Mallory cannot wait until she graduates from Hogwarts. This pureblood could not wait until she was out of the school building. Unfortunately, it was another two years. The quicker, the better. The last thing she wanted was to stay cooped up in this building for the rest of her life. She would watch her professors, examining their body language as they walked the halls. Mallory could tell that some of them would die for the sake of this school. Personally, she did not see why, but she supposes some people were just like that.
Lolo walked up to the owlery as fast as she could. She wanted to mail this letter to the subject of her affection. Of course, she was much more subtle in her letter - well, she hoped. All of her friends thought she was insane for claiming to be in love with this 20-year-old man whom she barely knew. They would all be proved wrong anyway, so it was not like their opinions mattered to her about this. Sure, she loved her friends and would be completely lost without all of them, but in this case, they had no idea what they were talking about. Point blank.
She had just gotten released from her last class. The letter had been waiting up in her dormitory, already written. He had sent her a letter the night before, and she wrote back immediately. The downside of the thing is that she could not leave the dormitory, seeing as it was well past midnight. She cursed to herself and fell asleep in a grouchy mood. The next morning, she woke up late, so she did not have the time to mail it then. She was irritated the entire day, but now that she could go and mail it, her mood was getting brighter.
She walked up and immediately spotted her tawny owl, Tawny. Nope, not very original, but the owl was like a dear friend to Mallory. She petted the owl briefly, then she smiled as she tied the letter to its leg. "Do I even need to tell you who to send it to?" Mallory joked. The past several letters she had sent out had not been to her family - she let her brothers take care of writing to them - it had been to her true love. Mallory had laughed when the owl hooted in response. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WORDS: 400 OUTFIT: click! NOTES: open to anybody! CREDITS: marmarizzle on CAUTION 2.0

The very unpleasant task of writing Eileen Prince Snape normally fell upon Severus's shoulders at least once a month. The letters that he had to write were written in a grudging manner and if he could help it they were kept painfully short. It was as if each word he wrote was drawing blood from his fingers grasping the quill, even though on the contrary it was not hurting him at all. He merely hated writing his mother because doing so meant that he was encouraging the fact that they were related and that she was actually married to that moron. He had little choice in the matter of course when it came to writing her because if he refused to then she made it her mission to flood him with letters -- all of which she probably penned beneath the cover of night [because Tobias hated the presence of owls in the house at all]. She truly has nothing better to do, Severus thought to himself as he descended the steps to the owlery. He preferred to use the steps bordering the outside of the owlery tower because he did not want anyone to see him sending this letter. He was ashamed of it in a way, he didn't feel like he could be proud of his family like so many others could. It was true that he was not from the purest of bloodlines, nor had his parents done anything notably -- so thus he found no reason to be proud of them.
Seeing as it was later in the day Severus found himself hoping that the owlery would be empty if not close to it. Although no one would be able to see the address on the envelope he would need to tell the school owl where to send the damn thing and that was enough. He hated uttering those words 'Eileen Prince Snape' to the stupid bird when he happened to be in the company of others. Mostly Sev was scared about what they would say and if they would mock him for sending out the letter. Of course everyone had to owl their parents, but Severus was most often the butt of the joke that everyone made at his own expense. Considering his status as the school scapegoat it was more likely that they would make fun of him for sending a letter home. Sev hated thinking about his family above everything just because it reminded him so much of all the flaws in his life. He considered it the root of his problems.
Reaching the top of the stairs he entered the owlery as silently as he could, much to his dismay there was already a girl standing there. He identified her as what he thought to be a Ravenclaw, who was younger than him. Yet he remembered this only vaguely so he could have been wrong. Severus walked past her and held out his arm as if to beckon one of the school owls from above. "Wake up!" Severus hissed calling to the owls that were seemingly asleep above him. The nearest one cooed a bit, almost as a malicious response to his command. Despite this angry reaction the owl sleepily stepped off his perch and flew to Sev's outstretched arm. The owl landed claws first on Sev's sleeve so that now he could fell the light pressure of the owl's claws against his arm. In a rather hesitant manner he stroked the owl's back before tying his letter to it's leg. He knew that he was going to have to mutter the address to the owl and the person to whom the letter had been addressed, but he wanted to wait a few seconds. His fingers had fumbled slightly with the knot that he had tied on the owl's leg to secure the note to it. His black eyes wandered towards the other side of the room glancing at the girl that still stood there. Sev easily found the agitation rising in his veins once more, it was as if he were always in a constant state of annoyance these days.

