• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - - James paced back and forth, was he avoiding the guys? Of course not, he couldn’t possibly be avoiding his best mates, in the entire world. Then why was this becoming so difficult? James pulled the black frames from his face setting them on the side table. Then what the bloody hell was he doing insides the Head Tower? He came running here as if an infant running from a spook. Better yet he ran as if he life depended on it. Sirius was already rampaging around the school, James wanted to join him, but he was worried. What was Harrison doing at this moment? James never thought about his father so much in his entire life, actually next to Evans he never thought of people often besides himself. Remus had his fair share of moments in James thoughts but that was about it. He had sent an owl an hour ago, his father responded saying he was just fine and not to worry. Well, for once in James Potter’s life he was worrying and he was going to continue to worry until someone knocked him out.
He didn’t have time for this, he had quidditch to train for, Snape to torment, first year girls to woo, and he still had to win Evans over. Though the point was becoming rather mute. Would she go on forever hating him and his life would simply be miserable. “Mph,” James grumbled falling backwards onto the cushioned chair. So much thinking, he was bound to go bald one of these days. He pulled at the raven locks attempting to pull the stress along with the pieces of hair, yet much to his dismay it was hardly working. Glaring towards the ceiling what was their left to do but suck it up. He should be outside enjoying the sunshine, throwing lollipops with Sirius. So much stress, so little time to stress about it. His thoughts continued to wander. James pushed himself up from the chair with ease as he shoved his hands into his jean pockets.
Pulling the left out he ruffled the back of his hair, his mother always mocked a slap at his hand. She always claimed that’s why his hair was greasy most of the time. There he went again, mother. Dam death, dam her illness, dam the thought of the ones a person loved most disappeared for time and all eternity. He was passed the small amount of tears, he was no longer sad(which was a lie) he was tormented, frustrated. How could this happen to him? He had his life all planned out from day one at Hogwarts. Make Sirius your best friend, check. Find some fellow best mates, Check Check, cause mayhem, check. Break some hardcore rules; a stag check was placed on this list. Woo the girl, er-well it was almost a check.
Who was he kidding? James had a few things in life but what did he really have? And why did it take his mother to die to be a wakeup call this powerful. Sighing James slumped against the wall starring outside the window, he could see Students hurrying about, life was all lying in their hands and none of them understood that. The war was coming, sides were forming, what if his mother was just a sign?
A sign to straighten himself up before it was to dam late? Sliding down to his haunches James rested his forehead in his plam. If he thought this much he was going to end up like Remus, always worrying about the what if’s. This was nonsense. James looked up verifying where he exactly was, the Head Tower. In fact, he was already turning into Remus. He wounded up here of all places to hide. It used to be the pitch, and now it was the Head tower. Dear Merlin, have mercy, James Potter was losing his…James Potterish.

WITH THE TASTE OF YOUR LIPS I’M ON A RIDEYOU'RE TOXIC, BOY I’M SLIPPING UNDER It was the first week back to Hogwarts, and Lily already wanted to go home. The only thing she needed done this year was to pass the year's N.E.W.Ts with flying colors. She didn't want this excess drama. This was the year that she wanted to spend with her mother and father. Were they overprotective? Of course! Whose parents weren't? Even they knew about the war that was coming up. The war worried her. Who would she lose to it? Her father? Knock on wood. If she lost her father, she might as well have lost her mother. Her parents were incredibly close. They seemed to know everything about each other.
Speaking of her mother, something was going on. Lily had absolutely no idea what though. Her mother had always been protective over her. But now? She was jumpy, worried and all the like. She didn't know what to do. She tried to go visit as much as she could. She wrote her mum every day, at least twice. I mean, Faith was already protective, but this was more than usual. Lily had planned for her seventh year out this summer. It was going to be perfect.
Well that plan was a bust. She got to the train and heard that James Potter - James Potter - was the Head Boy. She had found out the summer that she was Head Girl. She wans't looking forward to it anymore. But something was different; something was different about James. It was weird. He didn't ask her out when they saw each other. That used to happen all the time, every chance James got he would ask Lily out - and she would decline without a thought.
All of her luggage would have been moved to the Head dorms by now. After the sorting ceremony and dinner she walked around the halls. She checked her schedule, and it showed she didn't have any classes in the morning. She lucked out. It was getting late to the red-head, and she figured she ought to get back to the Head dorms. She wasn't on hall-watching duty tonight. Some fifth years had volunteered to do so, so who was she to tell them no? She walked back to the dormitory, almost getting lost in the process.
She finally found the dorms. They were in a small tower that Lily hadn't even noticed the first six years she had attended this school. She went inside and saw James in the room already. She walked in, unsure of what to say. Normally she would ignore him - which she considered at the moment considering he looked like he was deep in thought. "Hi," she said awkwardly. with a taste of a poison paradise i'm addicted to you; don’t you know that you’re toxic -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WORDS: 452 OUTFIT: hmph, well this is a nifty little link NOTES: i'm excited! :S CREDITS: marmarizzle on CAUTION 2.0

• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - - The definition of explosion was about to happen. James brain aka the unoccupied space next to the Quidditch museum was shutting down. He could help but feel slightly drained, how did people actually study? These were just life problems and he was at mental capacity. James heard the click of the door but hardly moved, it was someone who would walk past him and go straight to bed or something crazy like that. James paused when they footsteps stopped. ‘Hi.’ James head lifted faster than he could move his feet. He turned rubbing his eyes, his eyes didn’t need glasses to see the gorgeous frame of the one who would never love him back. Or the fact that her red hair was a complete dead giveaway, he had 20/400 vision he wasn’t color blind. “Hi,” James breathed slowly. James dropped his hand towards the ground, the ground. He froze in sheer panic, he looked vulnerable. Like something was bothering him, nothing bothered James Potter.
