The blonde ran up the stairs from the fifth floor all the way up to the Gryffindor tower. Perhaps she needed to take a dive from the tower down to the ground. Perhaps then she wouldn’t be approaching people she knew weren’t good for her. Perhaps she could just not be in relationships with Slytherins. A good looking face, some charm and she was hooked. Always the bad boys that got her attention. Couldn’t she just find a nice, lovely, good boy and marry him? Maybe she should just ask her father to betroth her to someone. Of course, it would be over her dead body because she wasn’t going to get forced into a marriage.
Why was she such a glutton for punishment? Obviously he wasn’t very interested in her anymore. Why was she still holding onto whatever they had? Or maybe what they had was just an illusion that shattered when reality kicked in. “Harsh reality.” The blonde muttered, passing by a group of first years leaving the common room. She stood outside the closing portrait, trying to remember the password. What was the password? “Godric.” She said, looking desolately at the portrait. When the figure gave nothing but a smile back, Alice Logan groaned. “Butterbeer. Dumbledore. Quidditch. James freaking Potter!” She almost yelled at the portrait. She highly doubted James Potter was the password but who knew? Maybe Heads had the permission to change the password. James Potter would be rather easy to remember.
Alice liked James, primarily for the reason that he pissed Lily off. Of course, they were going to end up together and have lovely babies together. Wasn’t that how the stories always ended? Couple hated each other guts when they first met. Over the years, they fought, argued and then discovered they couldn’t live without one another. Or maybe that was how Alice pictured it. She sighed loudly. The password was hiding from her. All she wanted was to go into the common room and stare into the fireplace and hope no one disturbed her. As if that was going to happen in the Gryffindor’s common room.

Emmeline was walking up the stairs from the library towards the Gryffindoor tower. She had finally finished up a long and painful Potions essay on Mandrake roots that she had just got today, but she hadn't wanted to put it off until the last minute like she usually did. That would have interfered with her Quidditch, D.A.D.A and friend time, none of which she wanted to cut into. It had been a hard essay, but some books in the library had helped, it almost made Emmeline consider doing her homework right away all the time and not procrastinate anymore, almost but not quite.
As she walked up the stairs the brown haired teen heard someone almost yell "James freaking Potter!" The stone walls bounced loud noises around the castle, so the yell sounded louder than it really was. Emmeline laughed, because she recognized that voice, it was Alice. Emmeline hurried up the last few of the stairs to where the portrait was, and laughed. Alice was standing outside the portrait, obviously having forgotten the password.
"James freaking Potter... I like it, we should suggest that for the next password." Emmeline joked, coming up behind her friend, a grin on her face. "Bezoar." She said to the portrait, the fat lady just smiled and nodded before it swung open to reveal the common room. She smiled and put her arm around Alice's shoulder, "What would you do without me?" She teased as the two walked through into the common room.
Once in the common room she shooed a first year out of her favourite chair and plopped down in it. The seventh year dropped her bag on the floor next to her and looked up at Alice. "So what's up with you?" She asked, realizing that Alice looked a little upset. "What happened?" She asked, suddenly the extremely concerned best friend, all joking gone, her dark eyes searching Alice's face, trying to read it.

Natalie had been studying in the library. It was her base of operations the day the school got rid of the library was the day she died. The library was a lovely place for her to calm herself down and get her hyper activity settled. It was also neat and organized which she liked very much. It was around three o'clock and Natalie was near burned out. She was a morning bird and by the time dinner rolled around she was half asleep. She usually was in bed by eight or nine her fellow classmates found this insane. Her library time today had been very effective. She got a good chunk of her homework done and even got reports that were due in weeks.
She was walking up the steps to the common room. She was ready to collapse and possibly fall asleep until someone decided to wake her up. Her thoughts were interrupted as she neared her beloved common room. She narrowed her brows and moved faster. She recognized the voice. No, she more than recognized it she KNEW that voice. It was Alice Logan her dear friend. She raised her brow and practically sprinted the rest of the way getting there in time to hear her mutter 'James freaking Potter.' Natalie snorted, nearly dropping her books. "Oh barf, the day I accept James Potter as out password is the day I gouge my eye out with my wand." She said with sincerity. She entered the common room with her two best friends, crossing her arms.
"Golly what's wrong Alice you look like a lunatic." She laughed a bit. "Actually you are starting to look more and more like me everyday." Natalie was the school's psychopath. She was insane literally. Her closest friends even considered her absolutely bonkers. Natalie wasn't as serious as Emmeline was, but then again that wasn't saying much Natalie was never really serious. Her sarcastic tone of voice and her joking disposition were merely indicators that she was truly worried about her close friend. "OK I guess I'll play serious with Em, what's wrong honey buns?" She asked as seriously as Natalie could.

