t know how to make her feel better either, what was he suppose to do? Wear something muggle? An I love muggles t-shirt? Merlin knew he would at a drop of a hat for Lily. He would do anything to make her feel better. He hated the upset facial expression that crossed her features. He held her hands as tight as he could with reasonable fear of accidently hurting her. He bit down on his lip. He wasn’t sure how to fix it, he knew almost nothing about muggles. “I’m sorry love,” James replied, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. Lily could always go home for a weekend, it was possible. And if no one granted permission, James had his ways to get her there.
“Would a trip home help at all love?” He asked, playing with the ends of her hair. He seriously had no idea what to do. The full moon was rapidly approaching and he couldn’t prevent it, and he would never leave Remus to himself, even if he was spending oodles of time with his new pal Longbottom. He would have to give his time to Lily, Remus, Quidditch, and then breathing. He let a slow breath out before leaning his head on top of Lily’s. “If you aren’t granted permission, I have ways, so don’t let that stop you,” He replied simply. He didn’t want this date to turn into such a somber state. He perhaps failed at this dating scene. His mind was so full, he couldn’t even remember what exams he had coming towards him at this moment. Hopefully he could recall everything he learned. “It may be easier…but would you ever be content going back to it completely?” James couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt asking such a horrible question.
His real answer, was he good enough for her to leave the muggle world behind? Did he mean that much to her? What if one day, she decided it was to much and decided to be one of the witches that turned in her wand to continue as a normal muggle and have her memory erased. James stomach dropped just thinking about such a horrible idea. His Lily, leaving the world for good. Of course her parents would be thrilled. He bit down on his lip, he was trying, but maybe his trying wasn’t good enough. Maybe if that’s what she wanted, she could do it. Maybe he was over thinking everything? He shook his head, he finally got what he wanted, and now it was possibly leaving. “You…wouldn’t leave…would you,” If Lily asked for him to live as a muggle, James wasn’t quite sure if he could do it. He loved Lily, but could he leave Sirius, James, his father, Peter, Adison, Noelle, everyone he knew and loved for Lily. Something in the back of his head said yes, and that scared him.

To say that Lily had never been tempted to turn in her wand and become a Muggle permanently would be a complete and utter lie. Often when she got overwhelmed, she felt like doing so, but there were things that were keeping her in this world, this world that she loved so much. There were her friends Natalie, Emmeline, Frank, even Alice. Now there was James. She definitely did not feel like going anywhere as long as James was around and still hers. A smile graced her features as James squeezed her hands. That made her feel a little bit better. She knew that he would always be there. She shrugged as he kissed her forehead, "It's okay, sweetheart. I'm just..." she searched her brain for the right word, "bittersweet." She said indefinitely. That wasn't the word she was searching for. Maybe homesick was better off. "And a tad bit homesick." She wanted to go home, see her parents again, but she went just last month. She did miss her mother and father, but she didn't know if they wanted her back practically every weekend.
She chuckled. "I was thinking about that just now." She continued, "It would help, but I'm not sure if that's what I need..." she replied, "Does that even make sense?" she laughed. She loved being a Muggle, but she loved being a witch too. Being a witch just felt like it was what she was meant to do in her life. But her head felt like she should stay a Muggle. "Going back to being a Muggle?" She asked. She'd be lying if it hadn't crossed her mind. She wasn't going to lie to James. "I've thought about it. But..." she trailed off, "I don't think I'd be completely happy with being a Muggle." Still grasping his hand, she rubbed her thumb in circles around his fist.
Lily mindlessly thought it over for a moment. She wanted to some times. Sometimes, she did not want to put up with these problems that came with becoming a witch. But other times, she did not want to leave for any reason. Not only was being a wizard a thousand times better than being a muggle, but she had met all of these great people along the way. She heard James ask her if she would leave. She turned around, facing him entirely, "James Potter," she said seriously, "I would never do that to you. Becoming a Muggle would be easier for me, but I wouldn't want you to have to deal with that. I vow to never leave you to become a Muggle." She ended her miniature monologue by kissing him sweetly on his lips.