“Lily,” Now he was stuttering like an idiot, impressive. He was going to have to try even harder to make up for lost points now. Looking vulnerable, and calling her Lily and not Evans. This was going to be two extra hours of asking her out now, or following her after N.E.W.T.S study core. James pushed himself to his feet quickly, where was his glasses again? James turned hitting the side table knocking it over. Great, wandless, glasses less, in front of Lily. Where was Padfoot when he needed him the most? Oh right, he ran to the Head Tower…James clasped his palm to his forehead. Now what? He asked Lily for help. She would never let him live that one down. James bit down on his bottom lip trying to make our the blurry images of the furniture. Well if Lily really hated his guts as much as she claimed to, this would be watching a poor squirrel get hit by a dump truck after rescuing a family of ducklings. James instantly reached to his back pocket hoping his wand would appear nothing.
“Uh, Lily…I hate to bother you,” James turned to where he could make out the red hair blurred image. James put a hand out trying to find the side of the table that had turned over. Grasping the leg he slowly bent down, that’s right. They were on the table. Now where were they? Here went nothing. “Could you see if you could find my glasses…” James was about to add a comment to the end of that, one that probably would have left him stranded and blind, where he wouldn’t be rescued any time soon. Though he stopped, he really needed her help. “Please,” James stammered. He didn’t like feeling helpless, though it seemed to be a reoccurring feeling. James pulled the black hoodie closer to his neck as hoping to avoid any hexes that Lil-Evans might have planned for him, since he had no idea what she was really doing. Dam vision. And he was worried about looking like an idiot because he was hunched over in a corner, he could have passed that off as a new quidditch technique. This, this was just getting pathetic.

WITH THE TASTE OF YOUR LIPS I’M ON A RIDEYOU'RE TOXIC, BOY I’M SLIPPING UNDER Lily stood there for a minute, watching James. It felt a little awkward, but she was a bit concerned. He looked like he had something on his mind, but this was James! He couldn't have anything on his mind because he had lost it so many years ago. She wanted to ask him what was wrong. Had it been anybody else she would have, but this was James. The James she knew before today would never let her live it down. She walked towards him. He looked different without his glasses on. Or rather, everyday when she saw him, he always had his glasses on, so she never saw him without them.
She looked at him when he stuttered her name. Wait. Her name? He said, 'Lily' and not 'Evans'. What was happening to the world? "Yes?" she watched him throw his hand around. Her eyebrow raised questioningly. He looked very pitiful at the moment. She could tell that he couldn't see without his glasses. She felt a bit bad for the boy, but she wasn't going to tell him that. He'd never let her live it down.
There he went, calling her Lily again. She considered making up that she had to go do something, but he was saying sweet things. This time it wasn't just because either. He sounded a bit embarrassed to ask her for help. She watched him put his hand out and grab the table side. "Um," she started, looking from were she was standing, just in case he was missing them completely. Hey, it was a chance! Evidently, the boy's eyesight was worse than she thought. She was about to speak again, but he stammered out the 'magic word'. She stopped at this for a bit. Did the infamous James Potter just ask Lily Evans for help? Nicely?
"Yes, I suppose," She walked towards him and knelt down. "What were you up to anyway?" she asked, "Before turning into a helpless puppy without eyesight?" she asked. She stood back up and walked to the other end of where the table had fallen over. She picked them up and saw that they were a bit murky. "Found them," Eh. If he thinks it's too dirty, he can fix it." She walked back over to him and waited for him to stand back up so she could give it back. with a taste of a poison paradise i'm addicted to you; don’t you know that you’re toxic -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WORDS: 394 OUTFIT: hmph, well this is a nifty little link NOTES: i'm excited! :S CREDITS: marmarizzle on CAUTION 2.0

• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - - James could hear the hesitant manner in Lily’s voice and it was making him incredibly nervous. He was horrible at figuring out what people meant by their tone of voice. In fact he was horrible at knowing what people meant through the actual words he spoke, better yet a female, better yet Evans. He sighed, she was going to leave him here to fend for himself, and he could just feel it. James listened though, she hadn’t left him. He turned to face her once more, tripping over the side of the table he had been grasping, falling straight onto his back. Pathetic, just hit an all new low. He was going to receive hell from Sirius if Lily ever mentioned any of this even a word. Sirius already had a huge problem with Prongs settling for one girl(who pretended he didn’t exist) when there were a million begging for his attention, if this was found out, his life would end. “Don’t-,” James paused when Lily began speaking, his whole sentence stopping.