Alice didn’t know why she couldn’t remember the passwords. It was just an inability she had. She would write the passwords down and repeat them over and over again if it worked. It didn’t. She tried. It should be easy to remember passwords. She could recall what she had for breakfast in the morning, why couldn’t she remember the word she said a dozen times per day? Maybe she had something missing in her mind… “Oh!” Alice jumped a little, hearing Emmeline’s familiar voice. “We could, except we might have to say the password for Lily if she’s in a huff because of him.” Alice said. “And for Natalie. Though I think she would be in the Hospital Wing if she proceeds with her plan.” The blonde commented, hearing the other Gryffindor’s voice. “Ah, Bezoar. Of course. How could I have forgotten that?” Alice asked herself, stepping into the common room. “Die an extremely miserable death.” She replied automatically, as was her reply every time Em asked her that. Alice was an only child and Emmeline was the closest thing to a sister she ever had. Merlin bless the day they met on The Hogwarts Express.
The blonde stuck her tongue out at Natalie when she was told she looked like a lunatic. “I don’t want to be like you.” Settling into the nearest empty chair, Alice sighed, wringing her hands. She was much more comfortable telling this to Emmeline alone, since she knew all the facts. What Natalie and the rest of the world knew was that she and her latest boyfriend broke it off over the summer. The story was that he had enough of her. Truth was? She got pregnant, he didn’t want anything to do with it and she was still stupid enough to go look for him after she decided not to keep the baby. Idiot. “Nothing, I guess. Just me, being silly enough to approach someone who shot me down. Nothing out of the ordinary.” She ventured a smile to Natalie and then to Emmeline, who should be quite ready to chew off Alice’s head for doing something that stupid. Or not. The blonde tried to sink lower into her seat, pouting a little.

imma get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans Lily's head was pounding. Oh my God, oh my God... were her thoughts ever since what happened the night before with James and Lily in the Head Tower. She needed to tell her posse. It was inevitable - they were going to find out at some point, so why not now? She woke up the morning after and was confused whether or not the night before had actually happened. She got out of her bed and showering, she changed. She put on a simple black dress and slipped some gold flats with gold stripes. Wait, she stopped, Way too much random gold, she realized. She quietly went to her jewelry box - not wanting to wake up James - and picked out some gold studs. She put them in her ear lobes, grabbed her bag and went off to the Gryffindor dorms.
Her hair was still a bit damp, a fact she realized on her way to the dorms. She stopped in the nearest girls' lavatory to try and fix it. She had charmed it to dry and stuck it in a certain position. It was parted down the middle, and she had some of her hair on her side pinned to the back of her hair. She thought it looked decent for the moment. All she needed was to get to the dormitory at the moment. She didn't really care for much else.
She was walking to the Gryffindor tower from the third floor. It was a long walk, but this talk had better been worth it. Even though it felt like several hundred years for her to reach the tower, she finally did. "Bezoar," she said hurriedly to the Fat Lady. "Ms. Evans, are you in a hurry?" she asked in return, "Yes, yes! I am!" she didn't want to be rude, but it slipped out: "Open the door!" she called strained at the door. "Fine, fine. Go on in," The portrait swung open, Lily rushed in her face a bit flushed.
Lily saw the people she was looking for when she walked in. Natalie, Emmeline, and Alice were all in crowded around Em who was lounging in her favorite chair. She missed being with her friends, the conversations in the dormitories in the middle of the night always made her laugh so hard. Their own personalities clashing with each other made everything fun. When Lily entered the conversation, it seemed as Alice had just tried to end one, but she couldn't be positive. "Guys, guys!" Lily exclaimed in a rush, although her tone was a bit lower than usual. This was not everybody else's business. "Guess what?" Her face was flustered a bit as well. be your teenage dream ( T O N I G H T ) words;; 448 outfit;; click tagged;; emmeline, natalie, alice, lily? music;; teenage dream - katy perry notes;; low muse makes for an attempt? credit;; marmarizzle on CAUTION 2.0

