- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Being a single mother and a full time teacher couldn't be easy for anyone. But luckily there was a thing called "babysitters", and Sadie was lucky to have such a good babysitter. Her five year old daughter, Caroline had been picked up in kindergarden by her babysitter named Clarissa. A girl in her late teens that needed the money and was a great playdate to Caroline. Sadie hadn't the money to own a car, so she rode her bike everyday. The trip wasn't long and it was fine for now. Now, she was home and was looking forward to spend a cosy evening with herself and her daughter and maybe a good book after Caroline had been tucked in bed.
Clarissa had a habit with locking the front door and that made Sadie feel more safe. So Sadie found her key and placed it in the door and the door opened up. "Caroline! I'm home, honey!" She called to her daughter and the little brunette came running to her mother standing in the door. Sadie sat down on her knees and hugged her daughter tight and gave her a peck on the cheek. Then Clarissa followed and Sadie smiled at her. "Thank you so much, Clarissa. I have no idea what I should do without you." She said with a smile while finding money in her wallet.
Clarissa smiled, got her money and left. And after she walked out of the door, Sadie locked the door tightly. Then she took off her shoes and found some slippers. Sadie saw Caroline came towards her with a smile around her lips. "Mommy, I'm hungry.. Caroline said and Sadie smiled at her, walking to the kitchen with the girl following her closely. "What can I tempt you with tonight, honey?" She asked while opening the cupboards, hearing her stomach rumble. "Mac and cheese?" She noticed how Caroline nodded, smiling all over her face. That had to mean yes.
Sadie started making mac and cheese. When she thought about it she could make it much easier with magic, but she refused. She was fed up with magic. Besides, Caroline hadn't showed any signs on being a witch. Yet. But she had some werewolf traits. It didn't made Sadie love her daughter any less, she was just concerned and often she wondered if she would be like her father, Fenrir Greyback. After several minutes of cooking the mac and cheese was done and Sadie called her daughter to dinner. Caroline came to the table and in the same moment Sadie poured some over at Caroline's plate she heard someone pulling hard in the door. Could it be...? Sadie sighed and heard Caroline screaming, so she hurried over to her, lifting her up and hugging her tightly. "Shh, Caroline.. Don't worry.. Mommy is here." As if that was going to help. He would come in somehow.
Sadie then heard glass splintch. It was their frontdoor and Caroline screamed louder than before. But not because of the glass, because of the dark man standing in the door, looking straight at Caroline. Caroline had seen him several times before, but it was dark where he was standing, so it was obvious that she couldn't recognize him. But it was in fact her father, Fenrir Greyback. Sadie just remained seated with her daughter hugged into her, not letting go. She just looked at Fenrir. Was she too scared to talk to him?

It was two days since the last full moon and, naturally, two days since Fenrir’s last werewolf transformation. He still felt the after-effects of it on his body, both his weary muscles and the sting of the most recent cuts and scratches. Should he have gotten used to it after transforming every month for the last thirty-two years? Possibly. He didn’t really think so, though. No matter how many times he experienced it, the transformation itself would always be mind-numbingly painful, and the wounds he always acquired during the night had certainly not become any less deep over the years. Still, he loved his lycanthropy. He had been taught to be proud of what he was, and as much as he suffered for it, he was. Sure, he was more or less incapacitated for a full day afterwards, but that was something he could cope with. The day after that again, he would feel much better. Still tired and even more irritable than usual, but better nonetheless.
He needed to see her, though, no matter how tired he might be. He needed to see both of them, Sadie and Caroline. It had been weeks since he had last ventured to muggle London to see them, and in a strange way, he missed them. After all, with the exception of his half-sister, they were the only family he knew. He’d heard rumors about Conwenna having had more children since she’d abandoned the two of them sixteen years ago, but he didn’t know those potential siblings and had no interest in getting to know them either. They had never been part of his life. Caroline, on the other hand, was his daughter – his five year old daughter, growing up to be more like her mother every time he saw them. Merlin, Sadie Jones was a beautiful woman. Too beautiful, almost, which often caused him to wonder if there were other men in her life. That thought bothered her every time it popped up, and he made sure to remind her that he wouldn’t tolerate it. That had been the cause of more visits than it should lately.
It was afternoon when he reached her house. Quaint or pretty, some might say about the area, but he couldn’t understand why Sadie would want to live with muggles. Magical non-werewolves were bad enough in his opinion, but muggles? Disgusting. He passed a muggle teenage girl whom he could vaguely recalled being told used to babysit Caroline on the way, and sent her a haughty glare as she passed him. No, he did not approve of some stupid teenager watching his daughter. Wasn’t it bad enough that Caroline was not a werewolf? That had made him madly suspicious to begin with, and although that had faded because she’d come to resemble him at least a little, it still bothered him. His mother had bit Lyconia when she was only two years old because the girl hadn’t been born a werewolf, and he should have done the same to his daughter. For some reason, though, he couldn’t bring himself to be nearby on full moon nights because he didn’t want to cause his daughter any pain.