She was going to help him? He quirked an eyebrow in the direction he thought was Lily. He hadn’t been hexed or even scolded. Maybe she was having an off day too, maybe she needed comforting…from a blind…idiot who’s frolicking in corners. James rubbed the back of his shoulder which hit against the floor the hardest. Footsteps again, she was walking towards him, she was really going to help. He couldn’t have fantasized a better situation, well- actually. It involved the black lake a heroic rescue and a nice snog, and that beautiful peach tank Lily loved wearing. It hung aroun-. James paused gathering his thoughts back together. As strange as it sounded he could smell her, it was that perfume she received from her mother a year back. Don’t ask James how he knew that. Well actually he knew from Frank, and James made a huge attempt to be one of Frank’s best friends. Then it was a quick halt as Lily spoke again, James froze listening to her, then the car slammed into a brick wall.
“I- well, you see. I was, waiting for one of the-,” Today was the first day, weren’t they supposed to be on hall duty. He froze, James Potter was out of excuses. He couldn’t tell Evans of all people about his mother, even Sirius didn’t know the complete truth. He wanted no one to know. The silence was extrememly loud, awkward. At least he couldn’t see, he couldn’t watch as Lily rolled her beautiful eyes backward and nod her head to the side, the way she always had when she got tired of listening to him. “I was waiting for you Lily,” Well, there was door number one, run away, door number two, he was in pain and was slightly pathetic, or door number three sweet talk until your arse falls off. Then the puppy statement, he knew he looked like a silly creature. Puppy though? How could he twist that? James smiled softly towards the ground. “I was thinking squirrel, but hey all females love pups so I can handle that. It’s almost a compliment coming from you.” James heard Lily’s statement, she found them! Would he have the nerve to put them back on just to watch her bolt off, rolling those eyes at him. Another year of disappointment.
Was he really ready for Evans to deny him again, with all this…thought provoking episodes he was having? He glared towards the ground, did his puppy comment just screw up the one civilized conversation they’ve ever hold. Oh god, that perfume again. James couldn’t help but take in the scent for a second. Who was he joking? He didn’t deserve Evans, he knew that now. Though how could you give up on something you had been working for, for seven years of your life? He couldn’t just give up because he was hit upside the head by his good friend death. James rubbed the back of his head pulling himself back to his feet, rising slowly so he wouldn’t bump into Lily, or well give her enough time to move out of the way. He held his hand out for his glasses. His lips parted about to ask for them back when the scent hit once more. It matched her, it matched everything he loved about her. The sweet flower scents, then the small hint of musk which could represent the power and strength she held. It was “Beautiful,” James froze. Idiot, to pathetic, to extremely awkward. “It’s…beautiful, my sight has almost been…returned,” James couldn’t help but stammer, too much, far too much.

WITH THE TASTE OF YOUR LIPS I’M ON A RIDEYOU'RE TOXIC, BOY I’M SLIPPING UNDER What was with this new James? What happened to the wise-cracking, "Yeah, I just said that; what are you gonna do?", "Marry Me, Evans" kid she had grown up despising? That was better than this awkward, defenseless James. Lily's hands shot up to her mouth when James fell backwards. She started giggling shamelessly. It was so unlike the James she knew and disliked. It took her a few minutes to calm down enough so she wouldn't seem rude and malicious when she asked. "Are you okay?" Well, she tried. If he had been completely blind and not seen her, he could hear that she was smiling through the tone in her voice. 'E' for effort, right?
Even though this was James and Lily was a bit cruel at times, she wasn't the type of person who would abandon someone if they couldn't see or something of that sort. At the moment, she could see and James could not, so she wasn't going to leave him stranded there because then she would feel guilty or people would make her feel guilty. It wasn't like James to be all clumsy. Was it like Lily? Sure, depending on the day. But it was clearly unlike James. But then again, a lot of things that were happening were unlike Potter: calling her 'Lily', asking for help and not a date.
She kept her eye on him, eyebrow perched and all. She rolled her eyes dramatically. It wouldn't have been the first time he was waiting for her, the bloody stalker... She bit back a smile when he smiled. The smile fell when he went off talking about squirrels. She stopped listening, the rest of it was a numb buzzing sound. She stood back up, catching her balance quickly. Changing her mind about the glasses, he cleaned them against the edge of her shirt quickly before inspecting them once more.
She wasn't sure why she did, but she put his glasses on his face for him. Why? She doesn't even know. Was she worried that he'd miss and hit his eye instead? Um...sure, let's go with that. An awkward silence filled the room, and Lily walked over to him. Brushing some of his hair out of his face with her hand, she put the pair of glasses on the bridge of his nose. She heard him mutter “Beautiful,”, but she wasn't sure if that was her imagination or something else. Then James stammered again. Her hands and arms dropped down back to her arms as if they were on fire. "A-almost?" she asked. Wow, Good job, Lily. Make the situation more awkward, she thought. with a taste of a poison paradise i'm addicted to you; don’t you know that you’re toxic -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WORDS: 447 OUTFIT: hmph, well this is a nifty little link NOTES: awkward james is awkward. <3 CREDITS: marmarizzle on CAUTION 2.0

• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - - “Fine,” James sputtered. He couldn’t believe this was happening to him. Going on seven years of a reputation was crumbling to bits all because his mother died? Was that even logical? James bit down on the bottom of his lip, he wasn’t quite sure what to say at this point. Lily neared him, he could make that much out. The closer she got the stronger the perfume was. His heart was racing; this was probably the closest she had willingly ever gotten to him. James held his breath, scared that the glasses were hexed or something. He dropped the outstretched hand the second he realized Lily was placing them on his face. He felt the pressure of the frames returned. He kept his eyes shut for a second to let them slowly readjust to remembering what it was like to see clearly. James sighed, the expression blind as a bat really didn’t cover it for his eyesight.