Mallory had had a fairly great upbringing. Any damage that happened to her was done by her most likely. Mallory always fell down and ran into the things. Her parents were well off, they didn't hover over her constantly. It was a great childhood, but to Mallory, it was awful. It wasn't what she wanted. However, the teen was very sheltered away from the real life. Her twin brother had gathered the majority of Ferris and Elizabeth's attention. He was a hassle, unlike her.
She was the quiet baby in that family. Was it a family? Sure, it was a bit dysfunctional, and sure, they were not a tight-knit family, but they were still family. They most definitely were not close. Mallory was sure she wrote more to Samuel than she did her own mother and father. She and her brothers were somewhat close. They were all in different houses, so they were as close as they could get. The twins' older brother was in Hufflepuff, but he always found time to check in with the two twins.
Lolo and her twin were closer when they were little. They still had that special twin connection, but they still were not as close as they were when they were little children. As children, the two would never be apart. Now, they hardly saw each other. Mallory was very separated from her family. She did not want to be around them constantly. She loved her brothers a lot, but she did not like to be around them. Why? Let's call it.... 'intimidation'.
Someone had entered the owlery. Mallory turned around swiftly. She saw a Slytherin seventh year. Immediately she grew a bit anxious. She watched his actions, as he beckoned a owl rudely. Mallory furrowed her eyebrows at his behavior. She then looked over his appearance. She recognized him. This boy was the Slytherin that the Marauders had always tormented. What was his name? Surely 'Snivelous' was not his birth name. This would bother her until she remembered the male's name. She stared at him, not moving from her spot next to where the owl she had previously sent off had left. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WORDS: 360 OUTFIT: click! NOTES: not at all! The talons of the owl continued to cut into his arm as if the bird were suddenly rebelling against him for his earlier rude conduct. The owl looked rather spiteful actually, it seemed to refuse to stare at Snape even though it would need to pay attention to find out where the letter was going. Since Sev did not own an owl he had to use the school's and considering they were always being sent off to the different locations there was never a set location to send it to. It would not know where it was going until he said something. The frustration of Sev's current situation seemed to have gotten even worse when he felt the girl behind him staring at him. Far to familiar with the feeling of someone else's eyes boring into his back, Severus ignored her for the moment. He looked at the owl thoughtfully and then to the window, perhaps if he made his move quickly she would not hear him. He could only assume that she knew who he was even though they were not in the same house or year, everyone at Hogwarts knew who he was. He had a bad reputation and an even worse rap sheet when it came to detention and being punished, half of which were crimes that he did not commit. Yet no one would believe him when he was clearly the only one left behind with the evidence. Bloody Marauders..
Standing beside the window, Severus felt his temper raising as it didn't seem like this girl would stop staring. After what felt like forever Severus turned on his heel and finally faced her, "What are you staring at?" The words came out in a quick snap, as his black eyes seem to have sparked a little with sudden annoyance. He seemed to have taking a step or two forward as if to put emphasis on his question, maybe even to indicate to her that she needed to stop said action. The owl on his arm jumped back a bit in alarm at its handler's sudden out lash, which had taken place without much warning. It hooted in such a manner as to express its own disgust before falling silent again and turning its back on Severus once more. Severus did not seem to notice its shock even though its claws had dug a few centimeters deeper into the sleeve of his robe. During his short life he had endured many stares and none of them had been all too friendly, normally they were the scrutinizing sort or even the type filled with malice. He was not sure at this moment if this girl were staring at him with curiousity or if it were merely disgust. This did not seem to matter though all that bothered him at the moment was that she had taken up the sudden urge to stare at him. Being observed had never been Sev's strong point, nor was it about to become one.
