Things were never this busy around the Burrow. Molly was bouncing around the house more than her usual manner the whole day, hair up in a messy bun, tidying up and finding something to do. After enchanting the wash basin and sponge to finish the dishes for her, she let out a long, drawn-out sigh and took a good look around. Laundry, check. Dusting, check. Dishes, check. Yard, check. It was already about six o'clock, so she figured it was about time to start cooking. Arthur would probably be home soon.
Molly made her way to the kitchen, got out some old pots and pans, rinsed them off, and set them on the counter. Now now, what to cook? She pondered for a moment, making her way to the refrigerator and peering in. Nothing jumped out at her. She then opened the pantry. The two things she noticed were a jar of wild rice and some fresh spring onions. She wasn't sure what she would do with that, but she got it all out and set it on the counter nonetheless. She then made her way to the large freezer. Ah, some fresh cod. She took the cod to the kitchen and let them thaw naturally for a moment while she started the rice cooker. She figured she was steam it and add some sort of home made sauce. She was good at that sort of thing.
After filling the rice cooker, she pulled out her wand and thawed the cod the rest of the way, then tossing them into a pan on the with some olive oil and some various seasoning. She then chopped up two of the spring onions and added them in with the fish. While everything was cooking, she lifted her head and placed her hands on her hips in triumph. She could make anything taste gourmet. She took a moment to walk away from the cooking to check on the dishes. They were done, so she used some magic to drain the water in the wash basin and then began to dry the dishes on her apron. She glanced over at the bare wall where the clock was, frowning a bit. She had tried to break the habit of worrying constantly, but it was difficult.
Taking the dried dishes, Molly made her way to the dinner table and set it carefully. The entire house began to smell like cod, and she breathed it in deeply. Even if Lord Voldemort could kill her and her husband any minute, that smell was enough to keep her happy. She had taught herself to enjoy the little things. Dinner time was always very important to Molly. It gave her a sense of clarity. With all the chaos in the wizarding world, she had to stay positive. The worst thing she could do right now was worry.
She considered getting out a bottle of wine to enjoy, but then she remembered what the muggle doctor had said the day before. She need'nt be drinking any alcohol. Not with the news she was going to deliver to Arthur tonight. Instead, she got out her old kettle and began brewing some tea. Much better idea. She checked on the dinner to make sure everything was cooking fine, adding a few more spices and whatnot in with the fish. After a few minutes, she brought a platter for the fish over to the table, as well as a large bowl of rice. She smirked, congratulating herself, when she noticed she had forgotten some sort of bread. She usually disliked using magic to solve problems, but she figured magic bread would be better than none, so she waved her wand and there appeared a plate with a few rolls on the table. She let the food cool and went to her bedroom.
Taking a glance in the mirror, Molly noticed she was a bit... untidy. Already in the nesting stage, she thought to herself. She untied her apron and hung it on the bed post, then taking her hair out of the bun and letting it fall naturally curly to her shoulders. She then decided to do a sort of half-up look, pushing a little floral comb-like hairpiece in to hold it in place. She reapplied her smeared makeup, washed her hands, and threw on a light pink sweater she had knitted the day before. She then herd a faint pop at the front door and skipped to greet her husband from his long day at work.

+ + + + + + + baby, s a v e me! + + + + + + + Work was busy as usual in the ministry. Arthur looked at his watch and bit his lip slightly. It was almost six o'clock. He should've been on his way home, already. He'd much rather be there than here, no matter how much muggle artifacts did happen to interest him. Molly interested him more. Oh, corny days, how you never left this man alone. As he continued to answer phones and questions, and talk to the crankiest witches and wizards of the world (or so it seemed), Arthur was finally given the okay to head home. Boy, was that sweet to hear.
Hopping out of his chair and putting his wand back behind his ear, Arthur adjusted his beanie accordingly and loosened his tie. He pushed his chair into the proper place and threw his jacket over his shoulder. It wasn't too horribly cold outside, and he wanted to take a walk. The walk wouldn't last long, maybe a block or so, then he'd apparate when no one was looking or something like that. Arthur liked to pretend to be discreet. It made him feel like a big, bad ministry worker.
Muggles, muggles everywhere. It didn’t flatter many other magical folks to be surrounded by the lot of them for even a portion of their lives. To Arthur, it was a privilege. The way they thought, worked, and got around was borderline magnificent to him. It struck him as boring or mental in some people’s eyes, annoying in other’s, but in the ones that understood he was another curious boy in a big world full of things to wonder about. He was just fine with all of the above. Though, he knew his life would’ve been a tad easier had he not been so keen to them. He would have a boring yet less strenuous job, and probably less of an understanding of the world, but he would be ignorantly blissful all the same.
He continued down the block, his ginger hair kept from scattering everywhere in the cold wind inside a beanie, which he had to admit he enjoyed. After a while, he grew tired of walking. Therefore, Arthur escaped behind the wall and apparated away to his home. It was nice while it lasted, but he was ready to sit down and relax with his wife. Plus, there was probably dinner already on the table that he was excited for. He loved how Molly was one to cook. It made his days even more extravagant, at least, to him.
Arthur popped up at the first step of the porch to his faithful door, that lead inside. His house was so warming. It wasn't much, but it really felt like home. He skipped up the steps and turned the knob to be greeted by the scent of freshly cooked food. Oh, wasn't his life just the greatest! At the smell, his stomach started to rumble a tad more than it already was. To be greeted with the aroma of cod fish was probably the second greatest moment in this wizard's life.