“Th-“ James paused, Lily’s hand brushed the hair from his face. Tingles outstretched every nerve in his body. The worst part was, he now had his glasses. He noticed every crease in Lily’s lips. The small blush painted on her cheeks, the perfume. Here he went again, the combination. If it was possible to be destined for someone, James knew it was her. Though, she had other plans. Though her touch, she wasn’t screaming, or yelling, she hadn’t even hexed him. Lily quickly dropped her hands and James tried to hide his utter disappointment. James could hear Frank’s voice in the back of his head. “Mate, when it gets awkward just remembers the song.” What song? What was the song? He watched as Frank’s lips moved but nothing came out of them. He would have to remind his good friend he wasn’t up to date on the muggle music scene and remembering things was just plain hard. Hazel orbs turned back to meet those beautiful green ones.
“Al-Al,” James paused once more, stuttering, since when did he stutter? That was it…stuttering. “You walk into the room and I, I, I, I I want to tell you but I just can’t speak, this shouldn’t be so difficult, Why, tell me why, I see you and I just can’t breathe” James shook his head, he had to pull it together before Lily up’ed and left. James quickly grabbed the hand that had dropped. Biting back on his lips, he focused on the words he was about to say. In the words of Frank ‘Drop Sirius lingo, Doesn’t work with Lily. Be the James that’s deep deep deep deep deep deep- somewhere inside’ He watched Lily’s awkward movements. It was going to be now or never. And possibly, maybe he wouldn’t be hexed at first, maybe he would enjoy a few seconds, milaseconds of it. James held tighter onto her hand, finally relaxing. It was amazing just what her touch did to him.
‘Be gentle, don’t be an idiot. Passion vs. need. Passion will win’ James took the advantage of the close distance. He may never get an opportunity like this again. It was now or never. James held his breath for a moment studying Lily, the silence was probably the worst feeling in the world. It felt like hours of contemplating this one thing, and yet it was seconds not even. James leaned forward, pausing; he leaned to the top of her forehead, planting a small kiss there. Dam that Passion vs. need, the perfume was radiating and he was about to bash his head into the wall. Silly Frank, what did he know? What if she ran away and he didn’t even have a kiss on the lips. Feeling slightly defeated James quickly pulled back. “Yeah, my sight is definitely better now.” Wow. Ruined. James rubbed the back of his head. Though looking back to her he couldn’t help but let the half smirk forming on his lips.
He did it. And he didn’t even have to half rape her either. How wonderful. Not what he dreamt of, but it wasn’t half bad. “Thank you Lily, I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t walked in,” The truth was, he wouldn’t have knocked over the table and the whole problem could have been avoided. Then again, that meant everything would have been avoided. The nerves under his forehead were still pulsing with heat from the touch of her hand. James looked down to their hands. He longed for this so badly. He smiled softly, there it was again. The small smile he hadn’t worn since his mother’s passing. She made it all disappear. She always did, even with red cheeks and a waving wand.

WITH THE TASTE OF YOUR LIPS I’M ON A RIDEYOU'RE TOXIC, BOY I’M SLIPPING UNDER Lily's smile was still quite prominent. He was definitely making her laugh and smile now - even if it was at the cost of his own gracefulness. What was she even doing? Was she being imperius'd and was completely unaware of it? What was happening to her? She could tell he was holding his breath. Why? She didn't know. Frank had always told her that she made him nervous. But that was when they were younger, surely that wasn't the same now, surely James had outgrown that?
She nodded silently, though he didn't even finish whatever his thought was. She assumed he was going to thank her. She was going to say, "You're welcome," but she couldn't find the words. Why? Why was he making her nervous now? That wasn't how things worked! Lily Evans was the one person who could make James Potter nervous - she thought. Not the vice versa. No, that just ruined every logic reasoning in this situation. What was she going to do now? She already knew that she was awkward when it came to boys. Her friends never let her live it down when it came to her previous boyfriends.
She turned her head to the side a bit and smiled as he stuttered. But the smile wasn't that big, she swears! In fact, you couldn't even tell it was a smile! That was a lie. To any bystander, Lily wasn't smiling. She was grinning. She tried biting down on her bottom lip to make her smile less prominent. That plan didn't really work as well as she had planned and hoped. She was about to walk off, back to her new dormitory, when she felt something grab her hand. The only thing in close proximity was Potter.
To be honest, she was half-tempted to jerk her hand away immediately. She looked down at their intertwined hands. She didn't know what to do. She didn't mind it. Lily didn't exactly mind Potter's presence when he was not being obviously obnoxious and whatnot. His grip tightened a bit, and she looked back up at his face. She didn't smile, she didn't frown, she didn't grimace. Her facial expression was completely unreadable - as were her thoughts. If one thought that the two were in close proximity before, there would be no words to describe it now - honestly.
James and Lily were quite close. The room was quite silent at the moment; she could swear that she could hear his heart beat, or at least his breathing. She could feel and see him staring at her. She was staring back into his deep, hazel eyes. Lily was still breathing, albeit very quietly. She froze when he leaned forward. Was he going to kiss her? Her eyes glazed over briefly, until she felt his lips against her forehead. He stood back upright, and she stared at him disbelievingly. What?. When he said his sight was better now, what was she supposed to say? She spat out, "Good?" though it came out more like a question than a statement. As his mouth turned into a smirk, her glance at him turned quite stoic.