The door was locked. That annoyed him greatly, and because he wasn’t one for rational thinking when he was annoyed, he broke the glass on the door with his fist and unlocked it from the inside. After brushing off the small amount of blood on his hand, he opened the door and stepped inside, looking around for Sadie and Caroline. He had heard Caroline scream only a moment earlier (if she’d been raised with werewolves she wouldn’t have been so easily scared, he thought grudgingly), so it didn’t take him long to make his way to where they sat by the table. His gaze drifted first to the little girl, then to Sadie. ”Don’t let me interrupt anything,” he said dryly, noting the silence that had fallen over the house. Then he looked back to Caroline. ”Didn’t mean to frighten you, pup,” he said as he took a few steps closer so that he was standing in the light. It was true that he didn’t mean to scare her. Sure, he thought she should be able to handle things like that, but intentionally frightening her wouldn’t serve any purpose. tagged. sadie/canndee dear <3 words. 719 notes. wheeee. credits. carolyn's sweet blasphemy *[/blockquote]

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sadie knew that had to be around this time he was coming. It had been several weeks since he had been here last, so she wasn't really surprised. And she knew that it had been full-moon only two days ago. She had noticed Caroline being more feisty and aggressive. The thing that annoyed her the most was the broken front door, though. He had absolutely no right to break her door. Of course it could easily being fixed with her wand, but it was hidden away in one of the cupboards. Sadie hadn't used it in a long time, so she couldn't remember what cupboard it was. Sadie still hugged Caroline tight as he started speaking. "Oh you didn't. Not at all. You just broke my frontdoor. Again." She said, rolling her eyes annoyed and placed Caroline on the chair while walking out in hall, starting to collect the pieces of the glass.
Caroline sat on the chair looking at him. "Daddy! I couldn't see you.. You were in the dark." She said and jumped down from the chair and ran over towards him and started hugging his legs, seeing that Caroline was very short compared to him. Then Caroline dried her eyes and looked up at Fenrir wanting to be lifted up. Then both Caroline and hopefully Fenrir heard a scream followed by some swear words. It was Sadie who had cut her finger on some of the glass. She hurried into the kitchen and turned on the water tap and held her finger underneath it. "Please stop breaking my door! If you want to get inside, please use the doorbell, Fenrir!" She said and was on the edge of crying. Her life was tough enough as it was. She looked at Caroline, feeling guilty that she just had heard her mother yelling at her father.
Sadie sighed silently, moved away from the tap, closing it and found a band-aid in one of the cupboards and placed it over her cut wound. Then she looked at Fenrir and sighed. It was hard being mad at him, because it was obvious that he loved Caroline very much and that was all that mattered for Sadie. "Are you hungry?" She asked Fenrir, while cutting some bread for herself. Why was she the provider? He could get food if he wanted too. He took care of himself all the time when he wasn't here.
Sadie was sure that the only thing that kept them together was Caroline. Besides they weren't even a real couple. But was Sadie too afraid to start dating other men? She still loved Fenrir though, and she probably always would. No matter how bad he treated her. Sadie looked at Caroline, who was now sitting in his arms and she placed a kiss on her right cheek, making her go all shy and trying to wipe it away. "Mommy, you should kiss Daddy, not me." Caroline said and that made Sadie look at Fenrir. Despite all his scars and wounds, he was still attractive. Sadie couldn't remember when she had last kissed Fenrir and actually felt good doing it. She just looked at him, making him decide whether he wanted to kiss her or not. Sadie noticed Caroline look first at Sadie, then back at Fenrir. It was obvious that she wanted them to kiss.

Fenrir didn’t pay much attention to Sadie’s complaints about the broken door. He had broken it several times before and it would happen again as she kept locking it, which she most likely would. Silly woman with silly ideas about locked houses being safer. He loved her, he was quite sure of that, but sometimes, lovely as she was, she could be so infuriating. Just as she was saying something about the doorbell (which he would have ignored anyway, so he couldn’t understand why she was saying it at all), Caroline ran over to him and hugged his legs. It felt… strange and unusual. That wasn’t to say it bothered him, though, because there was something endearing about her naïve affection.
He didn’t pick her up; instead, he knelt down on the floor next to her, ruffling her hair slightly. No, there could be no doubt that she was his daughter now, even though she was no werewolf. Oh, how he hated that. It would have been so much simpler if he’d just mated with another werewolf like his mother had always told both him and Lyconia to, but Sadie had made him forget that. These days, she mostly made him forget the last remnants of decency he had, and he hated himself for it. It wasn’t something he could easily change either, though, as it would mean changing his whole personality and that wasn’t something he even wanted to do.