When Natalie came up and scoffed at the idea of James Potter as a password Emmeline laughed. ”You forgot the freaking part Nat.” She reminded her friend, ”Maybe we should just make it, Freaking Boys and leave it at that.” Emmeline grinned when Alice said she would die a miserable death, ”Nah, you’d just be stuck in the hallway forever.” In the common room she sat down and when Natalie commented on Alice looking like a lunatic she didn’t know whether to smile, laugh, or give Natalie a look that told her to be serious. She loved Natalie dearly, they were best friends after all, but the other girl just couldn’t be serious, or at least, not as serious as Emmeline could. But Natalie did seem to get the message without Em giving her a look and she asked Alice what was wrong in a non-joking way, something that was very unusual for Natalie.
And of course Alice had gone to some Slytherin boys. Possibly even him, the boy who had gotten her pregnant and Emmeline would have gladly cursed, and she had been shot down. Well that was a bit of good news, even though it hurt Alice (something Em wasn’t very happy about) maybe it would get the message across that she should stay away from Slytherin boys. ”Alice,” Emmeline said, looking up at her friend, her brown eyes somewhere in between mad and sympathetic. She had told her friend time and time again to stay away from those boys or she would get hurt, and Alice didn’t listen to her, and yet when she did get hurt Emmeline could never bring herself to say “I told you so.” She hated seeing Alice upset way too much. ”Why do you do that to yourself? Those boys are trouble and we all know it.” She just wanted her friend to find a nice boy, in any house but Slytherin. One that really cared for her, like Frank. Emmeline got to her feet and gave Alice a quick hug before sitting back down, watching the blond carefully, her eyes conveying that they could talk in private later.
Only a few moments later Lily came running up to them, looking like she was about to burst from excitement. ”What?” Emmeline asked, her friend’s tone piquing her curiosity. Em could only imagine that whatever had made Lily so excited it probably had something to do with James. Much of what happened to her friends, good or bad, had something to do with boys. From watching the drama that went on with both Alice and Lily and the boys in their life made Emmeline quite glad that she wasn’t into guys, they just caused trouble.

Natalie pouted when Alice said she didn't want to be like her. She smiled brightly and nudged her good friend. "At least I'm talented." She said with a wink. She turned on her serious face and listened to Alice. Nat shook her head and frowned. "Oh dear lord we have trouble in River City! Trouble with a capital T." She knew no one would get her Music Man reference but it was too good to pass up. "Alice sweetie am I gonna have to personally curse every single Slytherin boy into oblivion to keep you away from them?" She asked with a raised brow. She would more than gladly do it. She would ecstatically do it. She would do it with glee.
Slytherins and Natalie didn't exactly get along well. She didn't like Slytherins everyone knew that. She was perhaps the most Slytherin hating person attending Hogwarts. It wasn't for certain but she was definitely up in the top five. Slytherin boys and her got along even worse because of Alice and her history. She didn't like boys who hurt her friends and that's what most of the Slytherin boys did. She was also pushing the Alice and Frank relationship. Frank was her best guyfriend and Alice was one of her best girlfriends. Nat would die from the irony if they actually got together like she dreamed.
Natalie turned when she heard someone else rush into the room. Her face was bright when her soul sister entered. Her and Lily were the best of friends, she could easily say Lily was her longest and dearest out of the three. "What?" She asked eagerly. "Did you finally curse James or did you curse the whole Mauarder troupe?" She asked curiously. She would be happy and sad at the same time. She would be happy because they would be cursed but sad because she wouldn't have been the one to curse them.