Lily chuckled a bit, "Well you probably would have been wandering around like an aimless puppy," she stopped herself, "or squirrel, if you want," her mouth turned into a smirk to match his and her eyebrows rose, "until somebody else came in and saved you." It may sound cheesy, but Lily could still feel the touch of his lips on her forehead. The warm feeling against her skin from his lips was missed. He hadn't ever kissed her forehead before (most likely because she would have hexed him into oblivion), so the feeling was quite foreign. She had completely forgot that they were holding hands. When he looked down, she did as well. Seeing their hands together as they were made her cheeks flush a color that could rival the red in her hair. Why wasn't she letting go? "Uh..." she stammered. • THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - - James looked down to the hands, it was possible to hold Lily’s hand without her flinching. The dignity was back, maybe there was still a chance. Maybe his mum provided this chance. Well he sure wasn’t going to ruin it now. James heard the last bit of what Lily said, something about someone else coming in and saving him. James shook his head, what a horrible plan. Lily was meant to be the brilliant one right? He tried to push it out of his mind. At the moment he was about he felt like he could run a marathon. Lily Evans, the woman of his dreams was currently standing holding his hand, hadn’t even hexed him for his kiss on forehead. What happened the day his mum died? A whole new life? Did the whole world flip around? He lost something amazing in his life and maybe this was life’s way of trying to make him feel better? Well if it was, it was working. Lily’s hand twitched and hazel eyes dropped to meet their hands. James couldn’t help but let the smirk transform into a full blown smile.
Bloody Hell, Frank was right! One day you’ll listen to me, and you’ll owe me firewhiskey. Until then, teach me how to get out of the friend zone with Alice. James shook his head, no bloody way would Frank win over Sirius’ advice. Then again, this was Sirius. He never had to worry about wooing a girl to keep forever, if she didn’t like Sirius (which this was an extreme occasion) he ran off and found someone else. Frank, oh Frank. James would praise the ground he walked on one day. Maybe he would give the singing thing a try. Nah. That was crazy talk. His world didn’t change THAT much. James pulled Lily’s hand closer to him. There was hardly any room between them to begin with. Pulling her hand, James other hand lifted to Lily’s chin. This would still be passion but fulfilling need too. Frank with a little bit of Sirius just to satisfy him. Why did that sound so bloody wrong? James shrugged, re-focusing on the redhead beauty. To make things short she didn’t make him think of Frank or Sirius in any form.
Lily’s chin was still cold as if she had just returned from outside. James leaned closer, barley brushing his lips against hers. He paused; the touch itself could have done him in long before the perfume hit. The hand fell from her chin to her shoulder. James pressed his lips farther against hers. Seven years he had been waiting for this, this one kiss. He had gone farther with plenty of other girls, but this one kiss. This kiss was far more than anything else with any girl. And she hadn’t even returned it. What would happen if she returned it? He may just jump out the window to find Sirius and dance around with him. Then again, Sirius may bash him on the side of his head. James pulled away slowly, his face still close to hers. His hot breath lingered as he quietly spoke. “You know, Lily. You always know how to turn everything around,” It was true. James was bi polar for a few good seconds.
His life sucked and he was pouty James Potter sitting in the corner without his glasses tugging at his hair. He then transformed into Romeo, who was klutzy and stuttered and came up with cheesy lines just in time to prevent a hexing-er-well-. He hopefully had prevented the hexing. Then again he could have brought hexing to a torture curse after that move. What if he moved to fast? What if he just messed up the start of something amazing. Worrying. It was a good thing his whole life wasn’t spent like this, it seriously drove him nuts. James caught it once more, the perfume. Did he have enough nerve to bring it back up without saying something else to cover his hide. James paused looking back into the emerald jewels. “With my glasses back I’m tempted by sight and smell,” Creepy. James laughed pulling away from her. He rubbed the back of his head. Well that couldn’t have gone any worse. “The perfume…I…it was from your mum, huh?” Quick and smooth finish, well pretty smooth for the carcrash it started as.

WITH THE TASTE OF YOUR LIPS I’M ON A RIDEYOU'RE TOXIC, BOY I’M SLIPPING UNDER Lily had no idea what was going on. Her mind was going at a complete blank. It was as though she was unconscious, unaware of what was going on. But she wasn't. She knew exactly what was going on, but did she like it? ...Did she? Even she didn't know. He was different. The two had barely shared a full conversation with her, and she could already tell that he was different. Something about him was different, but she couldn't put her finger on it. Her heart was skipping a beat. It was fluttering like crazy. What was he doing to her? He had never had this effect on her before! Every other time he had reached for her hand, she would turn around and slap him or hex him... or both.
She had had previous boyfriends before, but none of them had ever had this effect on her. Her hand twitched, but she didn't even bother to look down at it. She probably would have turned even redder - if that was possible. She couldn't take her eyes off of his beautiful face. He smiled as if he had just won the Quidditch Cup. His smile was contagious. She couldn't help but smile back. But now, she found herself minding less and less. She was... falling for Potter? No, that's not possible? This was the Potter who had pestered her every day for the past six years of their life, the very same Potter who she couldn't stand at all, she was falling for?