Sadie’s scream and sudden outburst caused him to look up in surprise, but that expression soon changed into an angrier one. ”Why do you lock it? Afraid I’ll drop by at a bad time?” he asked as he got back on his feet. There could be no mistaking the veiled threat in his voice – no time ought to be too bad for him to drop by at, because no matter what she might make herself believe, she was his. The mother of his daughter, even. He forced himself to remain relatively calm for the sake of Caroline, but he was not going to be happy with Sadie once the little girl was sound asleep.
He simply glared at her once she asked if he was hungry. For goodness’ sake, he wasn’t here to be patronized like that! Those words very nearly came out of his mouth as Sadie kissed Caroline, but once again, the little girl effectively distracted him. Damn it, why was she so good at that? He agreed, though, and he was definitely longing to kiss Sadie. It had been a long time now, after all. With a crooked smile in Caroline’s direction, he walked over to Sadie, wrapped his arm around her waist and kissed her more quickly than he really wanted to. tagged. sadie/canndee dear <3 words. 450 notes. this post is so bad. credits. carolyn's sweet blasphemy *[/blockquote]

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - No matter how bad he treated her and no matter how much Sadie tried, she couldn't hate Fenrir. They had been a couple for the most of almost ten years, so it wasn't easy to just break it of with him. Besides, she wasn't sure how it would turn out to be. Sure, he was the father of her daughter and he had proven to be a good father at times, but most of the time he was absent and away and Sadie had no idea what he was up to and it scared her a bit. He had never said it to her directly, but she was sure that she wasn't allowed to find another boyfriend. And maybe she didn't wanted to? Sadie was happy as long as she had Caroline around her, but she lived with a constant fear that Fenrir would kidnap her. Wasn't that every mother's worst nightmare? Normally it wouldn't be, but Fenrir was the type of man you never knew where you had.
Caroline smiled up at him while he ruffled her hair. She was about to ask him how he had been, but that was right until she heard her mother scream. She then heard her father speak to her mother again and she felt the angry voice he had. Caroline wasn't old, but she knew that this wasn't any good so she decided to step back a little and sit in the corner. "I lock it because I want to protect my daughter. And next time.. She said, looking him straight in the eyes with tears in her own, unable to finish the sentence. She was afraid, because she had heard the threat in his voice. Then she walked in to Caroline and smiled at her. "Hey darling. Should I tuck you to bed now? You have a long day tomorrow, don't you?" Sadie asked, kissing her daughter's forehead. Caroline looked down at the chair, just playing with some loose threads from her shirt, nodding slightly. "Don't be sad, baby girl. You know that it doesn't mean anything. Go on and say goodnight to your daddy now. I'll be there in a minute." Sadie said, helping her daughter down from the chair.
Caroline then ran over towards Fenrir and dried her eyes and smiled a bit. "I hope to see you soon again, Daddy." Caroline said and right after that Fenrir kissed Sadie. It wasn't a particular good kiss. It seemed rushed, and Sadie was convinced that it was only to make Caroline happy. Caroline smiled and then ran inside her room and started taking on her night gown on. After a few minutes, Sadie walked in to her and tucked her in. "I'll see you in the morning, alright sweetie?" Sadie asked and kissed each of her cheeks, before turning of the light. "Try and see if you can sleep right away. It's been a long day after all. I'll probably talk a bit more with Daddy before he leaves. Sleep well, princess." Sadie said, kissing her forehead again, before heading out of her room, carefully closing the door behind her.
Then Sadie took a deep breath and walked out in the kitchen again. There she found a bottle of red wine and opened it. Normally, Sadie wasn't the wine type. But some nights (like tonight) just screamed for a glass of wine. She looked after Fenrir and she wanted to ask him if he wanted to have a glass, but she then remembered what effect alcohol had on him and decided not to bother asking him. Then she walked inside the living room with her glass of wine and decided to ask Fenrir on the way if he wanted to join her. And now Sadie sat in the couch just taking a sip of her red wine every once in a while waiting for Fenrir to say something. She knew that something had to come. Something about the locked door or maybe if she was being completely faithfully to him. Sadie knew that he had some trust-issues. And Sadie kind of understood why. His childhood hadn't been the best. At least not compared to hers. With her overly protective father, but Sadie was perfectly happy with her life and the fact that her parents came around every once in a while to see how Caroline was. It wasn't much she heard from her siblings though, they were still at Hogwarts, so Sadie couldn't blame them.