Now it seemed as if a five minute trip to the owlery was more likely to last an hour or so if this girl happened to want to chat. Why else could she be staring? Severus narrowed his black eyes at her now, his face was clearly betraying all the frustration that he was currently feeling. He had never been very good at containing his temper, it just seemed as the years wore on he cared less and less to do so. In fact such a temper would perhaps be useful soon enough, well that and his need to seek revenge and hold long grudges against people. Certainly, it would all be very useful with the passing time.

Mallory watched the boy stand there. He looked like he was having a staring match with the poor owl. What was his bloody name? Mallory had an awful memory, especially for a Ravenclaw. She studied the owl's behavior, then the boy's. The owl had seemed stubborn and malicious. It was not looking at the Slytherin who was seeming to have some issues trying to get the owl to cooperate. Honestly, had she been in the owl's place, she would have done the same thing. This seventh year had barged in grumpily and seemed bitter.
She jumped a bit. How long had she been staring at him for? And his lashing out at her was completely uncalled for and unnecessary. "Obviously, you." Mallory retorted at the moody man. She stood unfazed by his yelling at her, though his dark, empty eyes had frightened her a lot - not like she would act like he had. She saw nothing wrong with her staring at him. She was just trying to figure out where she had seen him before and what the bloody hell his name was.
Mallory stared back at this boy. If she was making him mad and irritated, good. He most likely deserved it, judging from the way he was acting just then. "Why are you staring at me like that?" So staring may have had a positive connotation. It looked like he was blowing the fifteen-year-old up in his head. The question was a bit rhetorical, but she wasn't sure her tone made that obvious or not. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WORDS: 258 OUTFIT: click! NOTES: ugh, absolutely awful post cuz i'm sick! ! CREDITS: marmarizzle on CAUTION 2.0

Severus never took kindly to people staring at him, as did many when it came down to such a thing -- but him especially of course considering he had always been a magnet for such unwanted publicity due to the Marauders' antics. Perhaps it was one of the many reasons why he had snapped at the young girl that had suddenly taken to staring at him in the owlery that evening. Severus silently found her behavior unsettling because it made him wonder if there was some new rumor that had popped up that was circulating about him. If that were the case he may have known by now, but if it were new she could have just heard said rumor and was possibly wondering if it were true. With every new rumor came a bucket load of more unwanted attention unfortunately to Severus's own dismay. Certainly if there was something fresh circulating around the school he would hear it, if not now then tonight most likely considering a few of his classmates were far to up to date on the gossip going around the school. Severus himself did not have a fondness for rumors or to have a handle in everyone's business unless they might be of some use to him. Like most Slytherins he did possess that knack for being resourceful and craving the company of only those who were powerful and manipulative. Yet this behavior did have some drawbacks, it also had some exceptions -- but those were few and far between. Severus had had one in his past, but it turned out that the clever redhead no longer wanted much to do with him anymore unfortunately.
Yes, there was again. The thought of her, he had tried to stop all thinking on such matters considering that bridge had burned far to long ago to dwell much on it now. Despite these facts Severus did spend a sometimes inconvenient period of time thinking about her and what had happened. Some things were near impossible to shut out of his mind and that thing was one of them. Why weren't things like this more simple? Severus had not the slightest clue and so it would continue to bother him and he would continue to question it. The only thing that he really was aware of at this moment in time though was that this girl continued to stare at him, nearly without reason. Feeling his blood beginning to boil below the surface of his pallid skin, Severus raised his black fathomless eyes once more towards her when she spoke. "And why might you be staring at me?" Severus responded in an aggrevated hiss. Even though he was able to hold his temper relatively well these days occasionally the small things got to him, this being one of them currently. Well that and the thought of a certain someone had probably just set him on edge too.
"And I thought it was obvious." Severus responded bluntly to her rhetorical question -- to him it just seemed like another opportunity to be snide. Any opportunity was one that he never failed to take, like most Slytherins Severus had a reputation for being repulsive and mean -- perhaps that was the way it always was. Although his anger and his nasty attitude towards the world was not without justification considering the harsh childhood that he had endured and the torment that had followed in all his years at Hogwarts. No one really had intentions of befriending Severus Snape, not now and not ever... at least not since her.