While in these thoughts, Lily did not even notice James pulling her hand to him. When he pulled her hand, he had pulled her towards him too. She wasn't paying much attention. Her stomach fluttered again when she snapped out of her thoughts. All she saw was his shirt. That meant that she was pretty close to the boy. His hand lifted to her chin, and she already knew what he was going to do. She was numb. She's pretty sure her heart stopped when he kissed her. Out of normal reaction, she would have returned it - oh, she would have returned it in a heartbeat - but she didn't. Why? She didn't even know.
His lips were pressed further into hers. She wasn't complaining; he was a great kisser. There was no way describing the awkward feeling she felt by just standing there, letting him kiss her like that. Her mind was frozen, even when he pulled away from her. The only logical thing that could be understood on her mind that she could make out was her not wanting it to end. Their faces were still very VERY close when she felt his breath dancing around her face, teasing her. She opened her mouth, but no words came out, "Uh," she stammered. What the bloody hell was this all about? "Th-thanks?" She questioned awkwardly.
Had it been earlier years in Hogwarts, and he kissed her out of nowhere, she would have hexed him and cursed him like there was no tomorrow. She didn't even know what had came over her. She didn't even push him off of her and into the wall behind the two. She stared at him blankly, her eyes following his every move and action. When he starting talking to her again, she stared right into his deep hazel eyes. She had never noticed how beautiful they were until this moment. Her heart sunk a bit when he moved away from her. His comment made himself smile - for whatever reason - and she couldn't help but giggle a bit. What? Lily Evans giggling in the presence of James Potter? That was a first. He asked her about her perfume, and she got confused. "Uh.. uh-huh," she nodded, biting her lip a bit. with a taste of a poison paradise i'm addicted to you; don’t you know that you’re toxic -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WORDS: 634 OUTFIT: hmph, well this is a nifty little link NOTES: oy, i swear! • THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - - Talk about not knowing what to do, James had no idea what to do. Lily gave him nothing to go off. She didn’t kiss him back but she wasn’t hexing him either? Did he try for more or run away and pretend it never happened. He couldn’t help but wonder if he blew it, maybe she was speechless by his extreme awesomeness? Although he highly doubted that. James sighed quietly listening to Lily stumble around. Nothing, the woman gave him nothing. James let go of her hand finally. The empty space burned with anticipation of feeling whole again. Although that wasn’t going to happen for a while. The moment he pulled his hand away the aching began again. It was like Lily was the only one in the world who cured his broken heart. He rubbed the back of his head slowly stepping a full foot backwards. He had no idea what to say it wasn’t awkward now, he was just clueless. Hazel orbs studied the green ones before him trying to make out what to do or say.
“I’m…I’m sorry Lily,” James quietly stated. He didn’t know why he was sorry, he meant for that to happen. He backed up another space so his back was hitting the table. He had nowhere else to back up to. “I wasn’t thinking straight, I…didn’t mean-“ James paused trying to prevent himself to stumble into a world of stuttering. If he focused he could break the rules of the game. He looked towards the ground before looking back up into her face. “Lily, I things have been rough…I’m sorry” That was as much as Lily Evans was going to receive from him. James turned his back on Lily starring out the window as if he wished none of it happened. It would be a sad fault to loose the chance to know what Lily’s lips felt like.
Actually he wasn’t regretting that at all, those were the best and worst moments of his short life so far. They were the best by far, but worse because now he knew what he was missing. James pushed his hands into his sweatshirt pocket. Maybe the guys were right, maybe he should have given up a long time ago. He gave Lily plenty of chances to take his offer but she never wanted it. Now she would run around saying how she got to play Potter. She would be the one benefitting from this, not him. James sighed quietly once more. His breath just barely trickled from his mouth. He turned back towards the dormitories maybe he should go to bed. Call it a night and wake up and pretend nothing happened. He looked back to Lily, his better judgment was wrong, she didn’t like it. She wouldn’t have had the nerve to hex him at the moment. Well this was Lily. James let his shoulders drop once more trying to find the words. “I’m just…sorry” He finished, he moved a few steps towards the dormitories. Maybe if he went to sleep the day would end and the world would finish right after.

WITH THE TASTE OF YOUR LIPS I’M ON A RIDEYOU'RE TOXIC, BOY I’M SLIPPING UNDER What was she supposed to do? Up until she walked into this tower, she was under the impression that James was still an annoying and arrogant toe-rag. What happened to him over the summer that made him into this sweet and vulnerable person? She had to know, but how could she get him to tell her? More importantly, how could she bring it up in a casual conversation between two people who had a obsessive love/hardcore hate relationship who had just kissed. She didn't know, but she needed to figure out a way quick so she could ask him. She didn't want to be blunt and rude, but what other way was there? She was going to think of something - and quick!
He let go of her hand, and she couldn't help but look down at it. Her mouth turned into a small frown when she looked back up at him. She wasn't that great reading expressions, but she could tell that he was deep in thought. Her bottom lip stuck out as she stared at him again. He stepped away from her, and her expression grew more evidently saddened. He was apologizing? What for? She shook her head before he even explained himself. "Don't," she replied quietly. No, she was going to get an audible reply to James. He shouldn't have felt bad for stealing a kiss from her. "Don't apologize," she finished after he told her that things were rough.
