Quiet footsteps made their way quickly across the lawn, the grass crunching softly underneath with every foot fall of the black shoes. The shadow moved quickly so as not to be seen, cloak billowing out from behind with every stride. Long brown hair could be seen flowing in the strong wind, moving just as the cloak did. Long pants, black in color, made soft sounds of fabric on fabric as each leg moved past the other at the quick pace. A blue long-sleeved shirt could be seen as an arm would swing in and out of sight from under the cloak with each stride. It was night time, not the appropriate time for any student to be out of bed and far past curfew, but this one had not qualms about making the journey through rule breaking. No one had seen her leaving anyway and they probably would not see her returning either. She was barely noticed even when she was standing in plain sight anyway. It was just the type of person she was, easily looked over. That was the way it should be anyway. Even so, she still had to be careful. Just her movement across the lawn could attracted an unwanted gaze from any of the windows of the castle that loomed behind her.
It was hard trying to sneak out at such a time, but only until she reached the treeline of the forest. Once she was there she moved quietly, as if she were one with the night. It was not such a hard thing to imagine though, with what she was. Of course she knew that not many people in school suspected if any at all. Only certain people knew, most being professors since they really had to know being professors and all. It made her feel a bit isolated though, always holding herself back in fear of the consequences which awaited her. She already went through that and she had no desire to do it once more. Once upon a time Hogwarts had been a place which she sought comfort in, but now it seemed like all that was fading away and all she wanted to do was leave. Not that she really had anywhere to go anyway aside from home. The thought did not please her too much as she did not want to be stuck at home all the time either. What Kira really wanted was to have a place to belong, for people to not care about what she was. Muggles would call her a monster and wizards would want to always keep a close eye on her to be sure she was under control. Such a confined life to live and very limiting in options for careers.
Her eyes narrowed for a moment before she let out a sigh and raised her eyes to the sky. It was a moonless night, making everything darker than usual. It mattered little to her though, she could still see just fine. Upon closer inspection one might notice the red tinge to her eye color which had not been there before. Whatever it was that allowed vampires to see clearly at night was what made their eyes an eerie red and so when her eyes adjusted to the dark they would start to change in color or even when her more inhuman qualities emerged in general. Kira could force the change to occur, but there was usually little need for that. Her trek into the forest would probably keep her out for quite a while. She felt sleepless tonight, but she did not want to wake anyone else up. Aside from that she wanted to feel the cool air on her face without the chance of getting caught out of bed. At least in the forest she probably would not be seen by any staff, though it was more dangerous. There was a confidence about her though, as if she could take on whatever the forest threw at her. It made her seem quite relaxed as she walked as well.