Molly wrapped her arms around her adoring husband, giving him a right big kiss on either cheek. She backed away from him, holding his face in her hands. She smiled warmly at him, "How was work, dear?" She took his jacket from over his shoulder, hanging it on the lopsided coat hanger in the corner. She turned to him again, nodding towards the dinner table, "I sort of threw something together. I hope you don't mind. Does it smell alright?" The two of them made their way to the table taking a seat on either side. She took a look around the table, letting out a sigh. She really hoped this was as good as it smelled. "Well, dig in then," she said.
The tea kettle began whistling, and her head popped up. She bustled over to the stove, taking the pot off and setting it on the counter. She reached up to the highest cabinet (quite a stretch for her short stature) and stood on her toes to get a couple of tea cups. She gave up, whipping out her wand, doing the infamous swish and flick, and she slowly hovered them down to the counter. She closed the cabinet and began pouring the tea. She glanced over at Arthur as she got out the sugar, "Two sugars, dear?" Of course, Arthur always had two sugars in his tea, but she always asked. It was part of her ritual. Molly was a very routine person.
Bringing the two cups of tea over to the table, she asked Molly as she set Arthur's cup before him, "How was work, darling?" She finally took a seat and began eating, listening and nodding as Arthur spoke. The fish was pretty good, she had to admit, especially for having been experimental. She smiled to herself, rather proud of her cooking skills, gaze shifting to Artie as she ate. She could hear him speaking, but she couldn't help but admire him. His big, green eyes glistening, handsomely hollow cheeks, and a very defined jaw bone. She hoped their children looked like him. Oh, that reminded her. The news. Her heart sped up, and she ate to disguise her sudden nervous expression.
"How's dinner? Did I do a good job? I was sort of worried about it while I was cooking it, afraid it wouldn't turn out to your liking," she chattered nervously. So much for disguising that, Molly thought to herself. She took a sip of her tea and took a deep breath, noticing that she was now trembling lightly. Even better, maybe I should just get a howler to exclaim it. Maybe write about it in the Daily Prophet.

+ + + + + + + baby, s a v e me! + + + + + + + Arthur scrunched his face playfully as she kissed his cheeks and smiled back at her, "Nothing out of the ordinary, I'm afraid." Her touch on his cheeks felt pretty good, he had to say. It was cold outside, and she was always warm. Or, at least, she seemed to be. He liked that about her. The small things, as she commonly said, were to be enjoyed. He chuckled lightly, "It actually smells very delightful." He walked towards the dinner table, pulled her chair out (a routine thing, also to flatter) for her to sit down, and then went around to his side and sat.
Serving himself some food on his plate, with a big smile on his face that was mostly fuelled by his tummy rumbles, Artie took a bit of each thing. They were all perfect. How did he get so lucky? The tea kettle whistling made him jump a bit, just because he hadn't seen it coming, and he looked up as he grinned at the same simple question Molly asked each time they had tea. It was cute how it was routine for her to ask him something like that. "Yes, please." His tone was always polite and calm. Raising his voice wasn't something he ever really did.
"Thank you, doll." It was a habit of his to say doll, but only around her. It was one of his many pet names for her. He took a sip of his tea and shrugged as he sat it back down, "Busy. People were bustling in and out of there, all of them in a hurry for some deranged reason. How many muggle artifacts can one misuse?" He smirked lightly up at Molly and then went back to eating. He'd met her gaze, which he liked to do. Her eyes were always very welcoming. Ah, there he went again, sapping about.
As he ate the delicious meal she'd thrown together, Arthur's stomach was dancing. It really was delectable, which is why it didn't take a second to think of how to answer her question. Though, it did seem a bit off-track. Her tone of voice and rambling, that is. It wasn't like her, but Artie would admit that his wife could be unpredictable. "I love it, really. It's delicious." He smiled brightly at her, full of truth, as he sat his fork down to take another content sip of his tea. In his world full of calm, he could basically hear her trembling. Furrowing his eyebrows slightly and peaking over his cup, Arthur tilted his head, "Something the matter, darling?" He didn't like it when she was upset. Trembling brought that impression and assumption to him.