She didn't know what to do. She saw him walk towards the dormitories and her first and immediate thought was to not let him go. She would be a fool to let him go after what happened. "James," she started quietly - quietly but audible, "James, please don't," She stepped around the table that was turned over sideways, and she grabbed his hand fiercely. She shook her head. Then, something clicked in Lily's mind. Her mind had processed what exactly he had said a few minutes ago. "Rough?" She repeated, her head turning to the side, "What did you mean, 'rough'?" Her tone of voice was genuinely concerned. Was this her opportunity to ask what happened to make him act like a decent human being? with a taste of a poison paradise i'm addicted to you; don’t you know that you’re toxic -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WORDS: 674 Whoo! OUTFIT: hmph, well this is a nifty little link NOTES: awkward lily makes everything better CREDITS: marmarizzle on CAUTION 2.0

• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - - James had one thing in mind, get out of there. He was just about to make it to the door when he felt something grab his hand. James let a quick audible breath cut shortly from his mouth. It was as if someone had punched him in the gut. He raised the hands to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. She had grabbed his hand, she didn’t want him to leave. James Potter was dreaming. James caught his breath turning to meet her. She wanted him to stay, she called him…James. His name never sounded that amazing. It took him a few moments to regain his breath; he stared back into those eyes. Those beautiful eyes, would it sound creepy if he requested her to say his name again? James eyes were rather puffy, he was thinking it was a result of thinking far too much. James watched her for a few seconds. Oh inner battles, he could tell she was struggling with one too. Maybe she was fighting whether what she was doing was crazy or not. He would egg on the devil right about now. No one had to tell him he most likely didn’t deserve Lily Evans.
James froze, he had slipped. He mentioned his life was rather rough. He bit down on his lips studying her eyes. He couldn’t look away, she had him trapped. He looked towards the ground, he shifted one foot then the other. He couldn’t tell her. James paused clearing his throat before meeting her glance. “I lost someone. Someone that meant the world to me…” James stated rather quietly. He could still be vague. “I’m scared.” Well. There went his mancard, right out the window. He could feel his voice starting to crack. He stopped talking, avoiding her eyes. He then cleared his voice hoping the tiny bit of emotion that had slipped in had disappeared. “I’m scared of losing the people…I love,” James repeated once more. He was deathly afraid. Frank talked about it all the time, were here one day, but a deatheater rampage could happen overnight. We could wake up the next morning with half the school gone.
James looked back down to the hands intertwined. “I’m scared,” James started once more, closing the gap between the two. James hands started shaking slowly. He wrapped one arm around Lily’s waist pulling her close to him. If she hexed him, he would understand. This was a little close for comfort. But considering James was opening up to Lily, he figured he would be safe until she at least figured out what was happening. James placed his head on the top of Lily’s. He dropped it slowly to her shoulder. His lips rather close to her ear. “I’m scared of loosing you, Lily Meredith Evans.” Considering the two statements that he just said, and how close they were. Lily had to put two and two together. James Shaant Potter just confessed he loved her. Everyone knew he fancied her, but with the guys the L word was of Satan. No one said the L word. James wrapped the other arm around her small frame pulling her even closer. “I’ve met death, I don’t like him.” James joked trying to lighten the mood that he had just set. James pulled back once more.
Hazel eyes searched her facial expression for any sign. He let go of her with one arm. Reaching towards his face he took his glasses off, setting them back on the table. He’d rather be blind then face what the possible expression would be after he said these words. He would never live them down once they were said. James took a deep breath in. He could find those emerald eyes even with his glasses off. (That was saying something). “I love you, Lily Meredith Evans. If anything happened to you…”James paused he could feel that weird emotion popping back up into his voice again. “I wouldn’t know what to do,” James then placed his lips on the goddess worthy ones. His lips moved slowly, passionately against hers. If his words didn’t sink into her. The kiss should, it was aggressive, it wasn’t that he was after something more. He really cared about this single red head before him. And if she ever left the world, he was bound to follow.

WITH THE TASTE OF YOUR LIPS I’M ON A RIDEYOU'RE TOXIC, BOY I’M SLIPPING UNDER The last thing Lily wanted was for James to leave her. Some new feeling had come over her. At this spur of the moment, something in her clicked and she finally realized something. She didn't want to question it anymore. She wanted him to be there with her forever. Was she in love with him? No. Would she be? At this rate, most definitely. He was being so incredibly sweet and "un-James like". It was the complete opposite of what he acted like in their earlier years at Hogwarts. In those years, everything the boy did was infuriating to her. Now, it was the opposite. Everything he did she cared about and read in to.
She sensed indifference in his expression and thoughts. What had happened? Before, Lily wanted to know out of pure curiosity; now she wants to know out of the feelings in her heart. What feelings? Lily couldn't tell you. She couldn't understand them herself, much less tell anybody else how she was feeling towards James. Ah! Look at her! She wasn't calling him Potter anymore! He had this sort of effect on her, but Lily didn't know if she wanted to complain anymore. This feeling was nice to have. She hadn't felt whole in quite a long time - at least two years. He healed her broken heart.