Sadie looked at Fenrir and wanted to ask him how he had been. But she already knew the answer to that and many time Sadie wanted to ask him if he couldn't skip the whole death eater idea and come and live with them, trying to live a normal life. It was hard when you were a werewolf, but at least try and give it a shot. Sadie moved a bit closer to him. "Caroline misses you.. I miss you, Fenrir. Come home to us. For good." She whispered in his ear, then resting her cheek on his shoulder. It was true and Sadie was convinced that if he came home and lived here on a regular basis, he wouldn't be so intimidating every time he came around and he wouldn't scare his own daughter. Sadie then took another sip of her wine and then she kissed his cheek. Sadie wasn't sure where they were now - sure she was still in love with him. But she felt a distance to him too. Sadie sighed as she placed her wine glass on the table, starting to rub his shoulders.

Fenrir didn’t react at all to the tears in Sadie’s eyes. He should, of course, but he didn’t, because tears were nothing but a sign of weakness to him. A sign of helplessness. Sadie was weak, he knew that – she was only human, after all, and a muggleborn as well. He didn’t even know what it was that attracted him to her. Still, he always came back, whether it was because he loved her or needed her or just needed to see Caroline. No, it wasn’t the latter. That was what made it so strange to him. It would have made so much more sense, had he fallen for a fellow werewolf he could actually respect, not to mention trust. He could never entirely trust Sadie because, despite all they’d gone through, she’d never fully understand.
He just watched as Caroline ran off to her bedroom, soon followed by Sadie. He contemplated following them and actually took a few steps after them, but stopped and turned around. Putting the little girl to bed was something best done by the mother, he decided. Still, it was almost alien to him to see how much Sadie seemed to care about Caroline and how openly she showed it. His own mother had been anything but affectionate, leaving them as soon as she thought they’d survive on their own. Like a wolf would. Not coddling the children made sense to him, and although he loved Caroline dearly, he would never be as obvious about it as her mother. Honestly, he didn’t even know how.
He stood leaning against a counter as Sadie returned, his eyebrows arching slightly. Most likely, this meant Caroline was now asleep. Good. He simply watched Sadie as she poured herself a glass of wine, the fact that she wasn’t offering him any not bothering him at all. Sharing, like displaying affection, was not something he did a lot of the time. It was important to take care of family, of course, but he wasn’t stupid – he could tell Sadie saw him as little more than an intruder. That bothered him to no end. Would she rather he was someone else? His muscles tensed as he once again wondered if she was seeing someone else, and he silently swore he’d murder whoever that man might be. Yes, he did occasionally sleep with other women, but sex was sex. Sadie was still his.
He didn’t act on the annoyance because she asked him to join him, and as he sat down beside her, he wanted her more than he wanted to reprimand her. Then she spoke, his head resting on his shoulder, and he looked strangely at her. ”You know I can’t,” he replied, a bit more harshly than he had needed to. ”I’m not going to play nice with a bunch of muggles.” He didn’t consider that she was a muggleborn when he said that – he never did, simply because he didn’t like to think about the fact that his girlfriend was a mudblood. She felt her hands on his shoulder and turned towards her again, meeting her gaze for a moment before placing his hand on her face and kissing her. tagged. sadie/canndee dear <3 words. 531 notes. <3 credits. carolyn's sweet blasphemy *[/blockquote]

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Despite everything - scars and lack of emotions she still loved him. How could she not? And no matter what other people said (her father in particular) Fenrir could be a good person. Often he wasn't though, but when they sat in her couch and just talked he could be quite pleasant. What he said the next sounded a bit harsh and she wasn't surprised. Fenrir wasn't the nicest person, but there was no reason to sound that harsh. "You can't seriously mean that.. Whats-his-name is controlling your every move.. So whenever you are here, with me and Caroline he knows what you are doing? That is so wrong, Fenrir." She said and removed her hands from his shoulders, but then he kissed her and Sadie was taken aback. Sadie was surprised when she kissed him back. Because of what he just had said, she was sure that if he kissed her she would push him away, but strangely enough she didn't.
After a minute or so kissing him she pulled away. Sadie then looked at him. Sipping on her wine she thought. "Hey.. Why don't you stay here tonight? Stay and sleep. I'm sure Caroline would love to wake up to see you." Sadie said with a small smile, moving close to him again. Sure Sadie could be fine without him, but the truth was that she felt a lot more safer when he around then when he wasn't. One thing she knew for sure was that she felt scared whenever he wasn't around because then he could come unannounced and maybe kidnap Caroline and that was her worst nightmare. Therefore she would prefer that he slept here tonight.
"It would be nice falling asleep when you were next to me.." She said and kissed his cheek again and giggled. After kissing his cheek she continued kissing him all the way down to his mouth. And while kissing his mouth she took his hand and intertwined their fingers. "You know that I love you, Fenrir." She said under her breath and made sure to make it very clear for him. Sadie wasn't tired anymore and she was sure that Caroline was asleep now.
Sadie hated being called a muggle. She knew that she was one, and the fact that she rarely used her magic powers was not really helping but it still hurt her feelings when it came from him. "You wouldn't do it because of Caroline?" She asked and looked at him with intense eyes.