Molly's head snapped up when Arthur asked her if something was wrong. Yes, there went her cover. She took another gulp sip of her tea and set it back down, shaking her head. "I don't know what you're talking about..." Very convicing, Molly. She flared her nostrils. She really could not keep a secret. She did need to tell him, though. She let out a sigh and gazed intently at her husband, "Arthur, there's something very serious I need to tell you about." She bit her lip, glancing away. She then stood and bolted to the bedroom.
Standing in the doorway for a moment, Molly realized she couldn't remember where she had hidden the pictures. She got her wand out, muttering, "Accio muggle ultrasound photos." And they flew into her hand. She took a deep breath, putting her wand back in her pocket, and walked back to the dinner table. She stood before Arthur with the pictures behind her back. She stared at Arthur for a moment. "Now, Arthur, I implore you to stay calm," she started, pausing and watching him closely. "Do you remember yesterday, when you got home and the bed wasn't made? Well, that's because I wasn't home most of the day. Something... happened, or rather, didn't happen and was supposed to happen. So I went to a muggle doctor to see if it was what I suspected..."
Molly pulled the pictures from behind her back, handing them to Arthur. She took a deep breath, watching him closely as he looked at him. She could tell he didn't know what they were. She couldn't blame him, she didn't either until the muggle doctor told her. She cleared her throat, "Arthur, those are photographs taken of my stomach with some sort of muggle device... Basically, what I'm trying to say is... I'm... pregnant." She let out a sigh of relief, and then, watching Artie's facial expression, she couldn't help but grin.

+ + + + + + + baby, s a v e me! + + + + + + + Holding back a grin at the denial of what's wrong, Arthur sipped his tea once again, keeping his eyes on her. He knew something was wrong, and he wasn't going to stop staring until he knew the entire story. Something... serious she needed to talk about. Blinking almost absentmindedly, Artie sat his tea cup down softly and looked at her as she bolted to the bedroom.
What could this mean? There were a few options. One, she was hiding an orphan up there and wanted to keep it instead of turning it in. Ha, nah. Two, she had found a stray kitten and wanted to keep it. Perhaps. Three, there was actually something serious that she wanted to discuss with him. At this point, he was praying to Merlin for the stray cat. He could handle a cat. After all, they're only satanic three-fourths of the time, right?
Arthur watched her as she came back down and then leaned back against the actual back of the chair. It hurt his weird posture to sit up straight, but he did it at work, and he could do it here too. After all, Molly seemed to be bothered by all of this. He might as well show her a lick of respect by sitting up straight. What was that behind her back? Artie almost wanted to evade his position and peak at whatever was behind there, but he controlled himself.
Though, Mr. Weasley was a very, very curious man.
He nodded slowly at the tough task of being calm through this, sarcasm intended, and listened to her. Arthur did notice that the bed hadn't been made, but it didn't bother him a bit. It was simply strange. Molly usually kept the entirety of the house organized and tidy. Muggle doctor, she says. Well, this couldn't have been good if she didn't even go to a mediwitch.
Reaching out and calmly taking the ultrasound photos, Arthur flipped through them. His stomach was turning at what he was seeing. Calm, calm... What was he even looking at, though? He looked up again at Molly as she spoke. His eyes grew wide for a few seconds, but he took a big breath and let a bright smile show. "Pregnant, huh? That's been what's bothering you?" Arthur looked back down at the ultrasounds and grinned proudly, "Personally, I think it's an amazing thing. Though, if it's bad to you," he looked back up at her and saw the grin, "Oh, well nevermind!" He sat the ultrasounds down on a clear part of the table and went to Molly, hugging her close and smiling, still.
"I've always wanted a family." Arthur stated as he held his beautiful wife close, "I'm just glad that I had the opportunity of sharing it with you." He pulled back slightly and gave her a light kiss on the lips. Arthur was splendidly happy with this. Whether Molly genuinely was or not, he didn't know. After all, pregnancy was not a walk in the park, and neither was a child, but this was Molly. They didn't differ that much in the family-wanting category.