And there it was. Her name, said by Emmeline. Really, the only other person she would not retort back when her name was said that way was her father. “Yes?” She asked meekly. “Obviously because I need to hurt myself.” Alice muttered. She often wondered why she went for the bad boys. It wasn’t like she had a lack of love growing up. Sure, her mother wasn’t all that good but she wasn’t abusive or anything like that. Her father most certainly wasn’t like the boys she dated in the past. The only reason she could think of was because she didn’t think she was worth any one else’s time. And that she liked to torture herself emotionally.
Em came over, with a hug and Alice returned it gladly. Hugs were always comforting. How many times had her best friend hugged her while she had a broken heart? Too many. Plus, she was warm and cuddly. “I have a feeling you’d do that, even if I said no. You just want an excuse, Miss Giles.” Alice said, sticking her tongue out at Natalie. Of course, she had mentioned some reference to a musical or something that Alice had no clue about.
When Lily entered, with her excitable voice and face, Alice just stared. She really didn’t want to know what made Lily so happy. It wasn’t going to be something good really. “Oh, wait, let me guess. Something to do with James freaking Potter?” The blonde said. She sounded annoyed. She didn’t mean to sound annoyed. Somehow that just always happened when Lily was around. The redhead should be used to it by now.

imma get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans The excitement Lily had just had faded very quickly when she realized who she was talking to. She was talking to her best friends, Emmeline and Natalie, and another "friend", Alice. Emmeline, Natalie and Alice had all heard of her fuming rants about one James Potter. The rants included how much she hated him and his Marauders. They were the most annoying things ever. Their reactions were hard to anticipate when she and Remus had become friends - although Remus was the Marauder who was not as much trouble as the other three.
The entire school knew that Lily Evans hated James Potter with every fiber of her being. Her face turned a deep red flush when Natalie mentioned hexing James and the Marauders. "N-not exactly..." she stuttered. She had always stuttered when she lied or was nervous. It wasn't that Natalie had asked her that; it was that Lily could tell her best friend was hoping for a 'yes'. Emmeline's innocent "What?" was a lot more comforting. Rolling her eyes at Alice, Lily was not at all fazed by Alice's snark comment. She had grown used to it.
She did not know how to put it. How do you tell your best friends that you were now in love with the guy you have hated since you were eleven? "I-it does deal with James," she admitted, looking down at her hands awkwardly. She didn't know how to put it, she sat on the arm of a nearby couch. "I kind of slept with him..." There. That wasn't too hard, was it? Realizing what exactly she had said, she stood up and shook her head repeatedly, "W-W-W-W-Wait! Not like that!" she gained control of her voice and clarified, "He was asleep with his arm around me, and I was right next to him." Well actually, she was practically on top of him, but that would not help her case that much, would it? Emmeline hated that Alice tortured herself. She hated that her best friend in the world, the closest thing she had to a sister, fell for the wrong guys over and over again, and she was constantly having her heart broken by them. Em would have happily joined Natalie in cursing every single Slytherin boy to keep them away from Alice, she was sick of watching her friend on this never ending cycle of heartbreak. "Sweetheart," Em just shook her head, her brown curls falling in her face, she pushed them back and looked into her friend's blue eyes, knowing that Alice understood how concerned Em got for her. Emmeline was like the mother of her group, she protected her friends, and everyone at Hogwarts knew that if they messed with Alice or Natalie or Lily, Emmeline would be coming after them. Unfortunately Slytherins were too stupid to comprehend the dangers of messing with Alice, and did so anyone.
And of course Alice sounded annoyed with Lily, Em sighed. She loved all three of her friend dearly, but Alice and Lily had their problems. While Natalie and she were best friends with both girls, Alice and Lily were just friends, friends with a strained relationship sometimes. It upset Alice to see two of her best friends argue with one another, but there wasn't anything she could do about it except act with Nat as a sort of referee. Nat wondered if she had to go hex James and his Marauders and Em couldn't help but agree to that, those boys were nothing but trouble, then again were she and her friends any better? One might say they were just as bad as the boys, if not worse at times. Em did her best to ignore Lily's eye roll towards Alice and payed solely on what Lily was saying. It was about James, Emmeline wondered how fast she could get to James and curse him, probably faster than Lily could catch her.
If James had so much as put a hand on Lily, if he had so much as looked at her wrong Emmeline would make sure he wished he was never born. "I kind of slept with him..." The brunette froze and her eyes widened, that was not at all what she had expected. She looked at Lily, looking for some sign that her friend was joking, she prayed and hoped she was joking. Forget James wishing he was never born, Em was going to MURDER him. "What the," She began, but Lily cut her off. "W-W-W-W-Wait! Not like that!"
Emmeline was about to ask how else Lily meant when her friend proceeded to explain. Not that the actual explanation was much better. "Okay that's it, I'm going to kill him, coming Nat?" She said, turning to stalk out of the Gryffdinor tower, planning to find James and giving him a piece of her mind, and possible a good hex too.