When he said he lost someone, her heart dropped. She stared into his sad hazel irises. "I'm so sorry," she empathized genuinely. He kissed her again. This time, she returned it. She had regained enough control over herself to be able to kiss him back this time. Her lips morphed into a smile as he pulled her closer. It was nice. Her face was buried into his broad and muscular chest when he pulled away. "Don't worry, James," she reassured, "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." She was super relieved that he couldn't see her cheek at the moment. She was positive that they were a deep scarlet. She chuckled bitterly. His comment about death wasn't particularly funny, "I don't think anybody does, James."
Her body was pulled away from his torso as she stared back into his eyes with her green ones. He took his glasses off, and she felt a little bit of comfort. At least now he can't see how bad I'm blushing - hopefully. Surely he could see her hair with its bright and proximity to his poor vision. She heard him breath deeply and braced herself. She smiled widely. Sure she knew he fancied her before, but it was a great feeling to hear he loved her. Her grin was put to a stop by his lips pushing against her own. She could feel the passion he was giving her, and she returned it without a second thought. Her arms snaking up to his neck, she pulled him closer to her - if that was even possible.
She pulled away a short period after. Her arms still around his neck, she looked him straight in the eye and smiled, "You don't know how it feels to hear that from you." she grinned at him. She hadn't smiled like how she was in a very long time. She reached up on her tiptoes and pecked his lips, "And yes, James. I love you too." she said sweetly. It was a rushed emotion, but there was no doubt that it was real. with a taste of a poison paradise i'm addicted to you; don’t you know that you’re toxic -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WORDS: 567 OUTFIT: hmph, well this is a nifty little link NOTES: <3333!<3 CREDITS: marmarizzle on CAUTION 2.0

• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - -
James heard her quiet apology, he couldn’t focus on it. If he focused to much about what the apology meant he would probably fall apart again. That’s when it happened, his kiss was returned. James Potter was being kissed was being schmoozed by Lily Evans. He was dreaming, he had to be. He thought her perfume was heavenly? Her kisses meant so much more, so much he had written off had be renewed. She had cared for him, a little, a fling, a crush anything was more than the everyday rejection. James’ smile continued to shine rather bright until she brought up that she hadn’t planned on going anywhere anytime soon. James leaned his head back against her shoulder. That was the funny thing about life, you never really got a say. James voice dropped to a mere whisper. “The war is heating up, things may get dangerous. I couldn’t let the rest of our time without, without-“ James was getting nervous again. Here came the over redundant stuttering he only had when trying to talk seriously with Lily.
James caught a tinge of red peek Lily’s cheeks as he pulled off his glasses. The more nervous she was rubbed off onto James, it was a good thing he took his glasses off after all. Lily commented that no one liked death. James nodded, he had no words. He couldn’t think of what to say to the understanding woman before him. It was a fairy tale, it was something out of a book. Something this perfect was hard to comprehend that it was happening. To all people him. Lily Evans the girl who deserved two times the man James was, had kissed him back. James body twitched as he felt the warmth of Lily’s arms snake around his neck. It would be an understatement if he said her touch did something strange to him. She connected the two bodies, absolutely no space was left between the two. Lily pulled away for a second, James body ached for the warmth. It was almost torture. His eyes attempted to focus as he spoke.
She didn’t know how wonderful he felt. He had been trying for six years, I guess good things did come to those who waited. But six years, six long, full of rejection years. Somehow, the one kiss he received was well worth all those years of feeling like Lily would never give him the time of day. James picked Lily up by the small of her waist spinning her around. “Trust me. I might have an idea.” James mumbled, kissing the side of her jawline. James then heard the words, he thought he would die before hearing. His heart raced and he swore for a minute he died and went to heaven. James decided it was time to twirl once more, he spun Lily once again stopping in the same position. James eyes refocused rather quickly. “Now. You have an idea of how long I’ve been waiting to hear that. Six long…years” James stated. Yet, he didn’t care. Not anymore. James placed a hand back towards the small table grabbing his glasses sliding them back into place.
His smile mimicked Lily’s. It was huge, probably the biggest smile James had ever seen Lily produce. Six years he wasted when all he had to say was he loved her? If he knew that he would have said that so long ago. In a quick motion James picked Lily up setting her on the arm of the couch. He moved the gorgeous red hair from the back of her neck leaning closer to her ear. “Lily Evans, I do believe you owe me a real date,” James stated, trying to cover a small hint of laughter. All these years of asking, she finally owed him a real date. James used one hand to jump over the back of the couch landing on the cushion closest to her. He pushed a hand through his hair once, he was positioned so Lily’s legs go sit on his lap. He was not going to push the kissing, he wasn’t going to push anything else for the day. He just wanted to be close to her, he was scared of waking up.
James left a hand on her right leg, he stared towards the fire slowly going before looking back up to Lily. She was beautiful, he was seriously the luckiest man alive. Every man said that when they found the one they wanted to spend their life with, but Lily was or should be every mans dream. He would protect her at all costs, he would try and be less arrogant, he would try for her. He shook his head once, pushing bangs from his face. What the bloody hell was he going to tell Sirius? She just decided like telling me she loved me. Nope. If he told them, he was going to have to come clean about a lot of things. Then he would have to face Frank. That would be the worlds biggest “I told you so” vent session he’d ever participate in. James ran a thumb over Lily’s jeans before meeting those emerald jewels. “how am I going to explain this to the Marauders…” James mumbled, the mumble lips, then turned into a smile. His mother sent him an angel, someone had to save his sorry ass.