Natalie smiled brightly at Alice's comment. "You are right I just want an excuse." She'd probably do it without an excuse but it was better to have an excuse, just to be safe. She and Em were very similar but so different at the same time. They both loved every member of the clique and were both protective as heck. The only difference was that Natalie was more blunt and honest and Em was a bit more gentle.
Nat narrowed her eyes when Lily denied hexing the boys. She quickly replaced her confused exterior with a bright and gleeful smile. "Oh well leaves more fun for me." She said nearly leaping for joy. A small piece of her was a bit apprehensive as to what Lily was so excited about. Her friend had stuttered and that stuttering usually meant...well it meant something had happened. Something rather--big.
When Lily actually explained what happed, Natalie's fists clenched. James Potter was dead, after she was finished lecturing Lily. "Tell me you are kidding." She nodded enthusiastically when Em asked if she was coming "I will have James Potter tarred and feathered like the patriots did to the loyalists during the American Revolution as fast as you can say give me liberty or give me death." Natalie's face was red and her voice rather loud. She was a bit relieved when Lily clarified but not completely. "I still can't believe this. I mean COME ON you and James TOGETHER? That's like the Ziegfeld Follies without scantily clad women! Or worse! Barbra without Funny Girl!!!"

The blonde smiled faintly at Emmeline. What else could she say that hadn’t been said already? She really did need to go find a good bloke. Maybe put up a notice on the notice board here in the common room. Blonde looking for good bloke. Tall, dark, handsome with a requirement not to break the blonde’s heart. Yes. That would work wonderfully. Her eyes glanced around the room, involuntarily searching for someone who fitted that description. A Gryffindor. Maybe she’d date a lovely Gryffindor lad. Or sleep with one, as Lily just announced.
Alice needed to dig her ears. Did Lily just say she slept with James? That was a very causal way of telling her friends that she’d gotten into bed with someone who she spent the majority of her teenage life hating. “Are you serious?” Alice stared up at Lily, who had begun to take back her words. Okay, maybe she was a little confused. Didn’t sleeping with someone mean one thing only? Like sex that resulted in pregnancies. When Lily explained herself, Alice kept quiet to take in the two brunettes’ reactions. This was going to be interesting. Sure enough, Em said she was going to kill James and Nat was going to follow along. She couldn’t help but smile a little at Natalie’s comparison to the American Revolution.
“So while these two lovely ladies stalk down the Head Boy and murder him…” Alice started speaking, placing emphasis on the position James Potter now held. “Can I ask exactly how he managed to end up sleeping next to you with his arm around you? Did you get drunk? Did he Confund you? Maybe he slipped you a Love Potion.” The blonde peered at Lily, looking for signs that she was under a Love Potion. She didn’t seem to be. “I mean, he does know half his Quidditch Team will go on strike if he hurts you in any way. Right?” Alice tilted her head, looking at the redhead. She’d just implied she was going after James. Though not in the manner Em and Nat were doing so. Lily and she might not get along all the time, but that didn’t mean she didn’t care about her annoying friend.

imma get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans Lily and Alice had always had their problems. The two had just never clicked with each other. Lily got bad vibes from Alice, something she would keep to herself and away from Emmeline and Natalie. Why did she keep it to herself? Most likely since she couldn't come up with a way to explain it without coming off as rude. Ah, Lily. Always putting her foot in her mouth. She really needed to think about her words if they had a double-standard. This one in particular was most likely one of her worst "foot-in-mouth" moments.
"We didn't sleep together like that!" she assured, trying to calm down her insane friends. Emmeline looked like she was going to murder him the very next second she saw him. Natalie looked furious as well. Alice looked kind of shocked as well, but she did remain quiet. Lily was sure her face was turning a bit red in the face of embarrassment. Had Lily not paid much attention to American History or Natalie's obsession with musicals, she would not have understood any of her best friend's comparisons.
Alice opened her mouth and started talking. Lily rolled her eyes, but answered her question nonetheless. She was sure if she didn't answer Alice, then someone was going to ask her at some point. "Well," Lily started, trying to remember it all and put it into words. "First off - he's really changed this year, you guys!" She told them all, sitting down on the arm of a chair, "He's not as much of a arrogant toerag this year!" she defended her new boyfriend. Oh, bugger. She still had to come up with a way to tell them that. Oy, they'd get a kick out of that for sure!
"I'm sure he does know that you three are going to confront him about last night." she told Alice. She had to tell them the story before she got off topic. "Anyway, we got to talking and... things," she blushed a bit, thoughtfully leaving out the part about the two Heads kissing, hoping it wasn't too visible, "and we wound up sleeping together on the couch." she looked at each of her friends, trying to gather something positive and supporting from at least one of their reactions. be your teenage dream ( T O N I G H T ) words;; 379 outfit;; click tagged;; emmeline, natalie, alice, lily music;; teenage dream - katy perry notes;; :3 this thread = <3 credit;; marmarizzle on CAUTION 2.0

Emmeline nodded vigorously at Natalie's suggestion of tarring and feather James. It was a ancient and yet quite effective method of torture that she had learned about n school before coming to Hogwarts. "Sounds good to me," She agreed, pulling her wand out and already contemplating all the spells that she could use on James to inflict pain upon him. She didn't understand Natalie's references but just agreed to them anyway, sure they were something to do with music. "Oh who cares if he's Head Boy, he also happens to be Quidditch Captain and our seeker, what do I care? We've got a backup seeker anyway don't we?" The only thing that might stop Em from permanently injuring James was the fact that whether they had a backup seeker or not, he was the best seeker at Hogwarts and without him they didn't have a chance of beating Slytherin for the Quidditch cup.
Emmeline stood around for a few more minutes while her friends talked, there was debate from Alice about how James had managed to get Lily to sleep with him, and then Lily began defending him, saying he had changed and he wasn't as arrogant as he used to be. "Oh come on Lily!" Em said, slightly exasperated, "James Potter has always been an arrogant fool, and he always will be." Em and James tended to clash a lot, part of the problem being his and Lily's feuding over the years, and another part of it was the fact that Em was a little bitter at being passed over for Quidditch Captain. Yes James was a good Quidditch player, so was she! And while she did get in trouble she didn't loose nearly as many points for Gryffindor as he did. Plus there was also the fact that Em just liked arguing and she and James' personalities just clashed way too much. "Okay well I'd love to stay and chat, but I need to go have a talk with out Head Boy." And then she turned to walk away from her friends, determined not to let them stop her before she gave James a piece of her mind and a warning promising broken limbs if he hurt Lily.
